Virtual Network Embedding (VNE) is an open Substrate provisioning problem. In fact, VNE tries to find the optimal substrate infrastructure for each virtual element. Previous works complete two phases of node and link mapping to embed Virtual Networks (VN) and try to check all possible scenarios. In this paper, the estimation of distribution algorithm (EDA) is used to embed VNs on the Substrate Network. In the coding method, we examined the mapping of nodes and links together, so we can easily use a univariate EDA. the evaluation results show the proposed method overcomes the previous methods like Presto and ACO-VNE in convergence and high acceptance ratio and high revenue in the VNE process.

the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) includes satellites of multiple types, ground facilities with multiple functions, and various user terminals. the docking test of multiple systems in ground is an important part for managing the design, construction, and deployment of the satellite navigation system. To achieve efficient parallel docking of multiple systems, this paper designs a platform for remote docking test. Specifically, the architecture, operating process, and functional performance of the docking test platform are designed according to the task and characteristics of the docking test for satellite navigation. Besides, some key techniques are also analyzed including the management of command and dispatch for multi-node system as well as the interconnection of remote fiber. this paper implements the effective interconnection between the simulation verification system and real engineering system, and realizes command control and timing scheduling with high-precision. the designed platform has the capability of full coverage test for signal and information projects, and the capability of remote docking test for multi-systems that work in parallel. By applying our platform, the docking efficiency can be improved, the docking cost can be reduced, and the implementation of high-density networking for satellite can be promoted. © 2021, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

In the transition from lower to upper secondary education, Italian students are expected to have achieved a level of competence which allows them to use knowledge and abilities to model and to understand scientific and technical disciplines. National standardized tests show that especially students who attend technical high schools often have gaps or misunderstandings in their basic knowledge, which may hinder them in learning scientific technical disciplines, which are at the core of their curriculum. In this paper we start from items designed for summative assessment which highlight the main difficulties that students face with Mathematics at this stage, and discuss how it is possible to adapt them to automatic formative assessment through a process of expansion and digitalization, with the aim of helping students fill the gaps and develop mathematical competences. the activities are part of an online course, called "MATE-BOOSTER", conceived to strengthen mathematical skills of students attending the first year of a technical upper secondary school. In this paper the process of design of MATE-BOOSTER, rooted on constructivist assumptions, is outlined;the design of tasks for automatic formative assessment is discussed in details, and some examples of online activities are analyzed in light of a theoretical framework.

In the modern era of digital communication, social media platforms are data factories and hence provide a new set of opportunities as well as challenges before the analysts. the objective of this paper is to evaluate the scalability and performance of various ML algorithms for social media data analysis in practice with high-volume datasets. the objective is to design ML algorithms that are scalable and achieve high accuracy when used with big datasets. In a literature survey, observed gaps in the present research advancements toward scalability and performance analysis for various ML techniques used for this intent. To make sure of diversity and size, we collected a big source from different social networks. the approach we did involve assessing a number of ML methods that are widely known like natural language processing (NLP), sentiment analysis (SA) and predictive analytics on scalability factors such as time to process and resource utilization while also considering performance metrics such as accuracy precision recall rate f1 score. the results demonstrate significant differences in the scalability of investigated approaches and their quality, such as some algorithms being more efficient or accurate at a large scale. this research adds value to the existing works in this area, by performing a detailed comparative study of ML techniques for large-scale social media data processing considering scalability vs performance tradeoffs. the findings are informative, for the research and practice community, on selection of suitable ML techniques that will be applicable to social media analytics; scalability is an important factor in this era dominated by big data. In future research, more advanced techniques and hybrids should be taken into account to enhance the scalability and performance of social media data analysis.

Macau is widely regarded as a tourism-oriented city, thanks to its captivating and numerous buildings and architectural structures on the World Heritage List. So we have to understand how to appreciate this advantage, which only existed in Macau, and express this unique culture to visitors to keep attracting more tourists to Macau. Given that the next generation will almost certainly use digital devices, including digital art in the Macau historical rehabilitation project would be exciting. this effort achieves two important goals: first, it provides a more improved and enriching way to experience Macau, and second, it assures the preservation and conservation of its original legacy. Macau's street signage is unique and incorporates a captivating style of porcelain painting technique. It highlights the tremendous significance and value that street names have carried since their execution, adding to the rich fabric of Macau's Intangible Cultural Heritage. Because of that, it presents an intriguing opportunity for study and experimentation. My concept revolves around the re-imagination of street signage by using digital illustrations and Augmented Reality (AR) technology, which is a new trend being used in many Heritage sites around Asia [1] which brings the user a new experience when travelling around the city, providing users with a different experience when visiting ***, this project has a dual purpose; it aims to inform its users about the rich historical past of Macau's street signage and give them a fresh and immersive new experience of the past in the present. We aim to improve people's awareness and enjoyment of Macau's cultural past by effortlessly combining technology and heritage. the goal focuses on promoting the advancement of historical knowledge while also creating a greater interest in studying the broader tapestry of Macau's Heritage.

Robin soft-core is a new, small footprint, open-source processor, designed as an educational project, using the hardware description language VHDL. the processor is being developed based on specifications which are detailed in the present paper. Each processor part is implemented as a student project. the relevant documentation is part of the teaching material in the lesson of digital systems design, as well as in other modules of the curriculum, like computer architecture and embedded systems. Being an open project, the development of the Robin soft-core invites students and other contributors to develop their own version of the processor and its peripherals. the current implementation is based on a MAX10 FPGA device by Intel.

We present a neural network to detect playing cards in real poker scenes through a camera, where the playing card area represents only 0.7% of the shot table area. In the acquired images, the suits of cards are fuzzy and difficult to identify, even to the naked eye. Because of the relatively few pixels corresponding to the cards, traditional image processing and pattern recognition methods struggle to detect them. therefore, we use deep learning methods to detect, which have shown to be easy-to-use, faster and more accurate in a broad range of computer vision applications over the years. Inspired by the sandglass block, we improved the current state-of-the-art neural network architecture for object detection, EfficientDet, to retain more features. Experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our improved EfficientDet model and showed that it achieved considerable performance improvement compared with the other deep learning models.

Autoencoder-based part clustering for part-in-whole retrieval of CAD models

Part-in-whole retrieval (PWR) is an important problem in the field of computer-aided design (CAD) with applications in design reuse, feature recognition and suppression and so on. Initially, we present a non parametric (and hence threshold independent) algorithm for segmenting CAD models (represented as meshes) which does not require any user intervention. As there is no labelled segmented dataset available for part clustering, we propose the use of autoencoders, one of the approaches used in deep networks along with hierarchical clustering. the features for autoencoder is derived from the Gauss map of the segments. the autoencoder network is then trained and validated using a hierarchical clustering-based approach that generates a dictionary of labels for each segment. PWR is then done by testing a query model with the network that retrieves models having the query as their subset. Comparison of the segmentation algorithm with the state-of-the-art approaches indicate that it performs better or on par. the algorithm was also tested for noisy models. Results of the part clustering and PWR are also presented for models from a CAD dataset along with the discussions. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

the authors propose the description of the development of a device for multiplying numbers. the device for multiplying numbers on the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) includes two input and one output registers, fifty-six single-digit adders, sixty four logic elements AND, one exclusive OR gate. the main scientific and technical task in developing a device for multiplying numbers is to reduce hardware complexity using single-bit adders and logic elements. Introduction includes description of works of scientists and researchers whose publications are devoted to design and development of multiplier construction methods, multiplier FIR performance improvement by right-shift and addition method on FPGA (field-programmable gate array) basis. the implementation of MAC-block, hardware implementation of binary multiplier on the basis of multi operand adder, multiplier design by right-sliding and addition with control automaton in the FPGA basis is the actual research tasks presented in a number of papers. the description of features of multiplier implementation, high-speed multipliers with variable bit rate, studies of approaches for designing modular multipliers, FPGA image processing using Brown multiplier for performing convolution operation find application in problems of performance and speed. Also, a number of authors describe implementation of conveyorization method, design of dual multiplier, construction method of 8-bit multiplier with reduced delay, 8-bit high-density systolic multiplier arrays on FPGA and development of high-performance 8-bit multiplier using McCMOS technology. A fragment of a developed device for multiplying numbers is presented in the work by the authors. the principle of operation of a device for multiplication is described. the description of connected elements of the device is given. the timing diagrams of operation of a device for multiplication of numbers are presented. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing.
