this work shows the results of a research project which goal was to make a geo-historical study on clothes used by four civilizations: Rome, Greece, Egypt and India. A bibliography search was done, online museum image databases and other sources were accessed in order to have a photographic record of statues and female tridimensional figures corresponding to the selected historical periods and parts of the world. the method included a partial reconstruction of the body, referencing the sculptural representation of female beauty in those ancient civilizations. After the reconstruction an indirect extraction of anthropometric measurements was made over 2D images, and those data were fed into a generative design software to model a tridimensional torso. the outcome is a 'historical-customizable' 3D model that can be applied to the production of clothing and historical costumes.
the complexity of post-disaster recovery processes and the risks of implementing "one size fits all" solutions are now widely acknowledged by humanitarian actors, who are pushing for innovative approaches to...

the Function-as-a-Service cloud computing paradigm has made large-scale application development convenient and efficient as developers no longer need to deploy or manage the necessary infrastructure themselves. However, as a consequence of this abstraction, developers lose insight into how their code is executed and data is processed. Cloud providers currently offer little to no assurance of the integrity of customer data. One approach to robust data integrity verification is the analysis of data provenance—logs that describe the causal history of data, applications, users, and non-person entities. this paper introduces ProProv, a new domain-specific language and graphical user interface for specifying policies over provenance metadata to automate provenance *** evaluate the convenience and usability of the new ProProv interface, 61 individuals were recruited to construct provenance policies using both ProProv and the popular, general-purpose policy specification language Rego—used as a baseline for comparison. We found that, compared to Rego, the ProProv interface greatly increased the number of policies successfully constructed, improved the time taken to construct those policies, and reduced the failed-attempt rate. Participants successfully constructed 73% of the requested policies using ProProv, compared to 41% using Rego. To further evaluate the usability of the tools, participants were given a 10-question questionnaire measured using the System Usability Scale (SUS). the median SUS score for the graphical ProProv interface was above average and fell into the “excellent” category, compared to below average and “OK” for Rego. these results highlight the impacts that graphical domain-specific tools can have on the accuracy and speed of policy construction.

this study aims to examine gender differences among engineering students in terms of risk-taking-related personality traits and risk perception. thirteen scenarios based on actual fatality cases in the construction industry were used in the analysis. A total of 100 engineering undergraduates (male: 63, female: 37) were interviewed to identify their risk-taking-related personality traits and risk perception. Among ten personality traits, results show that being adventurous was the only personality trait positively correlated with risk-taking behaviour among female respondents. Two personality traits, namely, being adventurous and arrogant, were positively correlated with risk-taking behaviour among male respondents. the personality trait of calm was negatively correlated with risk-taking behaviour among male respondents. In terms of risk perception, females were slightly lower than males. these findings can be used as a reference for designing different safety training and awareness programs for male and female engineers and workers in the construction industry.

Due to the fact that compiler theory is pretty abstract, students' interest in learning the topics of this course decreases. In order to better prepare students for this challenge, a new approach to teaching and practicing compilers is necessary. the new approach should be complementary to existing curricula. this paper presents two educational interactive tools for visual representation of lexical and syntax analysis. It describes the way of applying simulation tools in order to improve the teaching process of the compiler construction course. these software systems evaluations were performed by checking the correctness of the implemented functionalities and examining the user experience by a quantitative student survey.

Forest fire is one disaster that can paralyze various human activities, both in land and air, which can reach hundreds of hectares and is routine in Indonesia. Mitigation is important to reduce the number of fires and the impact will not damage the ecosystem. Spatio-temporal analysis can be used to know the pattern of an event in a certain period. this makes it possible to identify the factors of events that affected by time and see the changes that occur on the surface of the earth. Data that are used include remote sensing data of rainfall, peatland, palm oil plantation, land cover, hotspot in certain period that is processed using Geographic Information systems (GIS). the methods used include extraction of forest fire event parameter, mapping of hotspot and forest fire parameter, spatio-temporal analysis, forest fire mitigation identification. the extraction result obtained influential parameters, such as land cover, land use, rainfall, climate, river, and road. Structural mitigation such as the construction of canals and ditches can anticipate the spread of fires. Canals can also be used as a control factor for hydrology. Meanwhile, non-structural mitigation can be done through policy planning based on hotspot distribution modelling.
