[Introduction]The prevalence of vertebral fractures would be much higher if there were proper diagnostic procedures. The misdiagnosis of fractures usually occurs for two reasons,the improper positioning of the patient during the X - ray and the coexistence of osteoarthritis(vertebral OA).[Method]1360 postmenopausal patients who visited our clinic were studied under careful *** the patients with severe vertebral fractures were classified into groups C = 1,C = 2-3,C = 4-5 *** on the number of crush fractures of each group by age.[Results] The increase in incidence of secondary,tertiary and subsequent fractures happens in a somewhat predictable manner
