Mental workload is an important indicator of an operator's performance when executing a certain task. As a design concept, it is fundamental for monitoring and assessing his interaction with technological devices, such as imaging systems. A bad design can affect the mental workload of the operator, and therefore, becomes useful to assess it while performing the required tasks. this work presents a tool for cognitive workload assessment that is composed of two open-source and low-cost hardware parts: an electroencephalography system and an eye-tracker. Both are synchronized via an open-source software: Lab Streaming Layer. this paper describes the architecture of the sensor system, considering also specially developed hardware and software components that were included to allow the integration of the different subsystems. In order to show the performance of the system as tool to assess some psycho-physical indicators, examples of dedicated signal processing are also presented.

Although distributed systems are widely used nowadays, their implementation and deployment is still a time-consuming, error-prone, and hardly predictive task. In this paper, we propose a methodology for producing automatically efficient and correct-by-construction distributed implementations by starting from a high-level model of the application software in BIP. BIP (Behavior, Interaction, Priority) is a component-based framework with formal semantics that rely on multi-party interactions for synchronizing components. Our methodology transforms arbitrary BIP models into Send/Receive BIP models, directly implementable on distributed execution platforms. the transformation consists of (1) breaking atomicity of actions in atomic components by replacing strong synchronizations with asynchronous Send/Receive interactions;(2) inserting several distributed controllers that coordinate execution of interactions according to a user-defined partition, and (3) augmenting the model with a distributed algorithm for handling conflicts between controllers preserving observational equivalence to the initial models. Currently, it is possible to generate from Send/Receive models stand-alone C++ implementations using either TCP sockets for conventional communication, or MPI implementation, for deployment on multi-core platforms. this method is fully implemented. We report concrete results obtained under different scenarios.

Chinese papers have become a major resource for Chinese researchers to learn about the status of their *** filtering technique can help people to find useful information among these resources online. An efficient information filtering approach is needed to prioritize Chinese papers so that Chinese researchers can spend less time searching for papers of their interest. Since traditional collaborative filtering algorithm has the problems of sparse matrix and low accuracy, which will influence the results of prediction. this paper presents the architecture for Chinese texts filtering. An algorithm based on the similarity of information items is also proposed. It can solve the sparse matrix problem and improve the efficiency of prediction. Preliminary experiment shows the efficiency of this algorithm.
