this document explores the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) in engineeringeducation, highlighting its potential to enhance graduate attributes attainment through innovative learning methods, while delving into the importance of STEM knowledge and developing essential skills for future engineers. the proposal advocates for a project-oriented approach where students work on Capstone Projects. these projects require collaboration and mobilization of resources, allowing students to apply their technical knowledge in real-world contexts while developing a range of specific skills categorized into technical (hard skills) and interpersonal (soft skills). the results are not conclusive regarding competencies attainment;however, preliminary findings are promising to concern the use of VR in Capstone Projects. In the blended learning modality, competency attainment rose by 1.0% to 13.0%. In contrast, in the face-to-face modality, the improvement ranged from 1.3% to 19.8%. More experiments are needed with a large number of students to evaluate its impact on learning experiences.

this paper presents an intelligent computational architecture designed to enhance the quality of higher education in an academic ecosystem. By integrating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), complex systems, and blockchain technology, this architecture aims to invigorate formative research and optimize educational processes. the proposed architecture seeks to facilitate effective collaboration and enhance educational quality by modeling academic ecosystems as complex networks and using smart contracts for intellectual property management, coupled withthe incorporation of participation incentives through blockchain-based social tokens. the resulting architecture employs autonomous agents to propose projects and automatically recruit participants by combining complex networks with GenAI, preserving intellectual property via blockchain and managing incentives with social tokens.

Since its initial evaluation by the National Agency for Higher education Evaluation and accreditation (ANEAES), the Computer engineering program at American University has implemented continuous improvements based on the Improvement Plan. these improvements focus on five key dimensions: governance, academic project, human resources, resources and results, and impact. this paper discusses the improvements made in these areas. Universidad Americana adjusted the organizational structure, updated curricula and bibliographies, implemented the Human Talent Management Portal, renewed laboratory equipment, and promoted participation in research programs. the results show that accreditation has strengthened the organizational structure, optimized resource management, improved the quality of the teaching-learning process and increased the quality of professional training. In conclusion, ANEAES accreditation has been fundamental for the development and consolidation of the Computer engineering program at Universidad Americana, positioning it as a reference in the training of highly qualified professionals in the field of computer engineering.

this paper proposes a technical model for a self-learning platform in higher educationthat integrates gamification, artificial intelligence, an online knowledge base, and a social network. Using WordPress as the central platform, specific tools such as GamiPress, AI Engine, BuddyPress, and BetterDocs are evaluated. Unlike previous studies, this work uniquely combines these technologies to address specific challenges in higher education, such as student engagement and personalized learning. through an exhaustive literature review and a rigorous comparison of available plugins, it is argued that WordPress is a viable option for implementing this solution. this study provides a solid foundation for future implementations and empirical evaluations, presenting evidence on the effectiveness of integrating these tools in enhancing self-directed education.

this work analyzes the impact of the National Agency for Higher education Evaluation and accreditation (ANEAES) accreditations on the continuous improvement of the Production Systems engineering degree program at the Polytechnic Faculty of the National University of Asuncion. the academic quality evaluation model in Paraguay, regulated by ANEAES, establishes that an improvement plan must be implemented once a degree is accredited. this model was applied to the Production Systems engineering degree, using the Deming cycle (plan, execute, verify, and act) to guide the development and implementation of the improvement plan from 2020 to 2023. through this accreditation process and the implementation of the improvement plan, several areas of improvement were identified and worked on. the evaluations carried out with different instruments demonstrated that the program has implemented effective actions that have solidified the quality of its educational offer in higher education. the accreditation and the corresponding improvement plan have allowed the Production Systems engineering degree not only to comply with predefined quality standards, but also to foster a culture of continuous improvement. this has resulted in a more robust educational offer adapted to the demands and changes of the environment.
