A novel GF(p) crypto processor core architecture is presented in this paper. the core is used to implement a GF(p) elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC). the architecture is such that a single core can be used to implement ECC or alternatively a two core solution can be adopted. As a result, the core architecture allows the exploitation of the parallelism that exists in elliptic curve point addition and doubling. the core architecture results in several advantages over conventional implementations with regard to speed and power consumption.

A concept for a future integer arithmetic unit as well as a first implementation of the arithmetic unit's core as smart pixel detector chip is presented. this architecture is well-suited for a realization with 3-D optoelectronic very large scale integrated (VLSI) circuits. Due to the use of optical interconnections running vertically to the circuit's surface no pin limitation is given. this allows massively parallelism and a higher throughput performance than in all-electronic solutions. To exploit the potential of optical interconnections in VLSI systems efficiently well-adapted low-level algorithms and architectures have to be developed. this is demonstrated for a pipelined arithmetic unit using a redundant number representation. A gate layout for the optoelectronic circuits is given as well as a specification for the necessary optical interconnection scheme linking the circuits with free-space optics. It is shown that the throughput can be increased by a factor of 10 to 50 compared to current all-electronic processors by considering state-of-the-art optical and optoelectronic technology.

this paper addresses the computational cost of the normalized cross-correlation (NCC) algorithm in ultrasound elastography. parallel implementations of the NCC algorithm based on multicore architectures and a graphical processor unit (GPU) are formulated and applied to radio-frequency (RF) data from dynamic elastography experiments. Compared to single computer processor unit (CPU) performances, results show that parallel implementation of the NCC algorithm allows speedups of less than 5 for multi-threaded execution on CPU and up to 85 using a GPU. processing frame rates from 80 to 173 sec -1 have been achieved for large fields of view with good spatial resolution. the trade-off between accuracy, spatial resolution and computational cost in displacement estimation using the NCC algorithm therefore appears obsolete. A low cost embedded auto-stereoscopic game conversion system is presented in this paper. the system is implemented both in software and hardware. the software is run on embedded GPU (E-GPU) to generate the depth map from a traditional 3D game which only has 2D images by extracting and processingthe hidden information which is used to build the scene. then multi-view image is generated by depth image based rendering (DIBR) accelerator which is implemented by hardware. To improve the efficiency, the parallel and pipelined architecture is proposed. the design is verified on FPGA platform. the result shows that the proposed system can convert traditional 3D game to stereoscopic game with low cost and low power. therefore it is suitable for hand held devices.

Attaining a high performance design on a GPGPU requires careful tradeoffs among various design concerns. Data reuse, cache contention, and thread level parallelism, have been demonstrated as three imperative performance factors for a GPGPU. the correlated performance impacts of these factors pose non-trivial concerns when scheduling threads on GPGPUs. this paper proposes a three-staged scheduling scheme to coschedule the threads with consideration of the three factors. the experiment results on a set of irregular parallel applications, when compared with previous approaches, have demonstrated up to 70% execution time improvement.

Signature-based intrusion detection systems have been widely deployed in current network environments to defend against various attacks, but the expensive process of signature matching is a major suffering problem for these detection systems. thus, a high-performance signature matching scheme is of great importance for a signature-based IDS. In our previous work, we have developed an exclusive signature matching scheme that aims to identify a mismatch instead of locating an accurate match and achieved good results in the experiments. Withthe advent of Cloud Computing, IDS as a service (IDSaaS) has been proposed as an alternative by offloading the expensive operations such as the process of signature matching to the cloud. In this paper, we attempt to design a parallel model to conduct the exclusive signature matching in a cloud. In the evaluation, we implemented our model in a cloud environment and investigated its performance compared with Snort. the experimental results indicate that our proposed model can achieve promising performance in such a cloud environment.

Liquid crystal displays in different modes are suitable due to their birefringence properties and wide transmission range. the paper discussed advantages amplitude-phase modulators and focused on boundary conditions for the application in digital holography (generation of 3D light wave) and for dynamic pattern generation. Implementation demands are discussed on the example of an optical system for parallel recording and optical reconstruction of digital hologram. Optical methods based on digital holography are highly effective for diffractive element synthesis. Modern production of digital hologram is characterized by high degree of flexibility and complexity. According to this the use of proposed method is useful for designing and developing an optical system able not only for fringe pattern fabric structures but as well to allow more complex pattern including singular for image forming. We report on a method for synthesis of digital holograms taken with interference of laser beams diffracted on a spatial light modulator. the proposed technique for modeling of adaptive diffractive elements computes the propagation of the complex optical wavefront diffracted by the object and used to determine the needed spatial light modulator (SLM) pattern. the extension of new method of modeling diffraction on amplitude-phase mask and possibilities of its practical application such as computer modeling of diffraction on a SLM, which consists of squared cells, for a wavefront reconstruction are considered.
