Programming language is one of fundamental issues on software *** only knowledge such as grammar but also practical programming experiences are important to the learning of programming *** this paper,we classify programming exercises into the following two types: 1) syntax practices for understanding the grammar and 2) semantics practices for understanding the flow of a program,and then we develop a web-base application that automatically generates programming exercises by using templates and PHP *** also evaluate the effectiveness of the system composed of both our web-based system and an electronic materials for learning programming languages by several experiments,and find that the semantic practices require more time than the syntax practices to enhance the understanding of programming languages thoroughly.

Isogeometric Analysis(IGA) is relatively young computational method built on the assumption that NonUniform Rational B-Splines(NURBS) are used both for modelling curved objects and as the base functions for approximating unknown *** single patch IGA implementation is relatively easy,implementation of multi-patch IGA with local patch refinement is more difficult,especially with respect to providing flexible data *** paper describes the use of generic framework for handling mesh data(MOAB) to build flexible data structure supporting adaptive,multipatch version of *** key issue of such data structure is an appropriate numbering of mesh vertices to help building projection operator between patches,that ensures continuity of geometry *** paper presents the idea of special tagging of vertices and specific order of their enumeration that serves well this purpose.

Cloud computing has gained interest amongst commercial organizations,research communities,developers and other individuals during the past few *** order to move ahead with research in field of data management and to enable processing of such data,we need benchmark datasets and freely available data which are publicly *** in May 2011 released a trace of a cluster of 11 k machines referred as "Google Cluster Trace".This trace contains cell information of about 29 *** paper provides analysis of resource usage and requirements in this trace and is an attempt to give an insight about such kind of production trace similar to the ones in cloud *** major contributions of this paper include statistical profile of jobs based on resource usage,clustering of workload patterns and classification of jobs into different types based on k-means *** there have been earlier works for analysis of this trace,but our analysis provides several new findings such as jobs in a production trace are trimodal and there occurs symmetry in the tasks within a long job type.

This paper studies the pricing decision-making for recycling used home appliances when wholesale and retail prices for the green home appliances have already been determined by other *** consideration of the influences of the effective recycle behavior of the used home appliances to the whole supply chain,the paper proposes three game models about the recycle pricing for the used home appliances under three different collection methods *** three collection methods are 1) manufacturer collection(Model M),2) retailer collection(Model R) and 3) third-party collection(Model 3 P).Then the paper analyzes how the recycle price for the used home appliances and the total channel profits are affected by the choice of the collection *** pricing models presented in this paper provide a practical and theoretical guidance for home appliances enterprises in making pricing decisions.

in this work,we have done power analysis of Data Encryption Standard(DES) algorithm using Xilinx ISE software development *** have analyzed the amount of power utilized by selective components on board i.e.,FPGA Artix-7,where DES algorithm is *** components taken into consideration are clock power,logic power,signals power,IOs power,leakage power and supply power(dynamic and quiescent).We have used four different WLAN frequencies(2.4 GHz,3.6 GHz,4.9 GHz,and 5.9 GHz) and four different IO standards like HSTL-I,HSTL-II,HSTL-II-18,HSTL-I-18 for power *** have achieved13-47% saving in power at different frequencies and with different energy efficient HSTL IO *** calculated the percentage change in the IO power with respect to the mean values of IO power at four different *** notified that there is minimum of-37.5% and maximum of +35.8% *** work helps to design and implement DES algorithm with maximum power efficiency.

For commercial software in scientific and engineering computing,software licenses are needed when running them in high performance computing ***,there is a constraint for the number of software *** the traditional software licenses management approaches,there is a prominent *** jobs will fail immediately without available software ***,the existing job scheduling mechanisms mainly focus on hardware resources *** this paper,we propose a software licenses aware job scheduling and management approach on multi-clusters,which is a common scenario for current high performance computing *** on floating licenses and scheduling policies,the submitted jobs from multi-clusters requiring software licenses will be uniformly queued and scheduled.A co-scheduling mechanism is provided for the software licenses and hardware *** software and limited licenses can be shared and used efficiently on *** implemented and evaluated the approach in a real multi-clusters computing environment.
