The thermoelectric material polythiophene（PTh） - bismuth telluride（BiTe） nanocomposite were prepared using hydrothermal method and spark plasma sintering（SPS） technique in present *** organic PTh has been used as a dopant for BiTe to achieve low thermal *** hybrid composite has been characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis（XRD） and scanning electron microscope （SEM）.SEM observation revealed that some nano-sheets coexist with spherical-shaped particles with diameter of 30 *** organic PTh act as adhesive in the *** thermoelectric properties of the PTh-Bi2Te3 nanocomposites were *** results show that the power factor of the composite is intermediate between its two components in a temperature range of 298 K - 473 *** maximum value of ZT in this work is 0.18 at 473K for the sample with 5%PTh *** hybrid composite of conducting polymer with low thermal conductivity and inorganic thermoelectric material with high electric conductivity are expected to yield high ZT value of the material.

By means of the CALPHAD technique,the Ir-Ti system was critically *** solution phases（liquid,fcc,bcc） were described with the substitutional solution *** compound IrTi which has a homogeneity range,was treated as the formulae（Ir,Ti）(Ir,Ti) A two-sublattice model （Ir,Ti）（Ir,Ti）（Va） is applied to describe the compoundγIrTi in order to cope with the order-disorder transition betweenγIrTi with CsCl-type structure（B2） and bcc solution（A2）.The two-sublattice models （Ir,Ti）（Ir,Ti ）（Va） and（Ir,Ti）（Ir,Ti ）（Va） are applied to describe the compound IrTi andβIrTi in order to cope with the order-disorder transition of IrTi（L1） andβIrTi（L1） with fcc solution（A1）.The transitionαIrTi（?）βIrTi is of second order.A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters describing the Gibbs energy of each individual phase as a function of composition and temperature for the Ir-Ti system was obtained.

The Ge-La binary system was critically assessed by means of the CALculation of PHAse Diagram（CALPHAD） *** liquid phase with unlimited solubility into each other and the terminal solid solution diamond-（Ge） with a small solubility of La were described using the substitutional model,in which the excess Gibbs energy was formulated with the Redlich-Kister *** compounds with homogeneity ranges,αGeLa,βGeLa and GeLa,were modeled using two sublattices as （Ge,La）La,（Ge,La）La and（Ge,La）(Ge,La) *** intermediate phases with no solubility ranges,GeLa,GeLa,GeLa and GeLa,were treated as stoichiometric *** three allotropic modifications of dhcp-La,fcc-La and bcc-La were kept as pure element phases since there is no solubility of Ge in La.A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters of the Ge-La binary system was obtained. The calculation results agree well with the available experimental data from literatures.

We present a study of the thermodynamic and physical properties of NbGe and NbGe compounds by means of density functional theory（DFT） based *** optimized lattice constants of the different NbGe and NbGe compounds are in good agreement with the experimental *** calculated formation enthalpies show that the CrB-type and WSi-type structures are *** addition,we predict a high pressure transition from the CrB-type structure to the WSi-type structure above 5.44 GPa（GGA） or 3.27 GPa（LDA）.The electronic density of states（DOS） and the bonding charge density have also been calculated to elucidate the bonding mechanism in these compounds and the results indicate that bonding is mostly of covalent *** elastic constants of NbGe and NbGe have been calculated together with the different ***,by using a quasiharmonic Debye model,the Debye temperature,the heat capacity,the coefficient of thermal expansion and the Gruneisen parameter have also been obtained in the present *** transformation temperature between the CrB-type and WSi-type structures has been predicted by means of the Gibbs energy,and the predicted temperature is 338.7 K（from GGA calculations） or 436.0 K（within the LDA）.

A comprehensive thermodynamic database of the Al-Zn-Ti ternary system is presented for the first *** binary Zn-Ti system is re-optimized by means of Calphad method using the enthalpies of formation for TiZn,TiZn2 and TiZn3 solid phases at 300 K.A new ternary compound T is considered and described as L12-Ti0.25(***)0.75 in the present *** isothermal section at 723 K and the enthalpies of formation along the Ti25AlxZn75-x(x=0～75) section at 300 K are *** present calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.

The Ti-Zr and Sn-Ti-Zr systems were optimized by the means of the CALPHAD(CALculation of PHAse Diagram) *** solution phases(liquid,hcp,bcc and bct) were described by the substitutional-solution *** compounds SnTi SnTi in the Sn-Ti system and SnZr in the Sn-Zr system were treated as Sn(Ti,Zr) by a two-sublattice model in the Sn-Ti-Zr system,*** compound SnZr in the Sn-Zr system was treated as(Sn,Zr)(Sn,Ti,Zr) by a two-sublattice model in the Sn-Ti-Zr *** compound SnTi in the Sn-Ti system was treated as(Sn,Va,Zr)(Ti,Zr) by a two-sublattice model in the Sn-Ti-Zr *** in the Sn-Ti system was treated as(Sn,Va)(Ti,Va,Zr) by a two-sublattice model in the Sn-Ti-Zr *** compound SnTi in the Sn-Ti system and SnZr in the Sn-Zr system were treated as one phase named as t by a three-sublattice model(Sn)(Ti,Zr)(Sn,Va) in the Sn-Ti-Zr system.A self-consistent thermodynamic description of the Sn-Ti-Zr system was obtained.

The phase composition of arc-melted alloys in the ternary system Ce-Al-Cu（Cu-poor portion） in the as-cast state formed by conventional arc-melting were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction（XRD）. differential thermal analysis（DTA） and scanning electron microscopy（SEM） *** investigated composition region consists of 16 single-phase,32 two-phase and 17 three-phase *** as-cast state, the solubilities of the solid solution phases were *** CeAlCu compound decomposes into three phases:Ce(AlCu),Ce(AlCu) and CeAlCu in as-cast *** on the constructed phase composition regions of the investigated alloys in the as-cast state formed by conventional arc-melting,it reveals that the reported composition region of the bulk glass alloys in the Ce-Al-Cu system falls in the three-phase regions 15-17 withα-CeAl as the common phase which is supposed to play an important role in the glass forming process.

Mg-Sn based alloys have been increasingly attended as the potential creep resistant system due to the existence of the MgSn phase with the higher thermal *** their heat resistant property could be further improved by the RE addtions due to the forming of the Mg-RE or Sn-RE intermetallic ***,the phase equilibria of the Mg-Sn-RE systems have been not completely investigated. Therefore,in this work,the equilibrium phase constituents and compositions in the Mg-Sn-Gd ternary system at 300℃were determined through equilibriated alloy method by using X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM） with assistance of energy dispersive spectroscopy of X-ray（SEM-EDS）.The isothermal section in the Mg-rich corner at 300℃was thus constructed,as shown in Fig.1.A new ternary compound MgSnGd（1:1:1） has been identified in the Mg-rich *** Sn-Gd binary coumpounds were detected in equilibrium with theα-Mg matrix,which is different fonn that of the Mg-Sn-Y *** is interesting to find that the Gd and Sn are not simultaneously soluble in the a-Mg solid solution.

The lattice constants,formation enthalpies,elastic constants and electronic properties of six Al-Sr binary intermetallics have been calculated by using first-principles within generalized gradient approximation（GGA）.The calculated lattice constants and formation enthalpies of the six intermetallics are in good agreement with experimental and other theoretical results *** polycrystalline bulk modulus,shear modulus,Young's modulus,Poisson's ratio are also estimated from the calculated single crystalline elastic *** total and partial densities of states of the six intermetallics have been obtained,and which indicated that the AlSr-oI is more stability than the ***,Longitudinal, transverse and average sound velocities and Debye temperature are also obtained in this work.

Thermodynamic assessment of the U-Mo-Al ternary system has been performed by CALPHAD ***,the U-Mo binary system has been thermodynamicaliy *** reported five solution phases,liquid,orthorhombic20（αU）,tetragonal（βU）,BCC2（γU） and terminal Mo solid solution are treated as substitutional solution *** BCC2 takes the same structure as Mo thus they are described with the same *** the only intermetallic compound,MoU,is treated as stoichiometric ***,by using the available thermodynamic parameters of the Al-U and Al-Mo binary systems reported in literatures,the U-Mo-Al ternary system was thermodynamicaliy assessed.A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters has been obtained,which can satisfactorily reproduce most of the thermodynamic and phase diagram ***,the five layers of U-Mo/Al diffusion couple at 873K after 4-hour annealing done by Panlancher et *** been well interpreted by the present thermodynamic assessment.
