this paper presents the sliding mode observer for sensorless control of 18 slot 14 pole permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system. the 18 slot 14 pole permanent magnet synchronous machine is designed and analyzed. the sliding mode observer (SMO) for sensorless controller is investigated for this motor drives. the tests show that the sliding mode observer for sensorless controller displays a very robust behavior. © 2020 ieee.

In this paper, an observer-based control system is presented for the regulation of biomass concentration in bioreactors. the importance of the observer is highlighted by the dependency of the feedback linearising controller on the measurements of biomass concentration. Further, the discrete nature of output substrate concentration is considered and the performance of the system proposed is analysed through a simulation study using Matlab/Simulink. this study is also used to determine the limit on the sampling partition diameter for which the observer and controller designed give satisfactory performance. the implemented observer-based control system showed satisfactory performance both in terms of stability and convergence for given values of sampling partition diameters.

this paper presents the brushless electrical excited synchronous machine drive system. A rotary transformer transfers the power to the rotor field winding of synchronous machine. A 12 slot - 10 pole brushless excited synchronous machine (BESM) is designed and analyzed. the super-twisting sliding mode direct torque and flux controller (STSM-DTC) is investigated for this motor drives. the tests show that STSM-DTC displays a very robust behavior. © 2020 ieee.

the current teaching mode has been greatly changed, through the combination of "online + offline" way, the integration of traditional teaching and network teaching advantages, and has become an important direction of education information era teaching development. Under the background of epidemic prevention and control, students unified online courses at home, and Internet teaching has become the focus of today's teaching method. the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies such as intelligent agent, natural language processing, pattern recognition and data mining have also provided new means for Internet teaching. the purpose of this paper is to study the application of artificial intelligence technology in college online teaching system and provide better technical suggestions for college online teaching system. Based on the existing teaching system, platform and the corresponding modern programming method and database technology as the foundation, combined with the disadvantages of the present stage in the aspect of teaching in colleges and universities, the author puts forward the concept of online remote network teaching, realizes the flexibility of teaching, explores the remote teaching internal potential concept and mechanism and meets the thirst for flexible time between teachers and students, and the results show that in two months, network teaching pattern to the hall rate is as high as 98%, and in part by collecting university students to online teaching evaluation and to provide reasonable suggestions for online teaching. © 2021, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Changes in the dynamics of steam temperature happens due to several factors such as variation of water level, capacity of loads, error in modelling and others have made the control effort more challenging. In addition, changes in plant model parameters have disturbed the reliability of the system and can jeopardize the consistency of essential oils. A CRONE controller, which stands for Non-integer order robust controller, was used in this paper to satisfy the robustness property in terms of time constant variation and desired phase margin. Steam distillation process modelling was obtained in First Order plus Dead Time (FOPDT) structure where the CRONE element, design specification and gain crossover frequency were addressed in this study. the performance of the proposed controller was evaluated in time and frequency domain to reveal the robustness of the controller. © 2020 ieee

PV standalone systems are challenged by the PV intermittent nature, hence integrating energy storage systems (ESS) is mandatory. In this paper a hybrid battery/supercapacitor ESS is employed, in a standalone PV system, to maintain continuity in power supply. Supercapacitors (SC), featuring fast charge/discharge rates, will store the transient energy peaks reducing battery required capacity, increasing its life span, and minimizing its replacement costs. Moreover, a control scheme is presented to manage the power flow between generation and load sides, thus fulfilling load demands and maintaining DC-bus voltage stability. In this strategy, a protection modification is proposed to prevent battery overcharge, thus limiting its degradation and improving system reliability. All the latter results in a robust PV system with a longer-life battery and capable of preserving energy balance at the DC-bus even at sudden changes. the proposed system effectiveness is verified using MATLAB/Simulink under different scenarios of load and irradiance variations. © 2020 ieee.

Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) is a real-world Non-deterministic polynomial time hard combinatorial optimization problem. Given several points (cities) to be visited, the objective of the problem is to find the shortest possible route (called Hamiltonian Path) that visits each point exactly once and returns hack to the starting point. Several exact, approximate and heuristic algorithms have been proposed to solve the TSP. the objective of this paper is to compare 10 such different algorithms on the basis of cost of the path found and time taken to find that solution in order to identify an algorithm which works most efficiently and thus, can be used in practical scenarios. therefore, the comparative analysis has been made without time constraints as a preliminary test and then with a constraint of 1 second to determine the most efficient algorithm. this algorithm was then used at the core of the web-based tool (a practical use case) developed for release in public domain which helps users find an optimal round-trip route (i.e. Hamiltonian Path) among the points marked on the map. Google Maps API was used for providing map interface and obtaining real-time distance/duration data (matrix) in the web-application front end.

With more than a decade of intensive research and development, wireless sensor network has emerged as a workable solution towards multiple innovative applications. However, the usage of electricity, especially in old buildings and with a centralized system, is still not optimized. therefore, to overcome this, an energy-saving system through human presence detection was being developed and tested using a PIR sensor and data communication using the wireless sensor network approach. Zigbee wireless technology was used to transmit and receive the motion data to indicate any human movement in individual rooms using a centralized air conditioning system. this system works with the automated system, but since the physical switching off system is not touchable in most cases, it is not the focus of this study. Instead, a system was built to only display when an area served by an AHU unit is without users, so the last user can switch off the system manually using the knowledge. With this technology, we can control the use of electricity in an area and reduce unused electricity. Based on a case study in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, with two lecturers' room, it is estimated that the system can save up to RM 680.40 kWh in a year. However, the system still needs to be improved to reduce the cost and maximize the energy saving. © 2020 ieee

this paper focuses on roll rejection control due to rollover accidents frequently occurred especially among the heavy vehicles. A roll control method has been proposed to counter the unwanted roll issue using a steerable-wheel at second axle on a 3-axle semi-trailer truck. PID and skyhook controller has been used in the control structure to reduce the unwanted roll, lateral and yaw motions of the truck vehicle. PID-skyhook parameters are then optimized using PSO to obtain the optimum responses of truck vehicle handling performance. the optimized controller finally implemented into controller showed a significant improvement in suppressing lateral acceleration, yaw rate and roll motion of truck vehicle. © 2020 ieee
