Population aging is an important trend in social development as well as a commonglobal reality. In a digital society, difficulties in applying technology and barriers to accessing information limit elders' travel experience. Although many digital products, including mobile, have been age-adapted under the call of the government and society, many problems still lead to the inability to truly meet the needs of the elderly. In order to narrowthis gap, this paper proposes to combine the mental modelwith the concept of service design and apply it to the elderly-oriented interactive interface of tourism, which can help the elderly plan and participate in tourism activities more pleasantly. First of all, we deeply entered the living field of the elderly as volunteers to conduct observations, interviews, and questionnaires on the elderly group and collate specific data. Afterward, based on the collated data, we constructed the mental model of elderly-oriented tourism interaction design. Finally, combined with the concept of service design, we constructed the modeling frameworks, such as user profile, service system, and user journey, in order to better understand the needs, pain points, and opportunity points in the service process, and then formed a specific plan of interaction design. the results show that this study can realize the elderly orientation and the group intelligence innovation of tourism interaction and also provide reference and inspiration for the fuzzy front-end development of the human-computer interaction interface.

Sustainability is continuously gaining attention from different software research disciplines and organizations because of the impacts of human activities on the planet aided by software products and services. the process of creating and developing these software products and services through agile has gained significant attention with different guidelines and frameworks proposed to support sustainability. However, there is the challenge of a few concrete illustrations that exemplify how these software sustainability design guidelines and frameworks have been applied in agile practice, specifically Scrum by software development practitioners. this creates no common ground for software development practitioners to understand their role in promoting sustainability during software design and development. this paper explores integrating sustainability into agile software requirement gathering, focusing on the Scrum framework. the outcome presented in this study represents early results from an ongoing case study with an agile development team in the industry.

Blood vessel segmentation is the process of identifying and describing blood vessels from retinal pictures, which is required for quantitative analysis and anomaly detection. However, the accuracy and efficiency of the current blood vessel segmentation approach are frequently inadequate. By using deep learning techniques for blood vessel segmentation, it aims to increase retinal analysis's effectiveness and precision. Based on our findings, UNet outperforms FCN (94.02%) and SegNet (95.89%) in terms of accuracy, reaching a whopping 98.89%. UNet is well-suited for biomedical image segmentation tasks because to its symmetric encoder-decoder structure and skip connections, which allow for good feature extraction and spatial preservation. A user interface is used to provide the segmented image when a retinal picture is injected. It helps in the creation of computer-aided diagnostic tools for retinal diseases and showing in the application by providing a trustworthy method for correct blood vessel segmentation, which is essential for early detection and monitoring of various ocular pathologies. © 2024 IEEE.

the last decade has witnessed the blooming growth of healthcare chatbots in behavior interventions, elderly care, healthcare education, online diagnosis, and elsewhere. To meet the users' expectations and preferences, there is a need to investigate how to design social characteristics and communication modalities for healthcare chatbots serving different healthcare scenarios. this study introduces a co-design approach to address the challenges and uncertainties faced by users in virtual healthcare environments. By engaging users in an early design phase, the results provide insights into their attitudes and preferences for healthcare chatbots. It indicated that in different healthcare scenarios, users have varying psychological needs and considerations regarding the social characteristics and communication modalities of medical chatbots. Five kinds of healthcare chatbots are summarized: patient support services, health lifestyle and daily management, telemedicine and virtual health, emotional and mental health support, and assistance in medical work and research. Guidelines are proposed to inform the design of these chatbots, which can offer empirical support and practical guidance for future healthcare chatbot design.

With the development of mobile communications technology, smart phone has become a necessity in people's life. the aggravation of population aging in China draws the society's more attention to the market of smart phone for the aged. Being convenient, smart phone provides the aged with a brand new reading mode and a flexible reading environment. However, this advantage changes elderly users' habit of using eyes and causes visual fatigue. this research explores the relationship between smart phone screen color combination and visual identification, visual fatigue of the aged. Combining color criterion RGB adopted by most displayers with neutral colors black and white, the author probes into the influence of smart phone screen color combination on visual identification and visual fatigue through experiment. the experiment in this research is about the influence of mobile phone screen color combination on visual identification of the aged. the results showed that the best color sample for male subjects was white on a blue background, while the best color sample for females was green on a blue background.

Camouflaged Object Detection (COD) aims to identify target objects with high similarity to the surrounding environment in complex scenes, and has high application value in military, medical and other fields. this paper proposes a Receptive enhanced based Multi-scale feature fusion network, termed as RMNet. Firstly, it uses the popular pyramid visual network PVTv2 for feature extraction. By overlaying the target area amplification module OAA and deep interaction guidance module DIDM on it, the position ability for camouflaged objects in complex scenes is improved;Secondly, design an enhanced receptive field module REM to enhance the edge perception ability of camouflaged objects;Finally, the feature fusion module MCFM are designed through cross scale hierarchical connections between adjacent levels, effectively improving the accuracy of camouflage object detection. the presented model is evaluated on three highly challenging benchmark datasets, including CAMO, CHAMELEON and COD10K. the evaluation results show that compared with the current popular methods, our method demonstrates superior performance. © 2024 Interfaces and Human computer Interaction. the research was centered on adapting and assessing a new, unique game concept. the game onKeys presents a new approach and poses as an alternative method for improving typing skills. However, despite offering a promising avenue, the game still grapples with certain limitations. Utilizing the MDA Framework, the study seeks to integrate additional game components into onKeys and evaluate its effectiveness in improving typing skills. A paired T-test is used to assess the Pre-Test and Post-Test data. the System Usability Scale gathers subjective feedback about the game design's usability. this study found that the onKeys game has little impact on players' typing speed and accuracy, which may be attributed to a higher average typing speed, short period of playtime or a small sample size. However, upon reviewing the record and survey data, particularly the System Usability Score, it becomes evident that the game design still has potential. Further research can delve deeper into this game concept and design. © 2024 IEEE.

this study focuses on the application of the SECI model in chemistry experiment teaching to enhance students' ability to integrate chemistry knowledge and competitiveness. Current chemistry experiment teaching suffers from fragmented content and single teaching methods, leading to students' insufficient knowledge integration ability. this research adopts a mixed-methods approach, constructs a conceptual model based on the SECI model, encompassing four stages: socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization. Data is collected through observation, testing, and other methods, statistical analysis is used to evaluate teaching effectiveness. the study uses the salt hydrolysis experiment as the example. After practical application, an assessment is conducted. the expected outcomes of this research are to validate the effectiveness of the SECI model in chemistry experiment teaching, provide a practical teaching model, assist students in improving their chemical experiment capabilities, and contribute to the development of chemistry education. © 2025 IEEE.

Many studies have been carried out to establish the effectiveness of conversational agents on the behavior of older people with dementia with positive findings. In recent years, studies have shown that conversational agents have potential in addressing behavioral and communication challenges for people with dementia and their caregivers. these technologies have been shown to provide cognitive stimulation, encourage social interaction, provide personal assistance and much more that will be mentioned throughout the paper. In this study, we describe and report on the co-design process that was utilized for developing voice-based conversational agents. We describe the insights and recommendations that emerged from observing the three focus groups that included individuals with dementia and their caregivers. In this work, we explore the effectiveness of using co-design activities in the creation of voice-based conversational agents for people with dementia. We do this by addressing three key research questions: 1) What type of challenges and barriers affect the implementation of the co-design process for people with dementia and their caregivers? 2) How can we co-design technologies with participants who are directly involved in the provision of care for people with dementia? and 3) In what way does the resulting assistive technology support the provision of care for people with dementia and their caregivers. At the end of the study a number of challenges and insights are mentioned. the paper is organized into section introduction, literature review, results, discussions and conclusions.

the fast development of immersive virtual reality (iVR) offers innovative teaching methods, particularly in history education. Research has explored iVR's pedagogical benefits and challenges, but there are few studies with a focus on design of virtual environments to support history education. this scoping review explores the potential of improving teaching and learning that has been presented in previous studies of iVR design. While some iVR applications have been designed considering the potential to provide narrative to the user, fewer were designed to support critical thinking and methodological approaches to history as a science. this study underscores the need for further development in iVR design for critical and scientific thinking and provides suggestions for how to integrate iVR into history education. the conclusion of the study was that without thoughtful design, iVR would add limited value to learning.
