the typical software test models include V model, W model, H model, X model, etc. However each of them has deficiency respectively; especially adopted in complex software systems. this paper presents a brand new software test model called Y model based on W model. Moreover the most prominent characteristic of Y model is that it includes abundant domain knowledge and belongs to the domain knowledge-based software test model. thus it is necessary to construct various knowledge ontologies of this model before the execution of existing popular software test activities. this paper takes an example of software failure mode effects analysis knowledge ontology of requirements test stage to introduce the multi-ontology framework of software failure mode effects analysis knowledge, the construction process and definition of corresponding knowledge ontology. Finally the experiment takes an example of radar system to edit the software failure mode effects analysis ontology and its instances and introduces the ontology evaluation.

Selective Laser Melting (SLM) has become a widely used process for manufacturing metal part prototypes. this process, also known as additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping, allows the production of complex pieces using a layer by layer technology. Each layer is build by a laser irradiation providing a local melting (and immediate resolidification) of a thin powder bed with a thickness of a few tens of microns. In the present work a material used in biomedical applications was processed by SLM (namely Co28Cr6Mo alloy). the process parameters were set in order to adjust the porosity levels. the influence of the porosity level on the material effective mechanical properties was then quantified by experimental measurements using a two point bending test and by applying numerical modeling. the numerical model is based on the use of cross-sectional SEM micrographs of the material. these micrographs were used as meshes (each pixel is a FEM element) and the ANSYS software was then used to perform virtual loadings with the objective to provide the effective mechanical properties of the material. A comparison of the predicted and measured Young modulus was then performed. the provided results confirm that the process parameters may be adjusted in order to control the porosity level of the material and subsequently to adjust its effective mechanical resistance. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

With the continuous development of recommender systems technology, people's reliance and demand on recommender systems is increasing, while traditional recommendation models have been unable to meet this increasingly diversified demand. this paper designs a general improved model to take advantage of the additional information, especially the essential information of objective product category, other than the traditional rating information contained in data, in order to improve the performance of recommender systems and meet the demand. this improved model is to optimize the results of recommendation based on traditional recommendation models, through introducing objective category information and taking use of the feature that users always get the habits of preferring certain categories. Besides this, there are two advantages of this improved model: 1) it can be easily applied to any kind of existing recommendation models. And 2) a controller is set in this improved model to provide controllable adjustment range, which thereby makes it possible to provide optional modes of recommendation aiming different kinds of users.

the probabilistic characteristics of components can't be completely expressed by the S-N curve with parameters estimated by small number of specimens. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is introduced to fit parameters with the incomplete test data, which can take advantage of the entire information of the specimens to obtain the globally optimal solution. With the fitness function offered based on the principle of the total minimum mean-square value of fitting errors, the parameters of the three-parameter P-S-N curve are estimated with PSO. In sequence, the obtained P-S-N curve is applied in the fatigue damage accumulation model for reliability prediction. the above models are verified with test data with relation to two different 45 steels. the simulation results match well with experiment data.

this paper deals with an analysis of internal parameters of the P.563 non-intrusive quality prediction model forming an overall quality prediction of this model in the context of an impact of natural and synthesized speech degraded by packet loss (independent and dependent losses) and speech coding (ITU-T G.711 codec, ITU-T G.729AB codec and iLBC codec). A main aim of this paper is to identify dominant internal parameters of the P.563 model for all the investigated codecs and clp parameters by conducting two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests on all internal parameters of the P.563 model. All the identified dominant internal parameters will be further used in an investigation of non-monotonic behavior of the P.563 model predictions in this context, reported for ITU-T G.729AB codec in [6].

this paper proposes an extended general repair model for repairable systems. the new model incorporates virtual age concept and repair effectiveness parameters to reflect the effect of repairs. Unlike the current general repair models which assume a constant level of the repair effectiveness, the new model assumes that the repair effectiveness depends on the degree of repair. therefore, some important engineering problems can be solved by a more practical and realistic approach.

this paper studies the performance of battery models for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Two battery models are evaluated using plug-and-play powertrain and vehicle development software, Autonomie. the base vehicle model used for testing the performance of battery models is the Prius MY04, a power-split hybrid electric vehicle model in Autonomie. the battery model in Prius MY04 is based on the thevenin battery model. It does not consider the effects of double layer, diffusion, and coulombs coefficient. To improve battery model, this study includes battery current loss in the battery model. In addition, voltage losses on double layer effect and diffusion effect are included in the improved battery model. Simulation tests are conducted to compare simulated vehicle fuel economy with two battery models to the vehicle fuel economy test data provided by the department of energy (DOE). the simulation results show that the improved battery model has smaller fuel economy errors than the thevenin battery model comparing with DOE published vehicle test data.

Nuclear safety has received great concern since Fukushima Accident. As the employment of digital systems in newly-built and upgraded Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs), software reliability brings a lot of challenges to the Probability Risk Assessment of NPPs. Digital Reactor Protection System (RPS) plays an important role in nuclear safety: it monitors the state of the plant and generates an emergency scram signal if certain nuclear accident arises. To meet the requirements of regulation and Probability Risk Assessment, we collected the fault detection data during the RPS software testing process and modeled this testing process with software Reliability Growth models (SRGMs). In order to describe the characteristics of the data, we built an SRGM based on non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). Severity analysis was considered by identifying the software faults into easy and hard ones modeled with different SRGMs separately. Goel-Okumoto (GO) model was selected to describe the easy faults and the hard faults were modeled by Inflection S-shaped (ISS) model or Delayed S-shaped (DSS) model. As the fault detection rate and the inflection factor is different because of changes of testing environment, testing strategy, resources, etc., we also used change point (CP) method to improve the fitting and prediction effects. the data collected in our project were used to testify the validity of our models. According to a series of analysis, "GO&ISS with CP" model has good fitting and prediction abilities even when the data obtained are limited while "GO&ISS" model has good prediction effect only when there are sufficient testing data. On the other hand, because of the abnormal fitting parameters, "GO&DSS" model and "GO&DSS with CP" model are not proper for the fitting of our data. We also find that the adoption of change point can improve the prediction effect on both "GO&ISS" model and "GO&DSS" model. the models we proposed give good estimation of the proportion of easy faults and g

the reactor trip system (RTS) is one of the most complex systems in reactor protection systems. In this case study, there are four redundant channels in the system, each consists of two functional sub-groups containing more than 100 functional boards. Markov model is used to calculate system availability. It is difficult to establish the board-level Markov model which may incur the state space explosion problem, a Markov model to reflect the state transition between channels is proposed according to the hierarchy of system functions. Besides, multiple channels may simultaneously fail due to the common cause failure (CCF) which may be caused by the network communication, the support systems, the common hardware, the manufacturing defects and software in the digital control system. this paper shows that Markov chain is an effective method to be applied to the availability assessment of digital instrumentation and control systems of nuclear power plants.

software Reliability Growth models (SRGMs) are commonly used to estimate the software quality in software engineering. Currently, most SRGMs employ the fault number data collected during software fault detection process and model the fault number data with corresponding detection time. In this process, fault severity is generally used as an unknown parameter to be solved by the modeling process. Few articles incorporate the fault severity as a known factor for the fault-detection-process modeling. In fact, each fault detected is classified into different severities during software testing process in a lot of software testing projects, that is, the fault severity can be treated as a known factor. Generally, the higher severity a fault has, the larger effect it may create. therefore, besides the total fault count remained in software, the number of remained faults in different severity, especially the faults that may cause serious consequences, is more critical to the system operation. Incorporating the data information, we proposed one novel nonhomogeneous Poisson process software reliability growth model in this article, which involves both the failure time and the severity of each fault into modeling. In this article, we first discussed how to introduce the severity into modeling. In actual software development process, it has been observed that the fault in trivial severity is detected more easily and less influence by the learning effect than the fault in hard severity. thus, we proposed a Severity Ratio Function (SRF) to describe the percentage of the fault detection rate in same severity out of the total fault detection rate changing in time. then, based on the SRF, a new software reliability model is derived. Finally, this model are evaluated and validated on actual test data set collected from a nuclear power plant protection system. the results of numerical illustration demonstrate that the proposed MVF provide better estimation and fitting under comparisons
