A controlled Lorenz model with fast-slow effect has been established,in which there exist order gap between the variables associated with the controller and the original Lorenz oscillator,*** conditions of fold bifurcation as well as Hopf bifurcation for the fast subsystem are derived to investigate the mechanism of the behaviors of the whole *** cases in which the equilibrium points of the fast subsystem behave in different characteristics have been considered,leading to different dynamical evolutions with the change of coupling *** types of bursting phenomena,such as fold/fold burster,fold/Hopf burster,near-fold/Hopf burster,fold/near-Hopf buster have been *** analysis shows that the bifurcations points which connect the quiescent state and the repetitive spiking state agree well with the turning points of the trajectories of the ***,the mechanism of the period-adding bifurcations,resulting in the rapid change of the period of the movements,is presented.

The dynamical behaviour of two coupled limit cycle oscillators around a 1:3 resonant double Hopf bifurcation point is *** parameters including time delay are chosen as the bifurcation parameters,then the method of multiple scales is used to obtain bifurcation *** analyzing the bifurcation equations,the dynamical behaviour arising from the bifurcation is classified qualitatively in two-parameter cross-section by fixing one of the three bifurcation *** results show rich dynamical phenomena including the amplitude death,periodic solution and quasiperiodic *** particular,by varying time delay,the exchange of energy between two oscillators is *** simulation results are also given to support the theoretical predictions.

Because of lacking of the semigroup property of Riemann-Liouville derivative and Caputo one,the Miller-Rose sequential fractional derivative operator,which in the sense of this two types of fractional derivatives,has been proposed,which often appears in a nature way in the formulation of various applied problems in physics and applied *** this paper,by using the Laplace transform,the solutions of the systems with the Miller-Ross sequential derivative in the sense of the Riemann-Liouville derivative and the Caputo one are derived *** on the asymptotical expansion of the Mittag-Leffler function,the stability criteria of the fractional differential systems with Miller-Ross sequential fractional derivative are given,where two cases are included:the homogenous case and the non-homogenous one.

As slow manifolds of dynamical systems contain information about the dynamics of the attractor structure of dynamical systems,it is useful to provide slow manifold equation using several methods in this *** these methods for the determination of slow manifold analytical equation,the classical one based on the singular perturbations theory is the so-called singular approximation *** some special cases,however,it can not be used to determine the analytical equation of slow ***,new alternative method of the determination of slow manifold equation,namely,flow curvature method,is proposed from the viewpoint of differential *** new method provides three equivalent manners to determine the slow manifold analytical ***,it can be seen that this method generalizes the tangent linear system approximation and includes the so-called geometric singular perturbation theory,and it is more useful to calculate the slow manifold for high-dimensional dynamical *** addition,Based on the specific use of acceleration,a new manifold called singular manifold will also be introduced to describe geometrical structure of the *** last,various applications of several approaches to three-dimensional and high-dimensional models will be provided as tutorial examples.

An equilibrium of a planar,piecewise-C1,continuous system of differential equations that crosses a curve of discontinuity of the Jacobian of its vector eld can undergo a number of discontinuous or border-crossing *** on the previous,if the eigenvalues of the Jacobian limit to λL±iwL on one side of the discontinuity and R iR on the other,with λL,λR0,and the quantity ξ= λL/wL- λR/wR is nonzero,then a periodic orbit is created or destroyed as the equilibrium crosses the *** this paper,we prove that when 0,for linear system,the bifurcation scenario is from an unstable focus to stable focus via ***,its nonlinear counterparts exhibits dynamical behavior differently,i.e.a branch of stable limit cycle branch will bifurcate from the origin.

Based on the Cauchy-Kovalevski theorem for a system of partial dierential equations to be integrable,a kind of generalized Birkhoan systems(GBSs)with local,analytic properties are put forward,whose manifold admits a presymplectic structure described by a closed 2-form which is equivalent to the self-adjointness of the *** relations with Birkhoan systems,generalized Hamiltonian systems are investigated in ***,algebraic and geometric prop-erties of GBSs are formulated,together with their integration methods induced from the Birkhoan *** an important example,nonholonomic systems are reduced into GBSs,which gives a new approach to some open problems of nonholonomic mechanics.

This paper aims to investigate Gaussian colored noise-induced stochastic bifurcations and the influence of correlation time and noise intensity in a bistable Duffing-van der Pol *** using the stochastic averaging method,one can obtain the stationary probability density function of amplitude for the Duffing-van der Pol oscillator theoretically and find rich dynamics under the influence of Gaussian colored *** bifurcations are discussed through a qualitative change of the stationary probability distribution,which indicates that system parameters,noise intensity and noise correlation time can be treated as bifurcation parameters respectively,They also imply that the effects of multiplicative noise are rather different from that of additive *** results of direct numerical simulation verify the effectiveness of the theoretical ***,the largest Lyapunov exponent calculations indicate that the P-bifurcation and D-bifurcation have no direct connection.

This investigation examined whether the directionality of neural information flow could be used to index the measurement of synaptic plasticity in Wistar rats and chronic unpredictable stress(CUS)*** map approach(EMA)was employed to determine the direction of neural information flow between the cortex and thalamus,while the experiment was performed by conducting long-term potentiation(LTP)of the thalamocortical pathway after recording intracranial EEG at the same two positions in animals of both normal and stressed *** results showed that the coupling direction index was significantly diverted in stressed state compared to that in normal state,while the strength of thalamus driving frontal cortex was considerably reduced in the rats of CUS ***,the data obtained from LTP experiment exhibited that chronic stress decreased the medial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)synaptic plasticity,which was certainly in accordance with the EEG *** results demonstrated that using EMA measurement,directionality index of neural information flow may be as a measure of synaptic ***,phase-based approaches are still at an early stage of *** remains an open question if phase-based directionality methods are best fitted to identify the neuronal mechanisms underlying functional interactions between brain areas.

In this paper,we study the corner-like formation in a slender nonlinearly elastic cylinder due to ***,this is a very challenging problem:one needs to study the bifurcation of the nonlinear eld equations(complicated nonlinear partial differential equations)and show that there is a bifurcation leading to a solution with a corner-like *** also aim to obtain the asymptotic expression for this post-bifurcation *** far as we know,there is no available analytical method to obtain the post-bifurcation solution of nonlinear partial differential equation(s).Here we use a novel approach to tackle the present *** a method of coupled series-asymptotic expansions,we manage to derive the normal form equation of the original nonlinear eld equations,which can be written as a singularordinarydifferentialequation(ODE)system(thevectoreldhasa singularityatone point).With welding end conditions,the problem is reduced to study the boundary-value problemofa *** seems thatsucha boundary-value problem ofa singular ODEsyste*** thehelpofphaseplanes,*** there is a vertical singular line in phase planes,which causes the bifurcation to a corner-like *** expression for this post-bifurcation solution is also *** the analyticalresults obtained,we reveal that the coupling effect ofthe materialnonlinearityand geometrical size is the physical mechanism that causes the formation of a corner-like prole.
