Objective To establish a simple and practical (SP) scoring system to predict the prognosis of hepatitis B related acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF) and study the predictive value of the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) scoring system in patients with *** A total of 191 patients with HBV-ACLF were recruited between January 1,2010 and December 31,2011 and followed up for 3 months, 105 patients died and 89 patient survived.

Paneth cells are a highly-specialized secretory cells at the bottom of the crypt in small *** cells play an essential role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis by secreting large amount of microbicidal peptides into gut *** many professional secretory cells, Paneth cells secrete microbicidal peptides through dense-core vesicles (DCVs).Currently, the mechanisms governing DCV cargo sorting are highly ***, we present evidence showing Dardarin, a highly interesting gene implicated in both Parkinson's disease and inflammatory bowel disease, plays an indispensable role in lysozyme sorting in Paneth *** deficient Paneth cells lack lysozyme in DCVs, which renders the mice more susceptible to intestinal *** mechanistic investigation has shown Dardarin forms a platform on the surface of DCVs to recruit important components governing cargo *** deficiency leads to the failure of such *** results not only illustrate the important physiological function of Dardarin, but also could shed light on the general mechanism governing DCV cargo sorting.

Background Metabolomics studies hold promise for the discovery of pathways linked to disease *** clinical practice, many cases often cause disruption of the gut *** aim of this work was to evaluate the effects of microflora variations on the body' s metabolic *** Sprague-Dawley rats received either saline, probiotics, Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis, Gentamicin or MgS02 via daily gavage for 7 days, GC/MS analysis the serum metabolic profiles and intestinal bacteria was *** Probiotics can markedly reduce the content of Alanine , and in the nonpathogenic *** group, it significantly increase in alanine;orally administered *** caused many of these amino acids (alanine, leucine , isoleucine, serine)significantly reduce;an overall reduction in gut microflora due to orally administered Gentamicin resulted in a meaningful reduction in proline and butyric ***(s) The changed gut microflora have diverse effects on the serum metabolic profiles , especially on the Ammonia.
