We extend the contextual-Graphs formalism for modeling interaction in a group activity. Group activity is modeled as the cyclic traversing of a contextual meta-graph representing the group activity in terms of member activities, and of the shared context as a hub for interaction management. We propose a model of group-member interaction at the level of the transitions between turns. the model relies on the representation of members' activities in terms of independent tasks that are structured by simulation parameters in the shared context.

this paper discusses the requirements of situation identification in the Internet of things and the necessity to consider the quality of the input context data during the inference process for deriving a situation and evaluating its resulting quality. We propose to extend previous works by integrating the QoCIM meta-model within the muSIC framework dedicated to situation identification. Situation identification is derived using an ontological approach and Quality criteria are aggregated using the fuzzy Choquet operator for computing the quality of a situation. this paper shows that QoCIM allows to model quality of context (QoC) as well as quality of situation in a unified approach.

Information systems are important technological allies on the organization context. In emergency situations, they can be even more necessary. Classical information system specification approaches do not focus in relevant aspects of sociotechnical relations. they adopt simplified ways to represent reality and do not consider functional interactions between equipment, procedures and human resources of sociotechnical systems. In consequence, technological devices become insufficient in the capacity to respond to disaster situations. the focus of this work is to propose a discussion that contributes to create a heuristic approach to better define system requirements. the goal is to combine context modeling methods and human factors to model complex interactions in emergency situations.

the quality of context information is still one of the most overlooked factors by developers and end-users, and this makes context-aware applications less reliable. While there is recent work in this area that focuses on identifying and modeling relevant quality parameters for context information, software developers still have not yet adopted these solutions at large because they do not offer the right set of abstractions that they are familiar with. this paper presents model and language constructs, as well as software engineering tools to address these quality of context concerns. We demonstrate our overarching solution on a non-trivial Ambient Assisted Living scenario involving assistance services for the elderly supported by indoor localization technologies.

through successfully applying the contextual-Graph formalism in many fields (e.g. medicine, transport, and military), the need for an alternative visualization was recurrently encountered. Decision makers require: (1) a visual representation that clusters all the contextual information needed to develop a practice, and (2) a representation that allows them to easily identify each practice output. Either if this output corresponds to a real object (e.g. a medical image), or an object of the reasoning (e.g. a strategy for highway driving). this paper presents the response to decision-makers needs: the Practice Tree view, which is the result of transforming a contextual graph into a tree that complies the described requirements.

In a vast range of domains, decision makers have taken advantages of the benefits of the contextual-Graph (CxG) formalism for representing the way(s) an actor(s) executes a real-world task. For this purpose, the CxG software formalism provides actors with edition tools that help them create and explore contextual graphs in an intuitive manner. However, the modeling of group interaction requires the introduction of new elements for managing each actor's intervention. In this paper, we incorporate simulation functionalities to the CxG software. the simulation of a task execution relies heavily on the concept of working context, which corresponds to the contextual elements existing in a CxG, their value, and their instantiations taken during the simulation, as well as the instantiation of the simulation parameters for managing the turn mechanism.

the Internet of thing allows objects and services to interact with each other. the goal of this study is to recognize high level states of the rooms and more generally of the home. We want to be able to obtain intermediate states like "someone is in the kitchen" or "night mode". In the specific case of home activity and state measurement, we consider that a set of furniture units is especially suitable for providing low level information. Recognizing and identifying house states or other high level information can be done using several methods. In this paper, we present an ontology based method. In the following, a situation is considered to be realized when the hypothesis which represents it are fulfilled. using this approach, we show that multiple instances of situation context are distinguishable.

the importance of system-level context-and situation awareness increases with the growth of the Internet of things (IoT). this paper proposes an integrated approach to situation awareness by providing a semantically rich situation model together with reliable situation inference based on context Spaces theory (CST) and Situation theory (ST). the paper discusses benefits of integrating the proposed situation awareness framework with knowledge base and efficient reasoning techniques taking into account uncertainty and incomplete knowledge about situations. the paper discusses advantages and impact of proposed context adaptation in dynamic IoT environments. Practical issues of two-way mapping between IoT messaging standards and CST are also discussed.

the mathematical formalism of quantum theory exhibits significant effectiveness when applied to cognitive phenomena that have resisted traditional (set theoretical) modeling. Relying on a decade of research on the operational foundations of micro-physical and conceptual entities, we present a theoretical framework for the representation of concepts and their conjunctions and disjunctions that uses the quantum formalism. this framework provides a unified solution to the 'conceptual combinations problem' of cognitive psychology, explaining the observed deviations from classical (Boolean, fuzzy set and Kolmogorovian) structures in terms of genuine quantum effects. In particular, natural concepts 'interfere' when they combine to form more complex conceptual entities, and they also exhibit a 'quantum-type context-dependence', which are responsible of the 'over- and under-extension' that are systematically observed in experiments on membership judgments.

In the context of use-case centric development and requirements-driven testing, this paper addresses the problem of automatically deriving system test cases to verify timing requirements. Inspired by engineering practice in an automotive software development context, we rely on an analyzable form of use case specifications and augment such functional descriptions with timed automata, capturing timing requirements, following a methodology aiming at minimizing modeling overhead. We automate the generation of executable test cases using a test strategy based on maximizing test suite diversity and building over the UPPAAL model checker. Initial empirical results based on an industrial case study provide evidence of the effectiveness of the approach.
