Since the COVID-19 pandemic, video live-streaming technologies that ensure learning continuity have evolved rapidly. With the epidemic under control in China, a growing number of colleges classroom teaching will be online live simultaneously. Traditional offline teaching will gradually transform to the combination of online and offline mode. With the demand for the normality high-definition online live-streaming, the traditional live broadcast system faces the problems of limited scalability, poor fault tolerant ability and poor user experience. In this paper, a distributed online live-streaming system cross multiple campuses which based on SRS is designed and realized. through dynamic distributed push, upstream and downstream traffic separation, and multi-level load balancing mechanism, the system can satisfy the need of the automatic and unattended normal video live-streaming teaching of large-scale classrooms. In this loosely coupled system, all components are distributed on each campus and communicate via message queues and HTPP API. the system has been applied to Xi'an Jiaotong University daily online and offline teaching for 700 classrooms spread over three campuses.

In recent years, the proliferation of highly dynamic graph-structured data streams fueled the demand for real-time data analytics. For instance, detecting recent trends in social networks enables new applications in areas such as disaster detection, business analytics or health-care. parallel Complex Event Processing has evolved as the paradigm of choice to analyze data streams in a timely manner, where the incoming data streams are split and processed independently by parallel operator instances. However, the degree of parallelism is limited by the feasibility of splitting the data streams into independent parts such that correctness of event processing is still ensured. In this paper, we overcome this limitation for graph-structured data by further parallelizing individual operator instances using modern graph processing systems. these systems partition the graph data and execute graph algorithms in a highly parallel fashion, for instance using cloud resources. To this end, we propose a novel graph-based Complex Event Processing system GraphCEP and evaluate its performance in the setting of two case studies from the DEBS Grand Challenge 2016.

the objective of this study is to address a scheduling issue arising in production workshops, specifically dealing with unrelated parallel machine scheduling integrating flexible and periodic maintenance interventions. Machines, while operational, consume varying amounts of energy based on their state: idle states consume less energy than active ones. Additionally, energy consumption is influenced by both the production job and the specific *** goal is to minimize two functions: the first pertains to reducing production and maintenance earliness/tardiness, while the second focuses on minimizing energy consumption. To address this problem, a Mixed Integer Linear Program (MILP) is proposed. the ϵ—constrained method is employed for computing the Pareto front, and further adaptation involves applying the Multi-Objective Simulated Annealing algorithm (MOSA) to handle instances of substantial *** proposed MILP model demonstrates the ability to accurately determine the Pareto front for up to 30 production jobs and 2 machines on literature benchmarks within a timeframe of less than 1 hour. Moreover, the computed metrics proves the effectiveness of the proposed MOSA.

Online piracy and the spread of deep false content have become major issues in the digital age. In order to combat the widespread distribution of unlicensed information, notably through the use of deep fake technologies, this article offers “Deep Shield,” a unique solution employing federated learning techniques. Deep Shield uses a network of decentralised nodes to spread the capabilities of distributed machine learning while protecting user data privacy. We use federated learning to let several stakeholders, including platforms, regulatory authorities, and content providers, train a powerful deep learning model together without disclosing private information. By aggregating model changes and preserving data isolation, our technique ensures privacy compliance and reduces the risk of data breaches. Our research of the Deep Shield framework's design, training procedure, and deployment tactics is thorough. On a large collection of stolen content and deep fake films, we ran comprehensive trials to assess its efficacy. the findings show that Deep Shield considerably improves the identification and deletion of illegal information while upholding a high standard of privacy protection.

Stateful network services are a growing population of applications in the Internet,whose architecture relies more and more on COTS components. A good parallel programming model is the key to the success of network *** this paper we argue that Stage-based parallel programming model is the most suitable candidate,which takes the whole service logic as a set of stages interconnected by event queues,and in each stage,one or multiple threads reside to service *** we also reveal several key design principles for this model.1)the number of stages should not be over 10 for a single CPU system.2)For stages with blocking calls,a good estimation of the number of threads for that stage can be gotten by(call arrival rate*blocking time) and moreover excessive threads give minor performance degradation.3)To deliver message quickly,it is much better to locate this part of service in a separate non-blocking stage.

this research explores the use of History to enhance education in the field of ICT For Sustainability (ICT4S) in response to a challenge from the ICT4S 2023 conference. No previous studies were found in ICT4S but the literature on History and Education for Sustainable Development is reviewed. An ICT4S lecturer collaborated with History lecturers to add an historic parallel to each week's teaching on a Sustainable Business and computing unit for final year undergraduate BSc Business computing students. A list of the topics and rationale is provided. Student perceptions were surveyed before and after the teaching and semi-structured interviews carried out. A majority of students saw relevance to their degree and career. there was an increase in the proportion of students with interest in History. the paper explores the lessons learned from the interdisciplinary collaboration, including topic choice, format and perceived value. the project has enhanced the way we approach our subjects as computing and history educators. We believe this is the first empirical, survey-based study of the use of history to enhance ICT4S education. the team will extend the research to a larger unit covering a wider range of computing degrees.

Handwritten signatures hold paramount importance in legal, financial, and administrative domains, necessitating the development of robust signature recognition tools for forensic applications. this paper introduces a handwritten signature recognition (HSR) model employing parallel Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) tailored for forensic endeavors. Utilizing the parallel processing capabilities of CNN, our proposed approach adeptly analyzes and extracts discriminative features from handwritten signature images to facilitate precise recognition. In addition, we leverage several transfer learning techniques by parallelizing proven pre-trained CNNs. Extensive experimentation validates the efficacy of our approach on a standard dataset, demonstrating high accuracy and resilience in signature recognition tasks. the proposed approach exhibits substantial promise in augmenting forensic investigations by automating signature verification processes, thereby bolstering fraud detection efforts and upholding the integrity of legal documentation.

Service-oriented architecture can improve e-business applications to be integrated and flexible. this paper proposes a multi-model driven collaborative development platform for service-oriented e-business systems. the platform provides three views, i.e., business view, process view, and service view to support service-oriented software engineering, top-down business planning and bottom-up service-oriented application development. Business and technical consultants can collaborate from distributed sites of, e.g., clients and IT vendors to provide their clients' with rapid development and demonstration. the proposed platform is driven by three models, i.e., service meta model, process model and business model. All of the three models support semantic description and rational operations, and facilitate intelligent service discovery, process execution and business-business integration. Concepts and implementation issues about the proposed platform has been presented in this paper. the platform has been developed and deployed in an innovation centre to be evaluated by visiting customers

Influence maximization (IM) is a fundamental operation among graph problems that involve simulating a stochastic diffusion process on real-world networks. Given a graph G(V, E), the objective is to identify a small set of key influential "seeds"— i.e., a fixed-size set of k nodes, which when influenced is likely to lead to the maximum number of nodes in the network getting influenced. the problem has numerous applications including (but not limited to) viral marketing in social networks, epidemic control in contact networks, and in finding influential proteins in molecular networks. Despite its importance, application of influence maximization at scale continues to pose significant challenges. While the problem is NP-hard, efficient approximation algorithms that use greedy hill climbing are used in practice. However those algorithms consume hours of multithreaded execution time even on modest-sized inputs with hundreds of thousands of nodes. In this paper, we present IMpart, a partitioning-based approach to accelerate greedy hill climbing based IM approaches on both shared and distributed memory computers. In particular, we present two parallel algorithms— one that uses graph partitioning (IMpart-metis) and another that uses community-aware partitioning (IMpart-gratis)— with provable guarantees on the quality of approximation. Experimental results show that our approaches are able to deliver two to three orders of magnitude speedup over a state-of-the-art multithreaded hill climbing implementation with negligible loss in quality. For instance, on one of the modest-sized inputs (Slashdot: 73K nodes; 905K edges), our partitioning-based shared memory implementation yields 4610× speedup, reducing the runtime from 9h 36m to 7 seconds on 128 threads. Furthermore, our distributed memory implementation enhances problem size reach to graph inputs with ×10 6 nodes and ×10 8 edges and enables sub-minute computation of IM solutions.
