Effect of quaternary element,Sn,Ge and Bi,on the ternary eutectic temperature of the Zn-AI-Mg alloy （343） was determined by a differential scanning calorimeter （DSC）.Only Sn showed the possibility of decreasing the eutectic *** melting temperature of Zn-Al-Mg-Sn quaternary alloys was investigated by DSC measurement in detail and evaluated by the phase diagram calculation using the thermodynamic database of micro-solder alloys,*** on the calculated predictions,the melting temperature range and alloy composition were optimized to be 332.4-281.1℃ and Zn-3.0Sn-8.0Mg-9.0Al （at.%）, respectively,which are applicable property for high temperature Pb-free solders.

Effects of heat treatment conditions on mechanical and superelasfic properties of Ti-Mo-Sn alloy were investigated mainly by tensile *** specimens were heat-treated in the temperature range of 773-1273 K for 300 ***'s modulus and ultimate tensile strength of the specimens heat-treated at over 823 K decreased with increasing heat-treatment temperature.A maximum recovery strain of about 4%,including both genuine elastic and superelastie strain,was obtained in the wires heat-treated in the temperature range of 1073- 1273 *** these characteristics,it is expected a new class of Ni-free Ti-based superelastic guidewire and superelastic catheter.

The influence of a few Boron atoms on the formation and magnetocaloric effect of the DyCoB alloys （x=0.01,0.025,0.05,0.075,0.1） were investigated in this *** measured showed that small amount Boron atoms had a little influence on the Curie temperature of DyCo,from 146K to 156K.A few amount Boron atoms （x=0.01） could enhance the magnetization and the magnetic entropy effect of DyCo,up to 10.3 Am/kg under 1.5T,while maintain its lattice *** doping of Boron atoms (x （?）0.025) to DyCo would favor the formation of DyCo phase and the ferromagnetic DyCo phase at low temperature would weaken or interfere the effect of the fast order transition of DyCo near its Curie temperature,leading to decrease of magnetic entropy effect.

The effects of prestraining on the Cu precipitation and hardening were studied in an Fe-1.5 mass% Cu alloy. The specimens showed considerable precipitation hardening only at temperatures higher than 500℃ without prestraining,while the 10% prestrained specimens exhibited an appreciable amount of hardening at temperatures as low as 300℃.To investigate the mechanism for hardening due to prestraining,the precipitation of Cu particles in bcc Fe matrix is simulated using *** influence of excess vacancies and dislocations introduced during prestraining on the Cu precipitation was considered,and simulated results were compared with experimental observation by 3D-APFIM and *** increase in hardness above 500℃ with and without prestraining may be attributed to the Cu precipitation in the matrix.A small,but significant amount of increase in hardness of prestrained specimens aged at a temperature as low as 300 is likely to be due to Cu precipitation on *** is also possible that excess vacancies accelerate the diffusion and thus,the kinetics of Cu precipitation both in the matrix and at dislocations.

The superelasticity (SE) of the Cu-Al-Mn-based alloys can be drastically improved by controlling the grain size,and the present alloys were hardened by ageing at around 250℃ 400℃ which causes the bainitic *** on these results,a Cu-Al-Mn-based core wire for a medical guidewire with a superelastic tip portion and a high rigid body portion was *** new type of guidewire shows excellent pushability and torquability superior to those of stainless steel and Ti-Ni guidewires.

The Cu-Pd system was critically assessed by means of the CALculation of the PHAse Diagram （CALPHAD） *** solution phases （liquid,face-centered cubic） were modeled with Redlich-Kister *** compound CuPd,which has a homogeneity range,was treated as the formula Cu（Cu,Pd） by a two-sublattice *** ordered phases CuPd,the one-dimensional long-period superstructures （ID-LPS） and the two-dimensional long-period superstructures （2D-LPS）,all of which the struktur-bericht designation is Ll,A model （Cu,Pd）（Cu,Pd）（Va） is applied to describe the compound CuPd,1D-LPS and 2D-LPS in order to cope with the order-disorder transition between three intermetallic compounds CuPd,1D-LPS and 2D-LPS with Ll-type structure and face-centered cubic solution （Al） in the Cu-Pd *** thermodynamic parameters of three compounds CuPd,1D-LPS and 2D-LPS with Ll-type structure were optimized,which are relative to disordered face-centered cubic solution （AI）,respectively,in the Cu-Pd system.

By means of CALPHAD （CALculation of PHAse Diagram） technique,the Li-Zn system were critically *** solution phases （liquid,body-centered cubic,hexagonal close-packed） were modeled with the *** compound LiZn was treated as stoichiometric compound. βLiZn and αLiZn,which had a homogeneity range,were treated as the formulae （Li,Zn）（Li,Zn） and （Li,Zn）（Li,Zn）,respectively,αLiZn was treated as the formula Li（Li,Zn）.The compounds αLiZn and βLiZn were treated as the formula （Li,Zn）Zn.A three-sublattice model （Li,Zn）（Li,Zn）（Va） is applied to describe the compound LiZn in order to cope with the order-disorder transition between body-centered cubic solution （A2） and LiZn with NaTl-type structure （B32）.Another three-sublattice model （Li,Zn）（Li,Zn）（Va） is applied to describe the compound βLiZn in order to cope with the order-disorder transition between hcp（A3） and βLiZn（hP2）.A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters of the Li-Zn system was obtained.
