A series of luminescent emission-tunable phosphors CaAlOF:Tb,Eu, Eu have been synthesized by a high temperature solid-state reaction in a reductive atmosphere. The sample phase was determined by powder X-ray diffractometry. Photoluminescence results indicated that as-synthesized phosphors CaAlOF:Tb, Eu, and Eu display an intense blue peak at 440 nm that was produced by 4f-5d transition of Eu, along with the intense intrinsic emission of Euunder ultraviolet excitation. The effect of Tb concentration and the decay times of Eu and Eu emissions were investigated to ascribe the energy transfer from Tb to Eu and Tb to Eu. The critical energy transfer distance between Tb and Eu/or Eu was calculated by the concentration-quenching method. The chromaticity coordinates of CaAlOF:0.48 Eu, y Tb can be tuned from（0.2498, 0.2324） for y =0 to（0.2647, 0.1612） for y = 0.48, which suggests the potential for developing phosphors for white light-emitting diodes.

Fractional extraction with two inlets is a novel system which can process two kinds of material liquid at the same time. The separation principle of the new fractional extraction has been introduced and the new extraction system has been investigated by dynamic simulation on a computer. The results indicate that the fractional extraction system with two inlets be applied to separate the rare earths in two kinds of material liquid meanwhile owns many advantages compare with two traditional fractional extraction systems to separate the same two materials but alone. The scrubbing acid and saponification alkali consumption of the proposed fractional extraction system with two inlets decreases significantly and the decreasing amplitude amplifies as the feed ratio rise. While the feed ratio is equals to 3, the scrubbing acid consumption drops by 75%dramatically. The system arrives at its steady state and products attain respective desired purities using fractional extraction with two inlets much faster than using two traditional fraction extraction systems respectively. And the rare earth yields using the proposed system with two inlets are higher than using traditional fraction extraction system.

Effects of alloying techniques of dollop-like rare earth metals(yttrium and mischmetal), as-cast and extruded Mg-RE master alloy in AZ91 D die-casting magnesium alloy on microstructure and the efficiency of alloying were studied by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, XRD and inductively-coupled plasma(ICP) spectroscopy. The as-cast AZ91D-1.2%RE alloys were prepared and rare earths metal was added by different way. The results showed that the efficiency of alloying achieved less than 50% within 60 min when dollop-like mischmetal or dollop-like yttrium was added. When mischmetal and yttrium was added by as-cast and extruded master alloy, the efficiency of alloying was improved significantly. Testing results showed the master alloy could melt easily down at die casting temperature because Mg-RE phases with lower melting point were *** grain refining efficiency of the master alloy was improved by extrusion, and the efficiency of alloying of extruded master alloy was higher than that of as-cast master alloy. The improvement could be attributed to the decrease in Mg-RE particle *** efficiency of alloying of mischmetal was better than that of yttrium.

Suitable concentrations of rare earths have the bioeffects of increasing production, improving quality and enhancing resistance of crops. To better understand the molecular mechanisms of rare earths' bioeffects, the wheat seedlings were treated with 0, 0.5, 5.0mmol/L La3+ and total proteins extracted from leaves were separated by 2-DE, then the differentially-expressed proteins were identified by MALDI-TOF-MS. After treated with La3+, 61 proteins abundance of wheat leaves changed up to 1.2 times in comparison with the control. Among these differential proteins, 15 were successfully identified. At 0.5mmol/L La3+, the expression of RUBP carboxylase/oxygenase and chloroplast fructose-bisphosphate aldolase ***, the prohibitin expression decreased. At 5.0mmol/L La3+, the expression of catalase decreased, and that of plant photosynthesis related proteins of chlorophyll a/b binding protein, RUBP carboxylase and ferredoxin were decreased, and accompanied by expression intensity increasing of the ATP synthase and thiazole biosynthetic enzyme. Those differentially-expressed proteins were the molecular basis of the bioeffects of La3+ at suitable concentration and high concentration. This study provides novel insights for better understanding the mechanism of the bioeffects of rare earth in plants.

The new tripod ligand [N-bis（4-methyl benzene-diamino formyl）methyl phosphonic acid] and its europium（Ⅲ） complex(Eu（pic）L) was synthesized and characterized by TG-DSC, IR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, elemental and molar conductance analysis. The experimental results show that the ligand forms the1:1 complex with europium picrate. The results of UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry indicated that there are intercalation interaction between DNA and Eu（pic）L. When the Eu（pic）L was regarded as DNA hybridization probe used in the study of DNA electrochemical sensor that no obvious electrochemical signal response can be found when the Eu（pic）L under the effect of modified electrodes single-strand DNA testing. However, obvious electrochemical signal response was caught when it under the effect of double-stranded DNA testing. It's indicated that the biosensor could discriminate well which the complementary sequences from the base-mismatched and the non-complementary sequences. So Eu（pic）L could be used well as the biosensor to discriminate the complementary sequences from the base-mismatched and the non-complementary sequences.

As the crown of the permanent magnets, the rare-earth permanent magnet is a key material that supports modern society development and is bound up with people's daily lives. Being rich of rare earths, China has a big advantage to develop rare-earth permanent magnet materials. Rare-earth permanent magnets are accessible to many applications such as mobile phone, cameras, computer, air conditioner, refrigerator,electrical bicycles, medical equipment, automobiles, trains and airplanes. The rare-earth permanent magnet with the widest application is Nd-Fe-B, which is about 98.7% of the total rare-earth permanent magnets. In year 2015, the production output of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet blocks in China is 126000 tons, about 88% of that of the world;the output of bonded Nd-Fe-B magnet of China is 4000 tons, about 65% of that of the *** the ten years of 2005 and 2015, the average annual growth rates of the output of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets are respectively 11.7% for China and 10.6% for the world;and the rates of bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets are respectively 6.7% for China and 3.3% for the world. With rich rare earth resources, adequate technicians, low production cost and broad market, China's rare earth permanent magnet industry has splendid future lying ahead.

Zinc bismuth borate transparent glasses doped with Eu ions（ZBBE）were prepared by a rapid melt quenching technique. The physical properties including refractive index, density, molar volume and the structure, optical properties as well as thermal stability of glasses were totally investigated. The glass sample with 5mol% Eureaches the maximum PL relative intensity. Intense emission peaked at 613 nm is observed in the emission spectra under 465 nm excitation. The effects of Bi2O3 and Zn O on optical properties in certain extent are almost negligible. Compared with zinc borate and bismuth borate glasses, [BO], [BO] and [Bi O] are identified in ZBBE glasses,however, [Zn O] units and six member rings of [BO] are not found. The amorphous states of these glasses are demonstrated by XRD patterns. The structure of glasses becomes more compact which maybe resulted from boron anomaly with the increase of Eu concentration. In addition, no obvious crystallization band indicates the ZBBE glasses have good thermal stability. The ZBBE glasses with low melting temperature are expected to be applied in YAG via a phosphor-in-glass（Pi G） approach for WLED applications.

The pure phases of Ce-activated LaSiN yellow phosphors were synthesized by high temperature solid-state method by adjusting the condition of sintering. The structure and occupation of Ce and luminescent properties were investigated. X-ray powder diffraction refinement indicated that two luminescence centers existed. This phosphor can be efficiently excited under the blue region ranging from 400 nm to 500 nm and generates a broad-band emission peaking at 535 nm with a full width at half maximum of 115 nm due to the 5d→F and 5d→F transitions of Ce In addition, LaSiN:0.14Ce exhibits a small thermal quenching, which remains 96.8% of the initial emission intensity measured at 200 °C;It is indicate that yellow-emitting LaSiN:Ce can be regard as a great practical phosphor in warm-LED applications.

The synergistic effect generated by the cooperation of simultaneous dual-wavelength excitation of near-infrared（NIR） and ultraviolet（UV） light in rare-earth doped nano-particles（NPs） is of vital importance for improving solar cell efficiency, which could overcome the sub-bandgap absorption of NIR and decrease the thermalization losses in UV light. Both the energy levels of rare-earth and the defects states may be involved in the synergistic effect process. Managing the photons derived from both 4f electric configuration and defect-related states and understanding the synergistic effect mechanism are essential for the applications in opt-electronics. Herein, we studied the synergistic effect combined with the energy levels of Er ions and the defect states in NPs. The introduction of Ce ions in KLuF:16%Yb, 2%Er NPs makes significantly improved synergistic effect by producing vacancy defects（）, which are served as shallow traps. We verify unambiguously that it is plausible to exert facile promoting the synergistic effect with the assistance of shallow traps via the valid substitution between different valence states.

The iron and rare earth were extracted from tailing from Iron Ore Dressing in Baotou by the technological process of magnetizing Roasting-Magnetic Separation and ammonium sulfate roasting treatment. The main influence factors on recovery of iron were investigated including magnetizing roasting temperature, roasting time,roasting product grinding and ore dressing conditions. The influence factors on the leaching rates of rare earth in roasted products were investigated with amount of ammonium sulfate, roasting temperature, roasting time. The phase composition of magnetic iron concentrate, magnetic separation tailings, leaching residue and leaching solution crystal precipitation were characterized. The results show that the iron concentrate with iron grade of 58.25% and iron recovery of 78.60% can be obtained under reasonable grinding and ore dressing condition, and the rare earth grade（REO）of magnetic separation tailings is 10.07%. The magnetic separation tailings and ammonium sulfate were mixed and roasted and leached with hot *** leaching rate of La, Ce and Nd could reach 83.08%, 76.55% and 77.16% respectively, under the following optimized experimental conditions: 6:1 of（NH）SO to tailings mass ratio, 400℃ of roasting temperature for 80 min, 80℃ of water bath leaching temperature for 1 h and 10:1 of leaching liquid-solid ratio.
