the global aging trend requires a nuanced approach to assistive technology for older adults. this paper summarizes challenges and strategies for technology adoption among aging populations. User-centric design and co-creation are crucial for effective technologies. Challenges like participant selection, feedback attitudes, and trust-building are vital for meaningful user involvement. Accurate assessment of technological literacy in older adults is crucial. Objective measures are needed due to unreliable self-reported proficiency. the fragmented digital ecosystem and digital divide hinder technology adoption. Integrating caregivers into adoption models is crucial. Collaboration and research standards are vital to address societal inequalities. With the increasing demand of the grid as of today, power system structures continuously complexing that's why protection and coordination is a seemingly tedious task for relay engineers. this research aims to design an adaptive coordination that when a change in network topology occur, relay engineers can learn the primary and backup relay pairings of the power system and the relay settings fit for these pairing. the proposed design modified the LINKNET algorithm to adapt in a change in network topology that is originally designed for a fixed topology. the program is coded using Python programming language which is best for adapting Artificial Neural Network on the system, especially for the relay setting optimization. Simulated over 32 test cases of n - 1 contingency, the program was able to provide the primary and backup relay pairings and the optimal relay settings. the tests backed-up by statistical analysis using Mann - Whitney U test provided results of the time of operation for some cases are lower than 0.05 and some cases are larger than 0.05 with the reference case without the n - 1 contingency or no change in network topology. the program created was able to provide the desired relay pairings with optimal settings fir for coordination. this program helps relay engineers to ease their tasks as complex power systems increasingly prevalent. the program provided results that are validated in ETAP illustrating Time - Current Characteristic Curve that shows that when primary protection fails to trip, backup relays were the next to execute. © 2024 IEEE.

this study investigates the effectiveness of Competition-Based Learning (CBL) using Kaggle in teaching Big Data Analytics. through a quasi-mixed research design, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods, data was collected from students who completed the Big Data Analytics module. Results indicate high satisfaction levels among participants, with the majority expressing willingness to recommend CBL using Kaggle to future students. Moreover, the CBL approach significantly enhanced student engagement and improved their understanding of Big Data Analytics concepts and techniques. the matic analysis revealed positive aspects such as real-time scoring and leaderboards, but also highlighted challenges including the lack of structured learning and guidance. Solutions proposed by students include additional support mechanisms, a balance between competition and learning, and diverse competition themes. Overall, this study underscores the potential of CBL using Kaggle to transform Big Data Analytics education, while also emphasizing the need for tailored support and refinement of course design. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to the ongoing development of computer and communication abilities, the IoT is becoming more and more significant in many smart applications. As a result, IoT devices produce plenty of data every day, which provides a strong basis for ML to succeed. the IoT data's strict privacy standards, however, make its machine learning extremely challenging. Numerous privacy-based ML strategies have been developed to safeguard the privacy of data. the majority of current schemes do not provide generic answers and only focus on specific models, which is not the best option for engineering practice. To solve this issue, we proposed a powerful machine learning model that protects privacy within a fog computing scenario. the software service provider (SSP) can train models while protecting the privacy of the data on the fog nodes using the APPML (Advanced Privacy Preserving Machine Learning) framework. Only SSP may access the model parameters, and it is possible to maintain the privacy of data stored at the fog nodes. Experimental results demonstrates that, when compared to the existing systems, our approach lowers the processing and communication overhead and provides the highest privacy preservation. © 2023 IEEE.

Existing deep learning-based MIMO detectors often face substantial memory demands due to the need to store neural network weights, posing a significant challenge to practical implementation. To address this issue, we propose a single-weight neural network, namely SW-Net. By reducing each layer's weight vector to a scalar, the required hardware storage is significantly reduced. Simulation results demonstrate that hardware requirements can be reduced while maintaining bit error rate (BER) performance. Additionally, we present the corresponding VLSI hardware architecture, implemented using TSMC's 90-nm CMOS technology, operating at 707 MHz. this design requires 1109 kGEs and achieves a throughput of 707 Mbps. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is recognized as a valuable tool in various healthcare uses for diagnosing and therapeutic decision-making. Due to the tremendous rise in accessible data and processing capacity, machine learning (ML) models have performed well or greater than doctors in numerous activities. the AI platform needs to be transparent, resilient, and interpretable to adhere to the principles of trusted AI. Present ML systems are alluded to as black boxes because of the absence of understanding of the mechanics related to the decision-making procedures. As a result, before ML can be implemented into ordinary healthcare processes, its transparency and interpretability must be understood. To address this issue, this study presents a method for understanding the transparency and interpretability of ML suggestion systems. We particularly adapt the suggested technique to a chronic condition that is frequent in seniors: heart disease. the suggested approach illustrates the fundamental cause for these suggestions and increases patient trust and interpretability of ML models by assessing the influence of various patient features on the suggestions. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud computing is a well-established model for creating service-centric systems in a traditional scenario. However, when it comes to analyzing and delivering results for a vast quantity of data, cloud computing is constrained by ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, security, and real-time analytics. these constraints can be overcome via with the hybrid design offered by fog and edge computing. the fog and edge based systems reduce the processing time, save operating expenses, and boost security. In edge computing, computational resources are distributed at the network's edge In order to build and run edge computing platforms, additional challenges have been created by the operational size of the system. Computing at the edge decreases latency, increases security, and enhances privacy by offloading tasks from cloud data centers to edge routers and edge nodes. there has been far less attention paid to energy efficiency in edge computing than in cloud data centers due to the complex relationships between edge devices, edge servers, and cloud data centers. Testing the energy efficiency of edge devices, edge servers, and cloud data centers is essential to achieving energy efficiency with edge computing. the purpose of this paper is to provide a general overview of the background and development of edge computing. Our discussion then moved to the key areas involved in edge computing. the final section of the paper discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with edge computing. © 2023 IEEE.

this article studies the designs and implementation of a large aperture emission and imaging common aperture optical transceiver device. the transmission channel is mainly composed of primary and secondary off-axis telescope modules and infrared imaging. Based on spatial 3D measurement and computer-aided calibration, modular benchmark extraction and transmission, multi mirror spatial attitude online adjustment, focusing and image quality compensation, and other technical methods. the stable focusing of the 500m infinite beam axis was achieved, and the emission channel RMS 93nm (working distance 5Km) and imaging channel MTF 0.23(visible, 110lp/mm), 0.5 (infrared, 33lp/mm) were all better than the requirements of the indicators. the design and experimental results have confirmed that the common aperture optical transceiver system has a reasonable structure and reliable performance, meeting the engineering application requirements of laser transmission and reception systems. © 2025 SPIE.

E-learning satisfaction is an important factor in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of distance learning. the use of Big Data technology can have a significant impact on e-learning satisfaction. the purpose of this research is to examine the implementation of big data in e-learning and the factors that can increase student e-learning satisfaction. this study uses a quantitative survey method with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. the research respondents were randomly selected e-learning students from several educational institutions that use Big Data technology in their e-learning platforms. there are 663 data collected through online questionnaires, then the data is processed through SmartPLS to test the research hypothesis. the results of the study show that the use of Big Data technology in an e-learning environment has a positive impact on student satisfaction. Several factors determine e-learning satisfaction including usability requirements, quality level, learning competence, and material relatedness. Relatedness to e-learning is more important in increasing student motivation in learning, as can be seen from the correlation value which is more dominant in forming student satisfaction. the e-learning platform must have navigation that is easy for users to understand and use. Learning content must be well-designed and follow established learning standards. the use of Big Data technology in e-learning can have a significant impact on student satisfaction and the quality of learning. Future research can develop a more personal and adaptive e-learning platform, using Big Data technology as the basis for its development. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital Transformation (DT) has become a strategic imperative for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) banks, including for Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPRBCo) in Indonesia, which often face constraints in infrastructure, technology adoption, and regulatory compliance. While prior research has underscored the importance of DT strategy and architecture for success in large banking institutions, how these insights apply to smaller-scale banks remains underexplored. this paper develops an Enterprise Architecture (EA) blueprint for BPRBCo, an SME-scale bank, following a design Science Research approach that encompasses problem explication, requirement specification, design and development, demonstration, and evaluation. Data was collected through semistructured interviews and triangulated with internal documents. By employing the latest best practice TOGAF Standard 10th Edition from preliminary planning to migration, the study proposes an integrated architecture featuring core banking enhancements and loan management automation. the resulting blueprint, incorporated into BPRBCo's DT Strategy, provides a replicable roadmap for aligning technology investments with business objectives. this research contributes both theoretically by extending EA discourse to smaller-scale banking contexts - and practically by offering actionable guidance for BPR-scale organizations seeking to achieve successful DT despite limited resources. © 2025 IEEE.
