this paper presents a machine-learning study for solar inverter power regulation in a remote microgrid. Machine learning models for active and reactive power control are respectively trained using an ensemble learning method. then, unlike conventional schemes that make inferences on a central server in the far-end control center, the proposed scheme deploys the trained models on an embedded edge-computing device near the inverter to reduce the communication delay. Experiments on a real embedded device achieve matched results as on the desktop PC, with about 0.1ms time cost for each inference input.

Lazy learning, such as k-nearest neighbor learning, has been widely applied to many applications. Known for well capturing data locality, lazy learning can be advantageous for highly dynamic and complex learning environments such as data streams. Yet its high memory consumption and low prediction efficiency have made it less favorable for stream oriented applications. Specifically, traditional lazy learning stores all the training data and the inductive process is deferred until a query appears, whereas in stream applications, data records flow continuously in large volumes and the prediction of class labels needs to be made in a timely manner. In this paper, we provide a systematic solution that overcomes the memory and efficiency limitations and enables fast lazy learning for concept drifting data streams. In particular, we propose a novel Lazy-tree (Ltree for short) indexing structure that dynamically maintains compact high-level summaries of historical stream records. L-trees are M-Tree [5] like, height-balanced, and can help achieve great memory consumption reduction and sub-linear time complexity for prediction. Moreover, L-trees continuously absorb new stream records and discard outdated ones, so they can naturally adapt to the dynamically changing concepts in data streams for accurate prediction. Extensive experiments on real-world and synthetic data streams demonstrate the performance of our approach.

Nowadays, real-time embedded systems (RTES) and particularly adaptive ones are gaining more use in several domains. they must be always consistent and available to preserve their usefulness and feasibility, as a response to environmental conditions, resources limitations and user requirements. For this reason, they are subject to anticipated and unanticipated runtime reconfigurations. the design of such systems requires an abstract representation of the execution context independently from low-level details, with lower complexity. In this context, designers adopt runtime models which need to be checked and validated at early stages of development. Besides, these models must be updated according to unpredictable execution changes. In the present paper, we propose an MDE-based approach that allows managing runtime adaptive RTES. Our proposal starts by specifying the behavior and structure of runtime adaptive systems. then Model-to-Text (M2T) transformations allows us to generate configuration files to simulate adaptive systems behavior and evaluate their real-time constraints. An additional feature offered by our approach consists to monitor the execution context and update runtime models according to unanticipated reconfigurations.

Fusing Radar and Lidar sensor data can fully utilize their complementary advantages and provide more accurate reconstruction of the surrounding for autonomous driving systems. Surround Radar/Lidar can provide 360° view sampling with the minimal cost, which are promising sensing hardware solutions for autonomous driving systems. However, due to the intrinsic physical constraints, the rotating speed of surround Radar, and thus the frequency to generate Radar data frames, is much lower than surround Lidar. Existing Radar/Lidar fusion methods have to work at the low frequency of surround Radar, which cannot meet the high responsiveness requirement of autonomous driving systems. this paper develops techniques to fuse surround Radar/Lidar with working frequency only limited by the faster surround Lidar instead of the slower surround Radar, based on widely-used object detection model called MVDNet. the basic idea of our approach is simple: we let MVDNet work with temporally unaligned data from Radar/Lidar, so that fusion can take place at any time when a new Lidar data frame arrives, instead of waiting for the slow Radar data frame. However, directly applying MVDNet to temporally unaligned Radar/Lidar data greatly degrades its object detection accuracy. the key information revealed in this paper is that we can achieve high output frequency with little accuracy loss by enhancing the training procedure to explore the temporal redundancy in MVDNet so that it can tolerate the temporal unalignment of input data. We explore several different ways of training enhancement and compare them quantitatively with experiments.

Future systems will have to support multiple and concurrent dynamic compute-intensive applications, while respecting real-time and energy consumption constraints. To overcome these computation needs, only multithreaded approaches are possible. thus, the support of a streaming execution model is very important for dataflow applications. However, with dynamic applications, each execution stage is prone to execution time variations. the sizing of these highly complex MPSoC architectures becomes difficult. In such a context, flexible and accurate simulators become a necessity for exploring the vast design space solution. In this paper, we use the SESAM environment to ease the architectural exploration of asymmetric MPSoCs for dynamic streaming application processing. this paper focuses on the new programming and execution model supported by the simulator, and studies performances obtained with a WCDMA encoder/decoder application implemented on a complete MPSoC platform.

Smart home is an important applicable field of Internet of things. In line with the applicable demands and features of smart home, a design of smart home control system by Internet of things based on ZigBee has been advanced in this paper. In the proposed system, LM3S8962 32-bit processor is used as the main controller to complete the design of embedded WEB server. Meanwhile, a number of things have adopted in the program design, such as RTX operating system in RL-ARM real time database, Common Gateway Interface function and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. A variety of tasks of the system function module can be completed by RTX operating system. the information exchange between the client side and the server side can be realized by Common Gateway Interface technology. Ethernet communication can be implemented by Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. What's more, ZigBee wireless communication module is applied for the local communication, and it can send and receive the transmission information between the main controller and the various home appliances. the experimental results show that remote monitoring appliance can be realized. And the proposed smart home control system is simple and feasible, which can be widely used in smart home remote monitoring.

WorldLangAI functions as a dictionary bot that allows users to input images containing text in any language, then it analyzes and converts them into any desired language. WorldLangAI is a novel approach that offers a userfriendly and efficient solution for overcoming language barriers, with implications for global communication, information accessibility, and multilingual applications. this innovative solution has the potential to significantly enhance global communication with cross-cultural interactions and real-time translation for travel assistance which can translate text in images, such as signs or menus, into different languages, helping travelers navigate foreign countries. the paper discusses Generative AI, and its applications followed by Gemini 1.5 Flash and its performance comparison with other GenAI models. this paper also provides the comparative analysis of Generative AI services on various cloud platforms including Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Azure Open AI and their features which can be used to build and deploy Generative AI applications allowing users to experience high performance, high availability, and low latency.

Interactive Multimedia (IMM) offers voice, video conferencing, graphics services at low cost with more flexibility in a high speed Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) that can be defined as a high speed Wireless Campus Network (WCN). In a video or voice conversation, the direction of traffic flow over the networks defines the participating users work either as a sender or a receiver. In order to improve performance of IMM traffic in WCN, data loss has to be kept minimum with maximum throughput. Packets scheduling is one of the challenging issues for improving IMM transmission and it is still an unresolved problem over WCN. this work aims to explain the fundamental characteristics of IMM related to various applications and highlights the present scheduler issues. A new scheduling scheme has been proposed which is expected to deliver the optimum Quality of Service (QoS) with the least handoff delay and call dropping probabilities for IMM applications though WCNs.

Task scheduling algorithms are designed mostly with the sole goal of minimizing makespan (completion time). Almost all research works related to this kind of algorithms do not pay much attention to energy consumption. In this paper, we investigate the energy issue in task scheduling particularly on high-performance computing systems (HCSs). We propose a new island-based bi-objective hybrid algorithm that takes into account, not only makespan, but also energy consumption. the proposed approach uses dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) to minimize energy consumption. Our study provides the significance and potential of DVS. the proposed approach is powerful as it profits from the cooperative paradigm of the island model. Indeed, the obtained results show that our approach outperforms previous scheduling methods, in terms of energy consumption, by a noticeable margin. the obtained schedules are also shorter, in terms of completion time, than those of other algorithms.

Commercial optical human motion capture systems perform well in studio-like environments, but they do not provide solution in daily-life surroundings. Micro-sensor motion capture has shown its potentials because of its ubiquity and low cost. We present an ambulatory low-cost real-time motion capture system using wearable micro-sensors (accelerometers, magnetometers and gyroscopes), which can capture and reconstruct human motion in real-time almost every-where. It mainly consists of three parts: a sensor subsystem, a data fusion subsystem and an animation subsystem. the sensor subsystem collects human motion signals and transfers them into the data fusion subsystem. the data fusion subsystem performs sensor fusion to obtain motion information, i.e., the orientation and position of each body segment. Using the motion information from the data fusion subsystem, the animation subsystem drives the avatar in the 3D virtual world in order to reconstruct human motion. All the processes are accomplished in real-time. the experimental results show that our system can capture motions and drive animations in real-time vividly without drift and delay. And the output from our system can be made use of in film-making, sports training and argument reality applications, etc.
