Detecting hate speech in text is essential in today’s digital age, where online platforms strive to eliminate toxic discourse and create a healthy environment for users. In response to this challenge, we introduce SE4Hate, a Transformer-based model built on Electra Small, designed to tackle hate speech classification on social networks. Our model achieves an F1 score of 78.8785%, surpassing conventional approaches based on Transformers and Large Language Models (LLMs) like RoBERTa, ChatGPT, and FastChat T5, thanks to its cost-effective architecture and strong performance. Despite trailing the top state-of-the-art approach by 0.6%, which relies on an architecture seven times more complex, the model still provides notable improvements in cost-efficiency while maintaining a lightweight, traditional Transformer-based design. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Complying with the international Building Code (IBC) is essential in architectural design. computer-aided design (CAD) tools have been developed to perform BIM-based (Building Information Modeling) rule checking for fire egress scenarios. Such tools are helpful in identifying design flaws for potential egress evacuations. However, these rule checking tools consider static building design features without considering the space semantics (i.e. what the space is designed for), and more importantly, time-based dynamics to understand how the design would impact the behavior of human inhabitants. As a result, a building design may pose threats for human safety. this work aims to develop a computational tool to perform an automatic semantic-based simulation-powered rule checking for fire egress scenarios in architectural design. Beyond static geometric information, the tool considers space semantics and utilizes dynamic crowd simulations to predict the impact of a design-space with respect to potential egress evacuation on the safety of human inhabitants. A case-study showcases how simulation-powered semantic-based egress analyses can identify problematic areas for potential safety hazard and provide time-based dynamics of potential building–occupant interactions. © 2020 Society for Modeling & Simulation international (SCS)

Public participation is a fundamental step of decision-making processes to achieve a good social sharing and robustness of the decision itself. In transport decisions spatial criteria assume a key role, since their assessment, and therefore their classification, is also dependent on the spatial distribution of people affected by a project. In this view, collaborative mapping can be considered a tool able to engage communities and individuals in spatial decision-making in the context of transport planning and, more in general, in designing their own environment. this study presents a first test of a collaborative mapping process, conducted within a design workshop aimed at finding solutions to secure an unsafe crossing to access a university campus;the collected information were discussed directly with the public, in a venue with designers, citizens and decision-makers. Starting from advantages and disadvantages of this experience, the authors developed the framework for a spatial collaborative tool aimed at evaluating the safety and pleasantness of urban spaces and mobility spots able to permit a wider participation. the tool is conceived as bidirectional: on the one hand, users enter information on their mobility habits and provide the location and assessment of points considered dangerous during their trips;on the other, the map itself is attractive since it includes the information provided by the other users. Results coming from the participation can be useful for decision-makers to evaluate priority in the design of new interventions in the study area. © 2021, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We discuss the design of Mopsa, an ongoing effort to design a novel semantic static analyzer by abstract interpretation. Mopsa strives to achieve a high degree of modularity and extensibility by considering value abstractions for numeric, pointer, objects, arrays, etc. as well as syntax-driven iterators and control-flow abstractions uniformly as domain modules, which offer a unified signature and loose coupling, so that they can be combined and reused at will. Moreover, domains can dynamically rewrite expressions, which simplifies the design of relational abstractions, encourages a design based on layered semantics, and enables domain reuse across different analyses and different languages. We present preliminary applications of Mopsa analyzing simple programs in subsets of the C and Python programming languages, checking them for run-time errors and uncaught exceptions.

One of the key components of modern aircraft is a complex of airborne systems. A complex of on-board systems is a combination of interconnected systems, including a hydraulic system, an aircraft remote control system, an air conditioning system, etc., ensuring the performance of the aircraft's target functions. the complex of on-board systems includes many units that ensure reliable and trouble-free operation of the aircraft. For modern aircraft, helicopter and space technology, the issue of ensuring thermal balance is one of the main ones. Heat exchangers (HE) are widely used in the aviation and space industries. Such devices are used to ensure and maintain a given temperature regime by removing or supplying energy in relation to the working area. [1, 2] In general, a HE is a device for communicating energy from a heated coolant to a colder one. the effectiveness of HE depends on many factors, priority is:- heat transfer coefficient characterizing the proportion of transferred heat;- design features of the HE. To improve the characteristics of heat exchangers, technologies are actively developing to create highly efficient and reliable HE designs. the most optimal method of manufacturing the apparatus is laser sintering of a metal powder. Additive technologies allow you to produce parts directly from a computer file containing a 3D model. And this, in turn, provides flexibility that allows the rapid production of complex customized products and spare parts, which either cannot be manufactured using traditional production technologies or are required in small volumes.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging is a well-known technology for visualizing retinal layers and helps ophthalmologists to detect possible diseases. Accurate and early diagnosis of common retinal diseases can prevent the patients from suffering critical damages to their vision. computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems can significantly assist ophthalmologists in improving their examinations. this paper presents a new enhanced deep ensemble convolutional neural network for detecting retinal diseases from OCT images. Our model generates rich and multi-resolution features by employing the learning architectures of two robust convolutional models. Spatial resolution is a critical factor in medical images, especially the OCT images that contain tiny essential points. To empower our model, we apply a new post-architecture model to our ensemble model for enhancing spatial resolution learning without increasing computational costs. the introduced post-architecture model can be deployed to any feature extraction model to improve the utilization of the feature map’s spatial values. We have collected two open-source datasets for our experiments to make our models capable of detecting six crucial retinal diseases: Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR), Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), and Drusen alongside the normal cases. Our experiments on two datasets and comparing our model with some other well-known deep convolutional neural networks have proven that our architecture can increase the classification accuracy up to 5%. We hope that our proposed methods create the next step of CAD systems development and help future researches.

In this paper, we propose a simplified mesh deformation method based on the differentiable calculation and uses the Pytorch3D library of deep learning. there are four stages, simplification, deformation, subdivision, re-deformation in this method. the simplification stage transforms the original target mesh into a simple mesh. the deformation stage uses the Pytorch3D tool to predict the simple mesh in the simplification result. the subdivision stage subdivides the resulting mesh of deformation, and the re-deformation stage uses the subdivision stage result mesh as the source mesh to predict the original target mesh. Our experiment shows that the number of iterations is similar or less in terms of shape and local features after simplifying the predicted target mesh. Our method is superior to the direct mesh deformation method in terms of mesh deformation speed and local mesh characteristics of deformation and has a better deformation effect.

Cab ergonomics has an important impact on road safety and driver health, especially for heavy trucks, which is the main tool for long distance road transportation and usually result in more serious consequences than other types of vehicle if an accident occurs. However, for a long time, due to the poor design of the heavy truck cab, the situation of causing road risk and driver health problems have not been significantly improved. the understanding of the current ergonomic situation of the heavy truck cab will stimulate the design improvement. this paper investigated and analyzed the ergonomic problems and using experience of heavy truck cab installations, as well as the characteristics of professional driver groups and driving habits. the interviews and questionnaire survey on heavy truck drivers were used. the data was analyzed through statistical methods such as significance tests. It was found that the current truck cab components, including seat belts, seats, steering wheels, accelerators, brakes and clutch pedals, and shift levers, had varying degrees of ergonomic weakness. the research results provide reference for understanding the characteristics of heavy truck users, driving habits, user needs and existing design deficiencies, and improving of heavy truck cabs ergonomic design.

Since there is a swift technological progress going on in the recent years, semiconductor industry evolved to such an extend that requirement of optimal performance in electronic circuits have become essential. therefore, there is high requirement of energy efficient fast circuit designs in modern Integrated Circuits (IC). Comparison of two binary digits is one of the fundamental arithmetic operations in Arithmetic Logic Units (ALU) of ICs and processors. A hybrid design approach for implementing a two-bit Magnitude Comparator (MC) has been proposed in this work. the hybrid design consists of three different logic techniques namely: (a) Pass Transistor Logic (PTL), (b) Transmission Gate Logic (TGL) and (c) Conventional Static CMOS Logic (C-CMOS logic). the effectiveness of the proposed design has been compared with 6 state of art two-bit magnitude comparators using Cadence tools in 90 nm technology node. the proposed design showed best perormacne in case of delay and Power Delay Product (PDP) which proved the effectiveness of the design, Moreover, power consumption of the design is also low which makes it highly usable for portable devices that requires low-power consumption. © 2020 IEEE.

Among the most avoidable diseases on the planet is epidermal concerns. At any rate being normal, its research is quite difficult due to its intricate colors, hair is present, hiding. Early diagnosis of skin diseases is critical to successful treatment. the skills and experience of such expert specialist are used to determine the procedure for identifying and treating skin damage. the analytical engagement need to be precise and perfect. the success rates including both clinical diagnostic and clinical therapeutic frameworks are steadily rising as a result of novel advances in medicine and data. AI equations and the exploitation of the vast amount of information available in health centres and medical facilities have been used in the area of skin disease diagnosis. Very many historical analyses of skin diseases using approaches for classifying them based on AI principles were compiled for this work. the experts used a variety of frameworks, tools, and computations in a collection of prior investigations. A few paradigms have proven successful in classifying skin conditions and achieving variable indicative accuracy. Various frameworks have relied on image processing and component extraction approaches to identify and predict different forms of illness. there are many systems designed to identify certain types of skin infections using clinical cues and information gleaned from tissue breakdowns after a skin biopsy of the affected area. this study explains how to use several PC vision-based methodologies (deep understanding) to afterwards predict the various types of skin disorders. this research sought to evaluate the compilations of a few well-known computations in order to design an effective PC-assisted framework for detecting breast and skin diseases that would benefit medical professionals and patients.
