Humanoids are increasingly used in the service sectors around the world to work with, or assist humans. However current humanoid designs place limitations on direct engagement with the human in terms of safety and usability. In this paper, we present an approach for the control of hybrid, high-speed and safe human-robot interaction systems with highly non-linear dynamic behavior. the proposed approach comprises the three soft computing techniques, namely back propagation neural network, fuzzy and genetic algorithms. this open-loop controller was applied to a Bridgestone Hybrid Robot Arm (BHRA). BHRA has three electric motors and four artificial muscles, arranged in an agonist/antagonist, and opposing pair configuration, that drive the five-degrees of freedom of the robot arm. the behaviors of the artificial muscles are observed under the effects of the links driven by the electric motors and it is shown that the proposed biologically-plausible controller could produce more accurate trajectories at higher speeds when compared to conventional PID and stand alone or combined versions of Neural Network and Fuzzy controllers. ©2010 IEEE.

Energy meters used to measure the electric power usage of consumers have evolved since their inception from electro-mechanical to digital and now to intelligent devices called smart meters (SM). Modifications in design and working principles have efficiently improved energy saving and energy theft detection (ETD). Smart meter measure and record electricity consumption to analyze, profile the recorded energy data on the real time data without human intervention. this statistic is used to predict the consumer's energy usage, and the anomaly in the consumption leads to the detection of theft if it occurs. Since it is challenging to make energy theft detection system foolproof against all the methods but, machine learning (ML) techniques are considered the effective methods to detect the energy theft efficiently. Our paper studies various energy stealing methods in the energy meters and the proposed solutions put forth by the researchers in the literature. the study presents an efficient ETD technique by using the XGBoost ensemble ML technique on the SM data for high detection rates and low false positives rates. the results achieved using the Xgboost method were 93.15 % detection rate with only 3.58% false-positive rate followed by Adaboost classifier and random forest having 88.56%, 81.33% and 5.10%, 1.89% as detection and false-positive rates, respectively © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, an accurate and practical camera lens model is proposed to be applied in realistic rendering of lens-related effects. the optical modeling of this new model is firstly presented from two aspects: lens surface modeling and formulation of ray tracing equations. then, a number of tunable models for controlling lens properties are introduced and combined together to determine overall imaging performance. An implementation framework for this lens model is presented from two important aspects: its internal working framework and a new rendering pipeline for integrating it into a general ray tracer. In contrast to existing lens models, this new one is characterized by its ability to accurately model the image formation process and its friendly tunable models to control its lens properties. As a consequence, it is capable of simulating complex lens-related effects without too much expertise on lens optics. Finally, multiple rendering experiments are performed to demonstrate the ability and usage of this novel model to simulate a variety of complex lens-related effects.

In this paper we present a prototypical dialog system adaptive to verbal user intelligence. Verbal intelligence (VI) is the ability to analyze information and to solve problems using language-based reasoning. VI can be analyzed by the number of reused words, lemmas, n-grams, cosine similarity and other features. Here we concentrate on the application of VI in a human-computer interaction (HCI) and how this value can be used by the dialog management to adapt the dialog flow, and complexity at run-time. In our work complexity as well as informative value of presented information can be reduced or increased when encountering human-computer interaction by individually adapting to a lower or higher verbally intelligent user. Especially in intelligent environments, where user's may rely on speech as their primary interaction modality, the adaptation of system instructions to the the user's VI could prove helpful.

Abrasive flow machining technology has become an effective way for micro-hole precise machining. In this paper,we design an equipment for abrasive flow machining to achieve precise machining for peculiar parts. the Fluent,fluid dynamics software, is used here to simulate the abrasive flow micro-hole processing state. We can achieve an ideal machining program for abrasive flow through comparative analysis to different kind of processing program.

Efficient use of FPGA resources requires FPGA-based performance models of complex hardware to implement one model cycle, i.e., one time-step of the original synchronous system, in several implementation cycles. Generally implementation cycles have no simple relationship with model cycles, and it is tricky to reconstruct the state of the synchronous system at the model-cycle boundaries if only implementation-cycle-level control and information is provided. A good debugging facility needs to provide: complete control over the functioning of the target design being simulated;fast and easy access to all the significant target design state for both monitoring and modification;and some means of accomplishing deterministic execution when the target design is a multicore processor running a parallel application. Moreover, these features need to be provided in a manner which does not incur substantial resource and performance penalties. In this paper, we present a debugging technique based on the LI-BDN theory. We show how the technique facilitates deterministic model-cycle-level debugging. We used it to build the debugging infrastructure for Arete, which is an FPGA-based cycle-accurate multicore simulator. the resource and performance penalties of our debugging technique are minimal;in Arete the debugging infrastructure has area and performance overheads of 5% and 6%, respectively. © 2012 IEEE.

this paper addresses the problem of moving obstacle detection for autonomous mobile robots in unknown urban environments through the fusion of (vehicle-mounted) forward looking laser and vision sensors. In this approach we reparameterize the 2D gaussian distribution of the laser free-configuration eigenspaces by vision saliency gaussian kernel function. the approach uses bi-sensor paradigm to achieve greater effective mapping of the environment and improved accuracy in obstacle position estimation. Where the laser lower dimensional manifolds provide an eigenvector which corresponds to the free configuration space of the high order geometric representation of the environment and vision based edge detection followed by the saliency mapping provides the road detection and existance of dynamic obstacles on the road. We have shown that while the vectorial combination of eigenvectors at discrete time scan-frames of laser data manifest a trajectory, and once followed and fused with the vision sensor data, enables mobile robot to build an efficient and accurate online environment map free of obstacles. We demonstrated this process using real-time NAVLAB CMU (Autonomous Jeep's) data-set which is a good representation of autonomous mobile robot's navigation in an urban environment. © 2010 IEEE.

In order to adapt to the inconstancy of business environments and service requirements, a model of dynamic workflow is defined. It can be used to analyze and implement dynamic processes and process changes automatically. the dynamics of processes depends on many factors including the current state, input data, and customer-defined functions and so on. the effectiveness of process changes can be evaluated through checking both functional and non-functional factors, including soundness, I/O equivalence, compatibility, QoS, and cost of change deployment. the effectiveness of process changes is a paramount indicator to decide the rationality of process changes. Process dynamics May depend on both structural changes and functional changes which constitutes the two methods of process change deployment. Before changes are made, the effectiveness is considered to make a final decision. this paper adopts a DPLWN (Dynamic Programmable Logic Workflow) model based on Petri nets to design and implement dynamic business processes and analyze process changes by presenting an algorithm to evaluate the effectiveness. A prototype is given to deploy online and offline process changes. © 2010 IEEE.

As an independent visual language, colour is an important modelling elements and narrative means in the animation. As an independent aesthetic object, colour has a rich aesthetic symbolic meaning in Japanese aesthetics. the significant ethnic characteristics of Japanese Anime are unique in the world the Anime designers are adept in combining deep images of traditional colour system and animation design factors perfectly, which is one of important factors that a strong ethnic style of the works forms. By studying deeply colours of the Japanese Anime, this passage analyses that aesthetic consciousness of traditional colours such as white, green, red and black and traditional colour aesthetic ideas influence Japanese Anime colour processing in order to discuss causes of colour nationality tendency.
