Cloud computing grows rapidly as today's advanced information technology. However, by allowing outsourcing computation on the Cloud, users risk of disclosing privacy and obtaining forged results. these potential threats block sensitive applications to join the Cloud. In this paper, we characterize sensitive applications on the Cloud (SAND) problem and define two critical security requirements: confidentiality and verifiability. the former refers to the protection of sensitive programs/data from disclosing to other users or even the Cloud administrators. the latter concerns with user's capability to verify whether computing results are faithfully calculated. To address SAND, we propose a new Cloud model, Trusted Block as a Service (TBaaS), to provide a confidential and verifiable environment for each sensitive application. TBaaS limits Cloud provider's access of sensitive applications while granting user the ability to verify whether the computation is faithfully carried out. Moreover, it offers high flexibility and low performance overhead.

In the paper we deal with question, how the practical skills in programming of complex - possibly distributed - systems can be achieved in an effective way. Based on our previous experience withthe highly specialized system ShareMe, the generic system GLab is introduced. It offers learning environment that provides not only the description of the laboratory tasks to be implemented in Java, but also covers electronic submission, automatic grading and online access to grading and test results of any Java-based application. In distinction to ShareMe it is an open learning environment that could be used potentially for any software project implemented in Java. We focus on the subsystem called GLabTest that support automated grading and peer-to-peer system for sharing files ShareMe is used for its validation.

the existing set of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) digital repositories were not originally and purposely designed for sharing learning content, and as such are not well suited in the same way that centralized repositories are for the storing and retrieving of learning content for instructional use. this survey paper therefore reviews some P2P file-sharing and related eLearning technologies, to identify core reasons why there are no P2P eLearning Systems with features comparable to the ubiquitous client/server eLearning Systems. It concludes that P2P sharing of Reusable Learning Content requires a redesign in order to facilitate more comprehensive P2P eLearning Systems.
A new secret-sharing-based e-auction scheme is proposed. distributed bid opening is employed to protect bid privacy. It can achieve all the desired properties for sealed-bid auctions at a reasonable cost. Moreover, at...

Cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and smart contracts could fundamentally change the way how financial products and financial services are implemented and operated. While many frameworks for implementing such blockchain applications already exist, these are usually implemented using languages either considered "fancy" today, like e.g. Go, or are traditionally used for system software, such as C++. On the other hand, the core business applications e.g. in financial services are typically implemented using enterprise platforms such as Java Enterprise Edition (EE) and/or COBOL. therefore, to improve the integration of blockchain technology in such applications, in this paper we argue in favor of a legacy-friendly distributed ledger solution by introducing QWICSchain, an implementation build on web services using established open-source enterprise technologies such as Java EE and PostgreSQL. It supports the parallel execution of transactions on the blockchain and in existing legacy applications, thus enabling the blockchain-based modernization of existing IT infrastructures.

H.26L is an emerging video encoding standard proposed by ITU, which goal is for video communication and multicast in low bit rate conditions. this paper gives detailed analysis and performance tests for the parallelism of the H.26L video encoder test model long-term (TML8.0). Based on these tests, several parallel schedule strategies are discussed in different aspects, and the optimal one is selected and implemented by using MPI. At last, experiment results on Dawning-2000 MPP machines with different processors are given. the analysis and simulation results show that the H.26L has a good parallel performance and scalability on slice layer, and parallelcomputing can greatly speed up the processing of H.26L encoder. the experiment methods and results can be applied to many parallel systems for H.26L video processing.

the knapsack problem is a famous NP-complete problem. It is very important in the research on cryptosystem and number theory. After its proposed parallel algorithms are analyzed deeply, a new parallel algorithm by sampling is proposed based on MIMD supercomputers in the paper . then performance analysis and comparisons are illuminated Finally the experimental results of the knapsack instances randomly generated on IBM P690 supercomputer are given. the results show: the parallel efficiency can be over 60% when solving the larger scale knapsack instances (n >= 40). thus it is proved that the proposed parallel algorithm for the knapsack problem is feasible and efficient on MIMD scalable supercomputers.
