At ICEL 2014 in Valparaiso the authors presented a paper on the importance of developing metacognition in students, to support changes and developments in pedagogy and learning models. Following on from that paper, we now consider and present outcomes from three projects reflecting different stages of the learning continuum, with which we are engaged. Firstly, the Computing at Schools project in the UK has been running for over five years, and has been successful in gaining the support of the UK government for the introduction of computer Science teaching in schools at both primary and secondary levels. Critical to the success of this project is a change in the pedagogic model adopted by the schools, moving from fairly standard instructivist models for teaching in the primary schools and in teaching coding and factual information to more constructivist approaches, using flip classrooms and other TEL (technology enhanced learning) tools and techniques to help pupils develop Computational thinking skills. Within our own University, we have been working on a project called Greenwich Connect, which aims to provide our students with a comprehensive set of online services and facilities supporting all aspects of the student experience. As part of this project staff are encouraged to develop learning materials using TEL tools, and to adopt more constructivist and student-centric teaching approaches. Within the UK University context, we already have an excellent example of a strong constructivist, student centric teaching model in the PhD studentship. Reliable behavior of systems of autonomous agents - such as collections of deployed robots - is difficult to attain. Agents could provide mutual support, but lack of coordination may weaken, rather than increase reliability. We propose collective reuse of replaceable software components among autonomous agents, based upon a shared factory architecture. Coordinated replacement is achievable on-the-fly, whatever the component status: idle, runnable or actually running. Replacement propagation among agents grows faster with increasing numbers of agents for practical collection sizes, as measured by a reliability speedup. the architecture was demonstrated by simulations combining real and virtual robots.

Assistive devices such as passive or active orthoses are used in the cases of lower limb damage. For the design of an active orthosis, it is necessary to take into account the physical parameters of the patient and to calculate the characteristics of the actuator for joint articulation. It is important to decide which type of orthosis is most appropriate to use, as well as whether the use of orthosis improves or deteriorates human walking. In this paper the developed computer models for analysis of data obtained from an autonomous adaptive system for actuation, data acquisition and control of active ankle-foot orthosis are presented. the system can operate in three modes: data collection mode, assistive mode and data monitoring mode. Mathematical model of the orthosis together withthe control unit and actuator for positioning of the foot orthotic segment and the dynamic system simulation is done in Matlab Simulink and SimMechanics. A graphical program written in MATLAB receives and visualizes the data during walking, giving us the representation of the signals obtained from the autonomous system. For visualization of the signals measured in real time along a treadmill in laboratory conditions, a Lab View virtual instrument has developed.

Withthe rapid development of Space Information Network and users' demand for communication services, interconnecting heterogeneous space networks becomes a new trend of SIN development. Networks using different protocols, such as TCP/IP, CCSDS and DTN, cannot communicate directly. In order to interconnect heterogeneous networks and face the problems brought by the challenged environment, this paper designs a multi-protocol onboard router which depends on the "store-and-forward" mechanism in DTN network protocol, as a relay withthe ability of multi-protocol switching in order to support communication services among heterogeneous networks.
