Graph filters (GFs) have attracted great interest since they can be directly implemented in a diffused way. thus it is interesting to investigate GFs to implement signal processing operations in a distributed manner. However, in most GF models, the input signals are assumed to be time-invariant, static, or change at a very low rate. In addition to that, the GF coefficients are usually set to be node-invariant, i.e. the same for all the nodes. Yet, in general, the input signals may evolve with time and the underlying GF may have parameters dependent on the nodes. therefore, in this paper, we consider dynamic input signals and both types of GF coefficients, node-variant, i.e. vary on different nodes, and node-invariant. then, we apply LMS and RLS algorithms for GF design, along with two others called adapt-then-combine (ATC) and combined RLS (CRLS) to estimate the GF coefficients. We study and compare the performance of the algorithms and show that in the case of node-invariant GF coefficients, CRLS gives the best performance with lowest mean-square-displacement (MSD), whereas, for node-variant case, RLS represents the best results. the effect of bias in the input signal has also been examined.

sensor registration is fundamental in sensor fusion. Inaccuracies in sensor location and rotation can manifest themselves into the measurements used in Multiple Target Tracking (MTT), and dramatically degrade its performance. these registration parameters are often estimated separately to any multitarget estimation, which could lead to increased computational expense, and also to systematic errors. Recent works have shown that MTT algorithms derived from Belief Propagation (BP) are computationally efficient and highly scalable for large tracking scenarios. this work presents a hierarchical Bayesian model inspired by single-cluster methods from the Random Finite Set (RFS) literature, that allow for the registration parameters to be estimated jointly with the multiple target tracking. Simulations are carried out on a multistatic radar network containing two radars with a relative range and azimuth bias between them. Results are presented for a particle-BP MTT algorithm, and it's performance is compared to that of a Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC)-Probability Hypothesis Density (PHD) filter. the results show that the BP algorithm outperforms the PHD implementation in terms of accuracy by around 10%.

In this paper, we investigate precoding techniques for physical-layer security in multi-user MIMO systems under various conditions of channel state information (CSI). A Lattice Reduction (LR) aided non-linear precoding technique based on Successive Optimization Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (SO-thP) and Simplified Generalized Matrix Inversion (S-GMI) technique is proposed along with a strategy for injecting artificial noise prior to transmission. Simulation results show that the proposed LR-SO-thP+S-GMI precoding technique outperforms existing non-linear and linear precoding algorithms in terms of BER and secrecy rate performances.

A low-cost, simple, and reliable touchless human-computer interaction (HCI) using a low-cost continuous wave (CW) radar sensor, advanced radar signal processing, and machine learning, is proposed and implemented in this presentation. this touchless HCI is based on gesture representation by micro-Doppler spectrograms from short-time Fourier transform (STFT) processing of radar signals and gesture classification is based on an ensemble of machine learning methods with a majority voting scheme. For lower cost and more reliable purposes, a flexible menu selection strategy with fewer hand gesture types is proposed and demonstrated. this reliable menu selection interface can be applied in lifts, restaurants, or other places to reduce the spreading of the virus. © 2021 IEEE.

We propose a novel method for applying real-valued independent component analysis (ICA) to complex-valued multi-sensor data that comprises instantaneous linear mixtures of co-channel non-Gaussian independent signals. We examine, for non-ideal practical conditions, the optimahty of cumulant-based ICA and blind signal separation approaches in terms of the standard criterion for statistical independence and extend this theory to the complex-valued case. We show that this justifies estimation of in-phase and quadrature mixing parameters and, for finite data, avoids the difficulty of optimising a selected subset of real and complex-valued cumulants. Computational efficiency is also improved. © 2000 EUSIPCO.

Pipelines are one of the most common systems for storing and transporting petroleum products, both liquid and gaseous. Despite the durable structures, leakages can occur for many reasons, causing environmental disasters, energy waste, and, in some cases, human losses. the object of the ESthISIS project is the development of a low-cost and low-energy wireless sensor system for the immediate detection of leaks in metallic piping systems for the transport of liquid and gaseous petroleum products in a noisy industrial environment. the method to be followed will be based on processing the changes monitored in the spectrum of vibration signals appearing in the pipeline walls due to a leakage effect and will aim at minimal interference in the piping system. It is intended to use low frequencies to detect and characterize leakage to increase the range of sensors and thus to reduce cost. In the current work, the smart sensor system developed for signal acquisition and data analysis is described. the work focuses on the hardware of the system and crucial details that enable the time synchronization of the system. Discussion on the main challenges faced as well as results of integration and lab-scale tests have been also included.

Some passive sensors can measure only relative angles of signals and in a distributed sensor network, it is interesting to associate measurements of angles from distributed sensors and then to estimate the positions of signal sources. this paper studies the data association problem and the intersection localization problem for a distributed passive sensor network. Under the assumption that the locations of the sensors are known a priori, different signal directions of distributed passive sensors constitute different lines and those with sufficiently small minimal distances are deemed to be from the same signal sources. Meanwhile, for associated signals, the signal location estimate is the average position of the points over the lines with minimal distances to each other. the impacts of angle estimation accuracy and platform self-localization accuracy are analyzed in numerical results, indicating that this method can achieve a high data association and positioning performance with a low computation cost. © 2021 IEEE.

Construction, theft, and geologic changes has long threatened the safety of power cable operation. However, due to the wide distribution of cables and the complicated operating environment, there is currently a lack of effective monitoring for early warning. this paper reports a wireless distributed sensor for monitoring cable external disturbance. Its data processing, low-power power management, energy acquisition unit, and Internet of things communication methods are described in details;Based on that, the cable vibration test under typical external force excitation are carried out. the time-domain and time-frequency characteristics of the cable vibration signal are obtained and employed as characteristic parameters for external disturbance identification, which are the basis of an intelligent early-warning system for cable antibreakage. the Internet of Health things plays a key role in the transformation of health care systems as it enables wearable health monitoring systems to ensure continuous and non-invasive tracking of vital body parameters. To successfully detect the cardiac problem of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) wearable sensors are required to continuously sense and transmit ECG signals. the traditional approach of ECG streaming over energy-consuming wireless links can overwhelm the limited energy resources of wearable sensors. this paper proposes a low-energy features' extraction method that combines the RR interval and P wave features for higher AF detection accuracy. In the proposed scheme, instead of streaming raw ECG signals , local AF features extraction is executed on the sensors. Results have shown that combining time-domain features with wavelet extracted features, achieved a sensitivity of 98.59% and a specificity of 97.61%. In addition, compared to ECG streaming, on-sensor AF detection achieved a 92% gain in energy savings.
