In this paper,I will consider the life course of Japanese students studying in *** abroad can be seen as the easiest channel to promote so-called “brain drainage”.Nowadays,many students from China,Korea and Japan are studying in the Anglophone countries,and governments in three countries spend much endeavor to attract skilled labor in order to strengthen their competitive power in the world market through the innovative ***,studying abroad has two edges for the host *** the one side,it will bring the new technology and advanced knowledge to the host *** the other side,it is inescapable for the students to outflow abroad after completing the undergraduate or graduate *** in this paper,I will focus upon the close relationship between studying abroad and working ***,student migration from and to Japan is examined in the context of global student migration *** to the OECD survey,more and more students from almost all the countries began to study abroad since the *** students are no *** is noteworthy is that universities and colleges in Japan also accept many students from other countries as well as many Japanese students go *** US and the European countries are most preferred destination of Japanese student *** most of the Japanese in US universities or colleges are at the undergraduate level,students from other Asian countries such as China and India are studying at the graduate level in the *** difference can be explained by higher income per capita and accompanied higher enrollment rate for higher education in the Japanese *** more common motives of studying abroad among the Japanese students are to obtain the higher level of English *** and colleges in Australia is the most preferred destination for the Japanese ***-depth interview survey against the Japanese students studying in Australia was conducted in 2006

There have been efforts to restore of the Public Garden in Inchon,port city near Seoul for the last several *** Public Garden was built in 1884 as the first modern (non-traditional) park in *** park space was provided by five foreign consulate (American/British/Chinese/German/Japanese) in *** park was thus the site of undeniably colonial ***,the colonial memory of the park was forgotten since the park was totally devastated during Korea War (1950-1953).Instead,the statue of Duglas MacArthur was established in the park in 1957,and The Public Garden was remodeled into The Liberty *** then the statue has been playing a key role as a landmark of landscape of Inchon,conveying the ideology of anti-communist and anti-North ***,recently The Public Garden (the present Liberty Park) is considered to symbolize 'the memorable past' – multinational/multiethnic period with the opening of the port – by some cultural elite groups of the *** and pictorial images of the typically western styled architectures,though already destroyed,represents the romantic images of the Public Garden,in which the nationalistic,historic conflicts and politics in the early opening period were *** newly re-imagined images of the Public Garden are an imaginary space where regional identity of Inchon is being reconstructed through replacing political colonial memory with de-political postcolonial *** memories and main stream nationalist discourses on colonial period are intentionally forgotten,and memories of ideological conflicts in the postwar period inscribed in the park are tacitly ***,confrontational politics of nationality is displaced with illusionary landscape of cosmopolitan fin de siècle Inchon,which is being mobilized as cultural backdrop for the current developmental[ist] visions of Inchon city government.

There are many small-scale intermontane basins in the east and west sides of Sobaek *** was generally thought that these basins were mainly formed by the differential erosion due to the difference in the resistance of bed rocks to erosion and *** processes and the effects of geotectonic lines were also suggested as the other basin-forming *** this study,it is intended to elucidate the morphological characteristics of intermontane basins in Sothern *** would be considered that to make a certain morphormetric model for intermontain basin will contribute to elucidate the weathering and mass movement,fluvial erosion as well as the tectonic movement related to the intermontane ***(10×10m) was built from 1:25,000 digital *** basic properties such as area,perimeter,altitude and morphometric characteristics such as circularity,compactness,taperness,and flatness of 37 intermontane basins obtained from the DEM analysis using GIS *** the correlations between those morphometric variables were analyzed using *** several meaningful results were deduced,those results should be cautious to accept due to the *** results are as follows: *** higher the mean altitude of basin somma is without any relevance of the size of basin itself,the smaller the area of basin floor is compared to the area of basin somma,*** stepped geomorphic surfaces at certain altitudes are identified around Jiri Mountains from the analysis of altitude data such as the highest and mean altitudes of basin somma,the altitude of basin floor,*** intermontane basins in source area without any channel flowing through are more circular than that with one or some channels flowing *** meaningful relationship was not found between taperness,flatness and some morphometric variables.

After the breakout of the economic crisis in the fall of 2008,many Japanese manufacturing companies announced a series of organizational restructuring and plant *** resulted in many job losses,devastated the local economies that depended on export-oriented industries,and buoyed up the public anxiety for the *** employment insecurity caused by the economic crisis made us realize the intrinsic problems of mediated employment such as temporary staffing or contract *** workers have employment contracts with temporary agencies or contract companies and not with the companies where they actually *** of the absence of a direct employment contract,mediated workers who lose their jobs do not express opposition to the workplace *** companies,in particular,car and electronics manufacturers,aggressively employed mediated labor to deal with the fluctuation of production and to squeeze the labor *** the economic crisis broke out and an excess of labor accrued,it was the temporary staffs and contract workers that first lost their *** revealed that the flexibility of employment,which companies can obtain by utilizing mediated employment,was founded on the workers’ risk of an unstable life: the risk was actualized by the economic *** my paper,I first examine the spread of mediated employment in *** upsurge of mediated employment in Japan is closely related to the deregulation *** spatial distribution of mediated labor is also analyzed by census ***,I investigate the impacts of the job-cuts after the economic crisis in the case of Oita prefecture where many export-oriented manufacturing companies are located and build a flexible production system by broadly using mediated *** that the job loss was inevitable,some local governments quickly decided to conduct emergency employment *** paper discusses the achievements and limitations of these measures.

As a result of metropolitan suburbanization and rural urbanization,the formation and evolution of urban fringe in China are deeply affected by policies on urban land use,migration,investment and spatial distribution of ***,endogenous interactions between industrial structure and spatial patterns of non-agricultural activities are the core driving forces of their *** on urban fringes in China have long been restricted by the lack of micro-level data since the *** the case of Beijing,based on systematic firm-level data gathered from the National Censuses of Basic Units in 1996 and 2001,this paper inspects the spatial expansion of the urban ***,industrial development and spatial evolution of non-agricultural activities are analyzed in the context of interaction between *** fringe is the best location for manufacturing,especially heavy manufacturing,as well as traditional producer services and living ***,industries with spatial stickiness such as tourism and sports won’t move with the *** the same time,advanced services still concentrate mostly in the city *** diversity of distribution patterns across sectors has induced the results that industrial structure adjustment promotes the expansion and spatial evolution of urban fringe,and that,on the other hand,the stability and dynamics of industrial structure coexist in the moving urban *** factors such as urban planning,ring roads and suburban highways,development zones,land price,amenities and integrated environment are also important driving forces of non-agricultural activities evolution in urban fringe of *** is shown that the combined action of spatial optimization and industrial structure adjustment is an effective solution to economic,spatial and social problems in urban fringes.

Of all the institutional changes made in socialist China’s current economic reforms,the establishment of systems for the transfer and compensation of land use rights must be among the most profoundly influential,because they provide one of very few basic incentives that power the phenomenal urban spatial development in this country,and largely transformed it from a centrally planned process to one that primarily obeys the logic of capital *** to this marketization of urban space,local governments have become more aggressive and competitive in the urban redevelopment process with their administrative and financial ***,industrial groups,with the power to organize SOE’s assets,have proved to be another critical actor which structures the redevelopment of old industrial sites for more economically intensive usage during the process of structural and locational reshaping of *** paper reports on an empirical study carried out in Guangzhou’s Jinhuajie industrial area,which had recently been converted to non-industrial *** try to show how the local government and an industrial group competed and compromised in the redevelopment process and finally reached an agreement on revenue allocation –industrial groups redevelop land,local government enjoy land lease payment and social *** believe that this power structure is also largely true for other regions and other types of land controlling agents in socialist cities.

The Pearl River Delta has witnessed the dramatic proliferation of commodity housing enclaves with gating spatial form in the metropolitan suburban area since 1990,which could be regarded as the globalized and neo-liberal landscape in contemporary urban and geographic ***,this paper examines this process in local social and political context,through which we could regard the commodity housing enclaves as the state projects rather than absolutely independent enclave,coupled with regulatory practices and public impact upon these private *** on macro-level analysis,this paper argues that although the commodity housing enclaves are declared to be the neoliberal,market-oriented restructuring projects superficially,they could be adopted as the strategic political-economic space responding the crisis of national accumulation regime and regulatory framework *** paper illuminates the historic path of communities ranging from work unit compounds to commodity housing enclaves throughout the socialist China,reflecting the processes of destruction,vacancy and reconstruction of state hegemony in local geographical ***,reproduction of built environment is employed as one of the resorts in crisis management at the process of rescaling of state,through which the state could establish the base of sustainable capitalist growth,strong local attachment,effective public management and public *** a micro-level analysis,the commodity housing enclaves are hardly demonstrated as insulated private territories through the approach of local events tracking,rather,the proliferation of private spatial territories involves a paradox increase in public *** to be the self-contained communities,the superior states normally are considered to be the mostly effective and legitimate channel to cope with the contradiction happened inside the ***,in these years the states tend to reinforce the power o

This study analyses forestry cooperatives management from the viewpoint of mergers during 2000’s compare to the 1990’s *** reason why the study focuses on the forestry cooperatives is because the cooperatives have been facing difficulties with deteriorating business situation,even though they are expected to play a vital role in Japanese forest *** study area,Fukushima Prefecture has one of the large forests in Japan so that the study can observe contemporary issues and challenges on *** with the difficulties with forestry in Japan,the Japanese Government has adopted policies to urge them to merge so as to strengthen and rationalize their management and diversify their businesses while the government has been distributing subsidies as public works such as “tending practices paid by the government” to them,which have not been worked ***,temporal recovery of domestic forest resource consumption might cause their management change,so the study focuses on what kinds of advantages and disadvantages merged/unmerged and business diversified/undiversified cooperatives have got during 2000’*** a result,it clarifies that their businesses are diversified under the condition fit to forest resources/tenure in their territories by merged or unmerged cooperatives,and that financial problems causes the cooperatives not to merge each other because merge does not make their business base *** most of the cooperatives rely on public works as their business base,they will confront a difficulty in acquiring public works because Fukushima Prefectural office has changed a way of distributing public works from by negotiated contract to by open *** indicates that forestry cooperatives in this region will weaken in terms of their management,which will cause people in Fukushima to lose important agents of forest management near the *** other words,forestry cooperatives should take various management strategies according to t
