In this work, we proposed a hybrid plasmonic waveguide for bulk index sensing, which is compatible with Mach-Zehnder interferometer sensing arrangement. the modal properties of the guiding geometry are investigated using the finite element method. this waveguide supports a long-ranging hybrid plasmon mode, which is highly confined in nanofluidic analyte channel due to the optical capacitance effect. thus, an improved biosensing performance is demonstrated with high figure of merit at the telecommunication wavelength. the sensing performance is also analyzed here for a broad range of operating wavelength in order to examine the multiwavelength operability of the proposed hybrid plasmonic waveguide biosensor.

A simple and low power standalone photovoltaic (PV) water pumping system with conventional centrifugal pump is presented here. the system uses a DC-DC boost converter which extract the maximum power from the solar array and a Sine Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique based Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) for DC-AC conversion. the DC link voltage is controlled by varying pump speed to match the available solar power to pump power. the proposed control scheme requires no additional current and speed sensor. the simulation is performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK under different radiation condition. the simulation results show that the pump can run under low radiation and can fill up a 1000 liter tank within the average sun hours.

this paper presents an end-to-end high-level design flow for development and testing of robotic embedded software. Our design flow’s well-organized steps aim to minimize the potential issues of the software before the final implementation as well as the total development time. the proposed design flow devises a clear interface between the mechanics/hardware and the controller/software teams and is capable of being used in a wide range of robotic applications. Using our design flow, controllers can be developed thoroughly without the necessity of code adjustment. We demonstrate the applicability of our design flow using a synthetic case study and a real-world in-house mobile robot.
