The objective of this investigation was to establish a model in which gene regulation in osteogenic differentiation and bone formation could be studied at specific developmental stages in vivo. Using the bone sialoprotein(BSP) promoter to target expression of the avian retroviral receptor (TVA) gene in transgenic mice,we determined the effect of a dominant - negative(DN) form of the Runx2/Cbfa1,a critical transcription factor and Ostetrix(Osx) on the expression of bone - related matrix protein genes.

The number of ultrasound bone densitometer are widely used for increased demand for preventing osteoporosis because of its safety and simplicity in *** need normative data and the cut - off value of the QUS for those purpose. We established the normative data and proposed the cut Off value of the CMIOO ultrasound bone densitometer（ Furuno Electric Co.,Nishinomiya Japan） in Japaneses women aged from 6 y.o to 85 *** speed of sound（SOS） in right calcaneus of 8292 healthy Japanese women were measured using *** addition,1446 out of 4140 adult subjects of L BMD were measured by DXA and 504 subjects were taken thoracic and lumbar Xray simultaneouslyfor determining fracture threshold.

Purpose:Many factors are pointed out as risk factors of osteoporotic ***,there is considerable uncertainty about which factors best predict hip and spine fractures in the *** compared a hip fracture group, a spine fracture group and a control group in order to investigate the effect of body composition,especially fat,on osteoporotic fractures. Methods:Total BMD and whole - body soft tissue composition were measured by dual - energy X - ray absorptiometry in three groups:(a)79 patients with a hip fracture;(b) 53 patients with a spine fracture;(c) 116 healthy women who were confirmed not to have any spinal fractures via spinal X - ray and any history of clinical *** subjects who had a disease or were taking drugs affecting bone metabolism were excluded from the study.

A two - year double - blind,controlled milk intervention trial was carried in 757 Chinese girls aged 10 years in Beijing to evaluate the effects of milk supplementation on bone mineral accretion,cortical bone accretion and indica- tors of bone metabolism. Subjects were randomised into three groups(calcium fortified milk group,calcium and vitamin D fortified milk group,control group).At baseline,12 and 24 months,total body BMC and BMD were measured in half subjects, and IGF - I,PTH,and three biochemical markers of bone turnover were measured in a sub - *** and medullary diameters of the midpoint of the second metacarpal were measured on x - ray radiographs in 606 girls at baseline and 24 months.

Introduction BOne mineral density(BMD) is one of the major factors to predict fracture risk and assess *** aim of this study was to establish a normal reference database of the volumetric BMD(vBMD) for Hong Kong Chinese women. Methods 543 women aged 11 - 70 without diseases and medications affecting bone mineral metabolism were recruited from the local *** peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography(pQCT) (Densiscan 2000,Switzerland) was used to measure the trabecular BMD(tBMD),integral BDM and cortical BMD(cBMD) of non - dominant distal radius using a standard measuremnt protocol published in many of our previous studies.
