Compared with the traditional teaching mode, online distance teaching mode breaks the barriers of time and space so that more people have access to education, which makes Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) popular all over the world, especially in China. However, MOOCs bring more challenges to teaching in the meantime. Students’ participation in online learning becomes one of the most prominent problems, which is hard to deal with compared with traditional face-to-face teaching mode. So with the integration of the advantages of MOOCs and traditional teaching mode, Small Private Online Course(SPOC) teaching mode is more and more favored by educators. Guided by the 5C Framework theory, this paper aims to advance effective online-teaching strategies in order to motivate students’ active participation in online learning process under SPOC mode. Based on the analyses of qualitative and quantitative data, the results show that teachers can improve students’ participation in online courses by “the Optimized Combination” from three dimensions: interactive teaching platforms, teaching content carriers and teaching task difficulty, which provide a new perspective for improving the effectiveness of online teaching.

In this paper present attendance system using Raspberry Pi 4. If attendance is managed manually, it can impose a significant load on teachers. A sophisticated and automated management system is employed to address this issue. this system provides a straightforward solution to the issue of certifying and marking students as present, even if they are not physically there. this system records real-time attendance. Video frames are extracted using the OpenCV library. the primary steps involved in the implementation of this system are the identification of recognised faces, for which the dlib library is utilised. Subsequently, it should be feasible to merge the identified faces by comparing them with a database that includes the student's facial features. this methodology is an effective strategy for overseeing student engagement.

Sleeping takes up about a third of a person's life. Traditionally, an all-night polysomnogram (PSG) is taken from the individual and assessed by a well-Trained specialist to assess sleep quality. An electrooculogram-based sleep monitoring system is proposed in this research. Compared to PSG or EEG recordings, EOG is easier to put and can be used independently. An EOG sleep monitoring device was designed using the Arduino Uno Module and has achieved an overall accuracy of 82.31% in identifying various sleep stages. In addition to sleep quality assessment, adaptive temperature control based on the proposed system's monitoring of the users' sleep stages was applied for active sleep environment control. Results had shown that users could sleep better when the temperature varied according to their sleep stages. © 2021 IEEE.

Most Indonesian schools have to close immediately because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and there will be a quick transition to distance learning, requiring the usage of digital interventions. But the country's digital education infrastructure, particularly in rural schools, is not sufficiently developed to maintain and enhance students’ learning outcomes. To address these problems Plickers (students response system) offers students an opportunity for a high-quality education while potentially reducing the cost of technology resources. this study enhanced integrated Plickers for learning mathematics in rural secondary schools. A quantitative and qualitative approach was used to examine how students participated in the learning and their perception, preferences, and motivation for using Plickers. the study involved 50 seventh graders, and 15 of them volunteered to participate in interviews. A paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference between learning engagement on paper-based tests and learning engagement on Plickers-based tests. the majority of students also had positive opinions of Plickers, noting its usability, capacity to make learning more enjoyable, increase engagement in problem-solving, promote comprehension of the subject, and help students maintain their interest during class. While some students struggled to focus and thought Plickers was just a quiz tool that couldn't motivate them to learn.

the ordering of items of an array/list in a certain sequence is one of the crucial topics in computer science. Sorting algorithms determines the new order of elements in a data structure typically in arrays and lists, they do so based on a comparison operator. the effectiveness of these sorting algorithms is determined by calculating their time and space complexity. Financial institutions and commercial enterprises organize much of the information by sorting. they must deal with a large amount of data. there might be millions of data rows. Now we have enough space but less time that is also one the major reasons of microservices architecture is being used nowadays. the microservice design enables the fast, frequent, and reliable delivery of large, sophisticated applications. Hence, the algorithms must be lightning fast. the purpose of this study is to improve on the classic Merge Sort Algorithm and create a new approach with a faster execution time. Merge sort is a popular method for sorting large datasets since it is typically efficient and straightforward to implement. the proposed method surpasses the standard Merge Sort algorithm, which has a time complexity of O(nlog 2 n). the proposed approach has been examined, executed, and compared, with favourable findings and the suggested modified mergesort algorithm is 12.12% faster than the usual merge sort.

Context: Software Architecture Smells (AS) are potential software structure problems and always impact software quality negatively. And with the development of Microservice architecture, the Microservice Architecture Smells (MAS) have been attracting more and more attention. the software scholars and developers have discovered the influence of MAS and performed some researches on them. However, the definition and category of MAS are still ambiguous. Objects: this paper aims to clarify the specific MAS categories and their definitions, and then further explores the issues caused by MAS in the migration process from a monolithic system to Microservice. Method: We performed a comprehensive systematic literature review about MAS. Specifically, we explored 13 white and 10 grey literature in detail to get MAS information by using the quantitative research method. To explore the issues that influence the migration process from a monolithic system to Microservice, we used the meta-ethnography qualitative research method to extract relevant information and get six three-order translations. Results: this study defined 22 Microservice Architecture Smells and classified them into five categories, namely design, Deployment, Monitor & Log, Communication and Team & Tool, based on their characteristics. Simultaneously, the issues that influence the migration process are proposed, including service cutting, databases, communication, team and techniques. Finally, we matched the MAS to the issues they caused in the migration process and recommended solutions to these issues. © 2022 ACM.

this work presents a six-port multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wideband antenna design using dielectric resonators (DR). this configuration uses a connected ground for designing of millimeter wave (mm-Wave) antenna working at 60/70 GHz frequency. the proposed antenna is designed on Rogers RT/duriod 5880 with a thickness of 0.254 mm. the DRA is designed through F4BTM-2 $\left(\epsilon_{r}=3.5\right)$ material. the operating frequency range of the proposed antenna is 60.81 GHz-76.19 GHz which achieves fractional impedance bandwidth of 22.45%. the proposed design has achieved 20 dB isolation and 9.9 dBi of gain within the operating frequency range. the MIMO performance parameters were calculated and found within the acceptable limit. the values of ECC and DG are 0.0025 and 10 dB respectively. Hence, the proposed antenna is suitable for mm Wave application.

the utilization of the millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum has become increasingly important, with the rise of 5G technology to address the growing demand for data speeds and network capacity. Within this high frequency range Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna systems play a role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of 5G communications. In this study researchers have delved into the methodologies employed in designing wideband and ultra-wideband MIMO antennas for mmWave applications in generation (5G) networks. By combining research discoveries, varied design approaches and practical implementations this study highlights the challenges associated with mmWave MIMO technology. the researchers also delve into an evaluation of MIMO performance includes ECC MIMO-T , DG MIMO-T TARC MIMo-T , CCL MIMO-T and MEGMIMO-T. Additionally, the analysis covers the design characteristics of MIMO antennas customized for 5G frequency bands.

this paper proposed a method for upgrading a 3D imaging sonar system from a stationary platform to a moving platform. In the underwater detection of infrastructures and small-scale structures in hydraulic engineering field, the three-dimensional imaging sonar system mounted on a stationary platform is an advanced technology but with a low measuring efficiency. Based on sonar measurement principle, coordinate and angle extraction technology, and three-dimensional spatial coordinate transformation, the real-time measurement of underwater structure by 3D imaging sonar system mounted on a moving platform is realized. the whole system consists of a 3D imaging sonar system (BV5000-1350), a satellite positioning and inertial sensor system (DGS680), a ship (moving platform), and a computer. After the installation and calibration of t DGS680 system, the times series of coordinates and angles (yaw, pitch and roll) of the BV5000-1350 system during the measuring period were obtained. By utilizing temporal interpolation and spatial coordinate transformation, the corrected 3D point clouds of underwater structures can be generated in real time. this method provides an economic and effective way to upgrade sonar measurement of small size equipment from stationary location to arbitrary path. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

the demand and acceptance of photovoltaic (PV) plants have increased steadily in remote agricultural areas of Ecuador, and the design of solar-powered microgrids (MG) provides a solution on these remote sites. the present paper explains the design of a control system used in an MG, based on classical and advanced automatic control techniques, applied to a three-phase inverter connected to a solar array with an irradiance study of the area for its installation. In the first instance, mathematical modeling of the MG inverter is presented. Also, including the design of other electronic components, such as grid filters and a direct current voltage boost converter, to tune two types of controllers, based on digital control and model based predictive control (MBPC), to regulate the alternating voltage given by the MG. A comparative analysis of the performance of both controllers was done, using MATLAB/SIMULINK®, and it was shown that the advanced controller gave a faster response, a lower overvoltage in the MG, and a stabilization of voltage. © 2021 IEEE.
