the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has revolutionized educational paradigms, with e-learning emerging as a pivotal platform for delivering instructional content. this study focuses on the development and implementation of VirtualTechLab (VTL), an e-learning module tailored for computer hardware fundamentals education at Mapua University's School of Information Technology. Grounded in the principles of the ADDIE model and informed by instructional designtheory and the heutagogical approach, the VTL aims to provide students with a comprehensive and interactive learning experience. through the systematic application of the ADDIE model, the VTL was meticulously crafted to meet the diverse needs of learners, promoting autonomy and practical hands-on experiences. the integration of virtual laboratory environments within the VTL facilitates the seamless transition from theoretical concepts to practical applications, fostering critical skills development in computer hardware fundamentals. Evaluation of the VTL through the Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) revealed positive perceptions from both students and professors, highlighting the system's effectiveness in promoting usability, information quality, and interface quality. the findings underscore the significance of innovative pedagogical approaches and technology integration in enhancing the learning experience. this study contributes to the ongoing discourse on technology-enhanced learning and serves as a benchmark for future research and developments in e-learning modules for computer hardware fundamentals. Further research may explore the long-term impacts of the VTL on student learning outcomes and investigate additional enhancements to optimize user experience and learning efficacy.

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is becoming a powerful tool for the control and optimization of particle accelerators, which is increasingly used in various accelerators. However, the efficacy of these AI algorithms relies on model training, which in turn depends on extensive data concerning the operational states of particle accelerators. therefore, a design of a data acquisition and interlock device for the RF system of particle accelerators has been presented in this paper. the working principles of this device have been analyzed. Device selection and circuit design for the circuit hardware has been conducted. And a preliminary design for the host computer software has been completed. Withthe data acquisition and interlock device designed according to this paper, the key operating parameters of the RF system can be collected and recorded, which can be used to accumulate data resources for the application of artificial intelligence technology. the device is also able to conduct real-time monitoring and judgment of the operating status of the RF system, and play the role of interlock to protect the entire RF system.

In the context of designing of customized products, ensuring the verification of requirements and stakeholder needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner poses significant challenges. this paper proposes a Virtual Prototyping approach, integrating computer-aideddesign and multibody modelling, to leverage their respective advantages. the presented case study involves the integration of two pre-existing robots, a cobot and an Autonomous Mobile Robot, to realize an Autonomous Mobile Cobot tailored to the specific needs of a manufacturing industry. through Virtual Prototyping approach, part of the requirements, including spatial and assembly constraint, are verified by means of CAD, while interaction and behavioural requirements are verified through multibody modelling and simulation. this work highlights the efficacy of Virtual Prototyping in achieving comprehensive design verification for tailored products. By simulating the behaviour and performance of the designed system before physical implementation, Virtual Prototyping reduces the time and costs associated with traditional trial-and-error methods. Moreover, it enables a more thorough exploration of design alternatives and optimization strategies, ultimately improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the design process. this integrated approach showcases the potential of digital tools to enhance the development of complex industrial systems, paving the way for tailored solutions to meet evolving market demands.

Avatars are central to the social experience of a virtual world, yet little is known about what avatars university students naturally choose/design for use in their education - and the subsequent impact on their learning experiences. this paper describes work conducted across three years (2020-2022), where 266 students in total were free to use avatars in on-line lectures/seminars within a semester-long module about virtual reality. A mixture of qualitative and quantitative analysis based on considerable observation, survey and interview data is used to propose a comprehensive framework for avatar design in Higher Education. the framework outlines four emergent themes (design, identity, interaction and anonymity) that characterize the student learning experience as an avatar. Future work should consider a broader range of students/avatars with greater interactivity possibilities, as well as the role of immersion.
