this paper studies the generalization of composite nonlinear feedback (CNF) control using arbitrary order set point filters, which focus on the initial stage of the transient response. the set point filters can be used to provide more performance by shortening the rise and settling times of the controlsystem. Furthermore, the filters operate outside the feedback loop, and hence, they do not sacrifice loop robustness. the new method is illustrated by a benchmark problem found in an open literature. the simulation results show that the proposed method improves the set point response more than 10% in terms of settling time.

this paper aims to the time-variant, random and uncertain wireless network delay, a novel approach is proposed that new Smith predictor combined withthe CMAC-PID control for the wireless networked controlsystems (WNCS). this new Smith predictor does not include the prediction models of the network delays, therefore network delays are no need to be measured, identified or estimated on line. It is applicable to some occasions that the network delays are larger than one, even tens of sampling periods. Based on ieee 802.15.4 (ZigBee), the results of simulation experiment show validity of this control scheme, indicate that system has better dynamic performance and anti-jamming ability.

Fractal organizations are a class of bio-inspired distributed hierarchical architectures in which control and feedback information are allowed to flow independently of the position the participating nodes have in the system hierarchy. In this paper we discuss the adoption of a fractal organization in a class of socio-technical systems characterized by a centralized architecture. We present the key architectural traits of the resulting Fractal Social Organization and put forward our conjecture that services based on the presented solution may exhibit significant improvements, e.g., in terms of scalability and performance. In order to provide elements to justify our conjecture we describe how we envision the use of the new organization in two different cases: a framework for semantic service description-and-matching and a low-cost telemonitoring service.

Withthe wide application of modern robots, more concerns have been raised on security and privacy of robotic systems and applications. Although the Robot Operating system (ROS) is commonly used on different robots, there have been few work considering the security aspects of ROS. As ROS does not employ even the basic permission control mechanism, applications can access any resources without limitation, which could result in equipment damage, harm to human, as well as privacy leakage. In this paper we propose an access control mechanism for ROS based on an extended policy-based access control (PBAC) model. Specifically, we extend ROS to add an additional node dedicated for access control so that it can provide user identity and permission management services. the proposed mechanism also allows the administrator to revoke a permission dynamically. We implemented the proposed method in ROS and demonstrated its applicability and performance through several case studies.
