the paper describes the performance of parallel NetCDF output in the INM RAS Earth system model (INMCM). An output library with a compatible interface was developed for the INMCM that allows switching between the original serial output to direct unformatted files and the parallel implementation based on the NetCDF Fortran library. We evaluate the performance of several approaches to organize the data for NetCDF output, namely, storing each variable in a separate file, storing all variables of the same shape in a single file and batching the output by time. the experiments were carried out on two HPC systems that differ in size, interconnect network and storage file system. To study how data volume affects the output performance we considered two versions of INMCM with different spatial resolutions. the NetCDF outperforms the original serial implementation when writing large amounts of output data, but can be slower when writing a large number of small files. Merging 2D variables into a single NetCDF file is crucial to reach the performance of the serial implementation. Time batching technique has proven to be a powerful method to increase the data output performance. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer nature Switzerland AG 2025.

the problem of multiscale computer modeling the processes of supersonic cold gas-dynamic spraying (SCGDS) the nanoparticles onto a substrate is considered. the problem relevance is related to the development of technologies for the manufacture of micro- and nanostructures used in modern microelectronics. In this work, a multiscale approach is used. As its basic mathematical models, the quasi-gasdynamic equations system supplemented by Newton’s equations system, which describes the dynamics of individual particles, and the molecular dynamics method are used. To solve gas-dynamic equations, a classical grid approach based on the finite volume method is used. the particle method is implemented by integrating equations using the symmetric Adams scheme. To implement the molecular dynamics equations, the Verlet scheme is used. When combining these models, many problems arise related to matching the different scales, stability to small disturbances introduced by different scales, and the efficiency of calculations parallelization. this work attempts to study the above problems. Matching the different scales is realized using splitting the general algorithm by physical processes and scales and observing the conservatism principles at the level of the modeled medium macroparameters. Stability to small disturbances is ensured by matching the spatial and time steps of the applied numerical schemes. the efficiency of parallelization is ensured by a combination of the Schwartz domain decomposition method and the algorithms for computers dynamic load balancing. Testing and refinement of parameters and procedures for transition between different levels components of a SCGDS multiscale model confirms the correctness of the proposed approach. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Seismic exploration of fractured zones remains a relevant area of applied scientific interests, which poses a challenge for scientists to develop new parallel algorithms for solving these problems. this manuscript discusses various methods for taking into account fracturing and curved boundaries in heterogeneous geological environments in 2D and 3D formulations of direct seismic exploration problems. the first method is the construction of curvilinear structured grids that directly coincide with the interfaces in the problem, i.e. with geological rock boundaries and cracks. In the second and third approaches, to take into account these interfaces of geological rocks, Chimera (overlapping) grids are used, the nodes of which are located geometrically in the same place as the nodes of the Cartesian background grid, and between which grids nodes the interpolation is carried out. the difference between the second and third approaches is in the methods of taking into account fracturing. In the second approach, a rotated Cartesian overlapping mesh is built around each crack. In the third approach, a curvilinear structured mesh is built around each crack, the nodes of which, on one hand, exactly lie on the crack, and on the other hand, along its edges, exactly hit the nodes of the background Cartesian grid. the influence of the presence of cracks and dimensionality is investigated. Various methods of static decomposition and partitioning of meshes between separate processes are considered. the speed up graphs are compared. Calculations were performed on CPU using Open MPI software package library and the grid-characteristic computational method. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer nature Switzerland AG 2025.

In this paper we propose an improved method for accelerated tests of the MIS structure gate dielectric and for studying the irreversible processes in it. this method is based on applying a ramping current load to a sample with a short injection measurement mode between the increments of the current load. this method allows obtaining a time history of the voltage drop across MIS structure at a constant level of measurement injection current for the whole current load range. this time history can be used to find the parameters characterizing irreversible processes of charge degradation such as density and localization of a charge accumulating in the dielectric film, cross-sections of electron and hole traps, nature of the evolution of charge effects and etc. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the structure transformations and the relaxation processes are studied for the first time by the XPS-method in the melts Ni72Mo14B14 and Zr60Ti20Ni20. the liquid state of metallic melts has a complex structure, which is formed as a result of the interaction of the constituent elements. the evolution of the surface layer composition in the melt has an oscillatory character. the amplitude of the oscillations decreases with time. Comparing the data of the XPS-studies of the solid amorphous and the liquid state one may conclude that the two types of clusters are involved in a competitive process: the clusters which enrich the surface of the amorphous alloy or the melt when the thermodynamical equilibrium is achieved, and the clusters which are located in the subsurface layer. the paper is devoted to study of processes occurring in a higher school, in the field of graduates' graphics studies. We consider the necessity of graphical package knowledge and achieving confident user skills for computer programs. the aim of this study is to identify and analyse the most widespread types of innovation processes practiced by russian companies. For this purpose, an innovation process is represented as a combination of a set of elementary processes. the following processes are considered to be elementary in the paper: creation, imitation, modification and distribution of innovations. At a given moment in time, any of the aforementioned elementary processes or their combinations can be implemented. this approach makes it possible to analyse the structure and dynamics of firms' behavioural mode changes and to identify the main innovation stages. In addition, elementary process specification provides an opportunity to determine the strategic choices of certain groups of companies during the considered time period. the innovation processes of russian manufacturing firms are considered, depending on the degree of technology intensity and size class. As a result, it is established that maximum innovation activity is observed in a high-technology group of russian enterprises. A decrease in the degree of technology intensity leads to a considerable reduction of innovation activity. the exception is the group of low-technology companies. the innovation creation process prevails in the group of high-technology firms, the combination of creation and modification strategies is prevalent in the medium-high technology group and the strategy of insignificant modification is foremost in the medium-low technology group. all abovementioned strategies are used in the low-technology group. It is also demonstrated that the innovation activities of the russian firms increase with the size class, up to a class with 100 to 199 employees. After this level, growth in size negatively affects innovative activity. the dynamic structure of innovation processes in small russian firms consists of the combination of creation, modification and diffusion processes. the dynamic structure of innovation processes in
