Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer worldwide. this fact has led to increased development of medical and computational methods to improve early diagnosis, aiming at reducing its fatality rate. Radiologists conduct lung cancer screening and diagnosis by localizing and characterizing pathologies. therefore, there is an inherent relationship between visual clinical findings and spatial location in the images. However, in previous work, this spatial relationship between multimodal data has not been exploited. In this work, we propose a Spatially-Aware Multimodal Network with Attention (SAMA) for early lung cancer diagnosis. Our approach takes advantage of the spatial relationship between visual and clinical information, emulating the diagnostic process of the specialist. Specifically, we propose a multimodal fusion module composed of dynamic filtering of visual features with clinical data followed by a channel attention mechanism. We provide empirical evidence of the potential of SAMA to integrate spatially visual and clinical information. Our method outperforms by 14.3% the state-of-the-art method in the LUng CAncer Screening with Multimodal Biomarkers Dataset.

the present demand for high-performance machinery requires the selection of materials and efficient methods for the design and fabrication of cam-follower. Many authors used various ways to modify the design, modelling, and performance of Cam-follower. the main objective of this paper is to study dif-ferent materials, design optimization, modelling, and analysis of a camshaft. this study could be an essential step for fixing the materials and optimizing the size of the cam to avoid failure in the camshaft. Due to the high speeds rotation of the camshaft, it may cause stress and vibrations in the system. therefore, instead of selecting conventional materials for Cam and follower mechanisms, this can be fab-ricated from Composite materials or Plastics. the self-lubricating composite Cam-Follower system requires no lubrication between the cam follower. therefore, saving on grease and maintenance hence are the best choice for clean-room operations. Here the approach is mostly fixing composite materials for the cam model, and it's a static and dynamic analysis by using computer-aided Engineering. this research furnishes us possible to solve such situations as exact load values concerning other rotating members. the software package (SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS) tools have been formulated to amplify the researcher's learning process. the software packages produce careful data regarding the stress, strain, dis-placement, velocity rate, and frequency of vibration of the shaft. By utilizing the cooperation among multiple access points (APs), 6G systems are capable of supporting both communication services and sensing tasks simultaneously. To avoid a high overhead of channel information acquisition due to the large-scale antennas at each AP, codebook design and beam training provide an efficient method for wireless communications by searching the optimal codeword in the codebook. However, a new challenge arises how to achieve accurate localization via joint beam training of multiple APs, especially when users may randomly locate in the near field and far field of each AP, rendering traditional far/near-field localization schemes not applicable enough. In this paper, we propose a joint multi-AP localization scheme based on fast beam training. We design a generalized hierarchical codebook for both near- and far-field users, where the coverage area of the codewords is progressively narrowed down across layers to acquire the user angle relative to each AP. Leveraging the angular information obtained from multiple APs, we develop a joint multi-AP localization algorithm aimed at minimizing the localization error. Simulation results reveal that the designed codebook can serve both near-field and far-field users. the proposed joint localization scheme achieve a higher localization accuracy while reducing the localization overhead compared to the traditional schemes.

With the rise of advanced technologies such as the Internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, and robotics, the electrical Internet of things for inspection robots has developed rapidly. How to efficiently operate and manage devices connected to the Internet of things is the key to realizing an electrical Internet of things system. So as to meet the individual needs of electrical equipment management. the purpose of this article is to discuss the integrated design of electrical Internet of things system for inspection robots. this article first discusses the background and significance of the subject research, the composition and characteristics of the electrical equipment Internet of things system. At the same time, the overall framework of the configuration software including the database system, the human-computer interaction interface system and the communication interface is designed and the functions of each part are analyzed to improve the intelligence of the system. Finally, using the various data information collected by the system of this study, the application research on equipment visible light recognition and fault prediction is carried out. Experimental data shows that the recognition rate and coverage rate of the visible light meter in the patrol robot electrical Internet of things system have reached more than 98%, and the average coverage rate of the above visible light is 99.9%, and the average recognition rate is 99.7%. the inspection coverage rate and meter recognition rate indicators meet the requirements of the inspection and acceptance rules. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As an effective means to solve the environmental resource problems of the river basin and coordinate the economic and social development of the upstream and downstream, a number of pilot projects have been carried out *** establishment of river basin ecological compensation standards requires monitoring of a number of indicators in the river basin to formulate corresponding assessment *** order to solve the problems of single monitoring indicators, inconsistent water quality and hydrological monitoring points, and low monitoring accuracy in the current river basin monitoring system in my country, this paper designs a pollutant flux ecological compensation monitoring system that can be used for ecological compensation in the river basin. As an effective and emerging component of intelligent education, Knowledge Tracing(KT) achieves the combination of artificial intelligence and individualized learning, whose aim is to assess students' mastery of knowledge concepts and assist in developing learning plans. Several existing KT models either use concepts sequence as input and evaluate students' knowledge state or treat exercise as input to predict students' future performance. In this paper, we introduce a constraint factor to extract concepts' and exercises' relation matrix, design three methods in representation learning, and propose a Multichannel Attention Networks based KT model(MAKT). Specifically, we restrict the co-occurrence relationship within a time window to extract the relation matrix and then train their representations via graph generative learning, graph contrastive learning, and matrix decomposition, respectively. In MAKT, a sliding window is implemented by multichannel where input sequence is sequentially lagged in turn by one position and attention mechanism is applied. We conduct experiments on several benchmark datasets and demonstrate that MAKT with concepts' and exercises' representation trained by matrix decomposition outperforms state-of-the-art models. © 2022 IEEE.

this paper presents our design of a crossmodal vocalization-haptic system to allow users to communicate emotions to a partner or pair of users. We explore affective context as a combination of user relationships (specifically the closeness between pairs of users) and user culture. We share the design and implementation of the crossmodal system that takes up to ten seconds of vocal expression (including humming or singing) from one user and transposes it into haptic signals to be displayed to twelve vibration actuators worn on the forearm of the second user. Our method of transposing musical vocal inputs captures the key signal features of rhythm, amplitude, time, and frequency. We present the results from a human subject study (N=20) involving 10 pairs of users with varying levels of closeness (ranging from siblings, friends, and strangers) to understand how our system supports affective communication. Our results show that low-level and rhythm audio parameters most strongly influence affective responses in our users. Additionally, the low-level vocal features are influenced by user demographics and the closeness between the pairs of users. the results suggest the impact of user closeness on affective communication and provide insights into the optimal music transposition methods best suited for affective communication.

Partially grouted reinforced masonry shear walls (PG-RMSWs) have emerged as an efficient and economic seismic force-resisting system in North America. Unlike fully grouted reinforced masonry shear walls (FG-RMSWs), where all masonry cells are grouted, in the PG-RMSWs system, grout is only placed in cells with vertical reinforcement and horizontally reinforced bond beams. this paper proposes two simplified models using Extreme Loading of Structures (ELS) and VecTor2 software to predict the cyclic behaviour of PG-RMSWs constructed with concrete-masonry blocks and having reinforced bond beams. the proposed models are validated against experimentally tested walls available in the literature and are found to be capable of simulating the experimental behaviour. this can be beneficial in structural health monitoring of systems having PG-RMSWs as their seismic force-resisting system (SFRS) by giving good predictions of their response. © 2022 international conference on Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure: Transferring Research into Practice, SHMII. Being able to selectively stimulate a particular neuron type while not activating other neuron types is key to many proposed treatments for several neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Such selective stimulation has been achieved using optogenetic methods but owing to the hurdles present in the use of optogenetics in humans, there has been recent interest in achieving selectivity using more classical techniques such as current stimulation. Often, approaches for designing selective current stimulations are either model-based, thereby limiting their practical applicability, and/or use trial and error, which allows only a limited exploration of the waveform space. In this work, we propose SelStim, a systematic algorithm for designing electrical current waveforms to selectively stimulate different neuron types using only data. SelStim iteratively designs selective current waveforms by adaptively sampling waveforms with an increasing degree of selectivity. the adaptivity allows SelStim to design selective waveforms in a data-efficient manner. Using data obtained on computational neuron models, we show that SelStim designs current waveforms which achieve a high degree of selectivity in stimulating particular neuron types requiring as few as ~200 datapoints. this amounts to a greater than 300% reduction in data requirements compared to a naive brute-force search for achieving similar selectivity.
