Speech command recognition (SCR) services for smart homes rely on enterprise cloud servers and a fast internet connection. this negatively impacts service availability in offline use, and it raises privacy concerns in online use. the utilization of high computational resources on Internet-of-things (IoT) nodes and IoT gateways, allows for traditionally cloud-based services to be implemented closer to the end users. In this paper, we propose a SCR system that consists of an energy-efficient IoT node that communicates over a private BLE home network with an IoT gateway. Feature extraction on sound signals is performed on the IoT node, and speech command classification is performed on the IoT gateway using a novel deep neural network (DNN) model. We evaluate the DNN model accuracy of the proposed system using k-fold cross validation, and tune it based on the effect of different feature extraction parameters on the prediction accuracy, the IoT node energy consumption and system latency. the proposed system performs a task (sound acquisition, feature extraction, transmission and classification) with accuracy higher than 87.8%, latency similar to 1.136 sec, and consumes similar to 0.87 J of energy on the IoT node per task. the estimated system battery life is more than 422 days when performing a task per minute using a 3.7 V, 2000 mAh battery. the long-term battery life and the small footprint of the proposed system, make it ideal for cable-free discrete smart home installations and for wearable devices, while its offline availability reduces privacy concerns.

Accurate prediction of future incoming workloads to cloud applications, such as future user request count, is critical to proactive auto-scaling, and in general, critical to the cost-effectiveness of cloud deployments. However, designing a generic predictive framework that can accurately predict for any types of workloads is difficult, especially when the workload is dynamic and can change to a pattern that has not been observed in the training data sets. However, existing workload prediction solutions typically rely on complex machine learning models, which require comprehensive training data, making it difficult for them to handle dynamic workloads. Moreover, the training of existing workload prediction solutions are also expensive in terms of both time and computing resources. this paper presents a generic and low-cost online workload prediction framework, called CloudBruno, which combines the more accurate LSTM models with less expensive but fast SVM models to achieve high accuracy and low training overhead. When compared to existing predictors, CloudBruno had at least 8.8% lower error than existing deep learning-based predictors for a highly-dynamic workload that does not have comprehensive training data (i.e., has changes unknown to training data). For workloads with comprehensive training data, CloudBruno's error was at most 2.5% higher than optimized deep learning-based predictors. More importantly, CloudBruno can effectively execute on a free cloud CPU, allowing it to be used as an online workload predictor without additional cost.

Our sense of ourselves is inextricably linked to our looks. It's required for everyday interactions, communication, and other routine duties. Face recognition algorithms that are both durable and perfect are required to construct fully automated systems that analyse the data contained in face photographs, and a variety of methodologies are currently being used. Partial facial occlusion is one of the most difficult challenges in face recognition. In real-world applications, face recognition algorithms can recognize faces hidden under masks, scarves, or sunglasses, hands on the face, things carried by a person, or external sources. the outcome, when compared to other existing algorithms, produces the best results. When utilising the suggested dataset, they provide high accuracy and a low loss function. With both trainable and non-trainable parameters, the suggested model performs admirably. the above-average accuracy of 80% indicates a strong performance in facial recognition. Face recognition from video and photos is extremely important. © 2021 IEEE.

this study addresses the increasingly encountered challenge of data clustering. We present a comparative study to data clustering for cloud computing using Fuzzy C-MEANS and Adaptive Resonance theory. To reduce variance and improve generalization ability, we used a resampling method based on 10-fold cross-validation. the typical initialization scheme is applied to improve the convergence speed of training and thus, reach the optimal solution. Experimental results on cloud computing datasets showed that the typical initialization-based Fuzzy Adaptive Resonance theory model is effective and achieves improved accuracy for pattern recognition task compared to Fuzzy C-MEANS. the integration of data along a common spatial component remains an obstacle in many problem spaces. One promising method for integrating data in such a way is through the use of a common, underlying spatial reference system, such as a Discrete Global Grid (e.g., the S2 Grid System), and pre-computing spatial relations between features and the constituent components at a spatial resolution appropriate for the data and use case. that is, by emphasizing the notion of the cell, we can examine what is in a cell, predict contents of its parent and child cells, and quickly get an overview of spatially co-located features and regions of interest without having to directly compute spatial interactions. this paper provides an ontology design pattern, to be used as a structural template, for modeling how features or regions map onto a hierarchical grid system and addresses how the attributes of these features may be inherited upwards or downwards through the hierarchy. We furthermore provide a motivating example and implementation.

Sleep posture has been proven to be a crucial index for sleep monitoring in the Internet of Medical things (IoMT). In this paper, an edge-computing system based on a smart mat for sleep posture recognition in IoMT is proposed. the system can recognize postures unobtrusively with a dense flexible sensor array. To meet the requirements of embedded system in IoMT, a light-weight algorithm that includes pre-processing, EdgeNet pre-training, model quantization, model deployment is proposed. Finally, the complete algorithm is deployed in embedded systems (STM32) and edge computing for sleep posture monitoring is implement in IoMT. through a series of short-term and overnight experiments with 21 subjects, results exhibit that the accuracy of the short-term experiment is up to 92.10% and the overnight experiment is up to 75.43%. After quantization, the accuracy of the overnight is up to 74.79%, and the runtime of the complete algorithm is about 65ms in the STM32. Compared with other methods, edge-computing systems have the advantages of low power consumption, low cost, low latency, high reliability, and no risk of privacy leakage. With the promising results, the proposed system is capable of providing sleep posture recognition and can be integrated into IoMT as an edge device. © 2022, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

there is abundance of resume builder tools used to design the resume of the job seeker in the simplest way but still their resume cannot get shortlisted. By keeping this in mind so many professionals are still working on it to build the resume in the smartest way. In our proposed system, we have designed a prototype which uses the voice of the jobseeker. We have proposed a desktop application in which user is not responsible for resume format rather the application interacts with user like an assistant and collects the data from the user using voice. Our tool is based on Speech-To-Text (STT) and Text-To-Speech (TTS) and other APIs which we will discuss in the paper. © 2021 IEEE.

this paper provides an analytical review of the subject area, approaches and methods for real-time control systems with application of the machine learning. the review helps to choose approaches to control robotic devices, methods of artificial intelligence to perform pattern recognition and classification, technologies to design a control system and simulate a robotic device. the design and software implementation stage involved the creation of a structural diagram and description of the selected technologies, training a neural network for recognition and classification of geometric objects, software implementation of control system components. the control system was implemented using the Swift programming language and other technologies, and the configuration and creation of a neural network using the CreateML framework.
