Nature is an excellent reservoir of the metabolic products of high stereochemical diversity, many of them possessing interesting biological activities and medicinal *** the classes of characterized natural products,isoprenoids（also terpenoids）,one of the largest families, have been investigated intensively for their diverse chemical structures and variety of biological *** part of an ongoing investigation on the discovery of structurally unique and biologically active secondary metabolites of natural origin,four medicinal important plants of the genus Cinnamomum and Salvia[***,***,***,and ***],have been phytochemically *** current studies results in the isolation and identification of 64 natural products,including 21 new sesquiterpenoids,17 new diterpenoids,and 26 miscellaneous secondary *** relative structures and conformations have been elucidated on the basis of HR-ESIMS,H-NMR,C-NMR,DEPT,and 2D NMR analysis（H-H COSY,HSQC,HMBC, and NOESY）,chemical transformation,quantum mechanical calculations,as well as modified Mosher's method and single crystal X-ray diffraction *** these new diterpenoids,it is notable that two novel diterpenoids with unprecedented carbon skeletons were isolated from the genus Cinnamomum,the absolute configurations of them were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction onaCuKαirradiation.
