this paper considers a ferry service network design problem using autonomous ferries for the practical case of the Kiel fjord. Among others, the city of Kiel, Germany, currently runs a number of initiatives for developing an autonomous ferry system to open up new mobility opportunities. the city is divided by the Kiel fjord into an eastern and a western part and the current infrastructure is mainly built to accommodate car transportation on roads around the fjord. We provide a new optimization model for the generation of schedules for an autonomous ferry service, including route design and determination of departure frequencies. the model captures practically relevant aspects of minimum required departure frequencies between specific port pairs and understandable ferry schedules, whilst maximizing customer service quality (i.e., excess transit times and departure frequencies). We provide a two-step optimization approach where candidate combinations of routes and departure frequencies are heuristically generated a priori and fed into an integer programming model. Experiments on real world data provide managerial insights in regard to ferry fleet size, port network design and ferry schedules.

To overcome the shortcomings of the traditional teaching model, this paper proposes a novel application design based on advanced project-driven in the teaching process of JSP courses, which is capable of simultaneously boosting students' theoretical and practical abilities. Particularly, the teaching knowledge points are decomposed into dual tasks involving theoretical and practical goals by following the way of “project advanced guidance, task decomposition driven”. Compared withthe traditional teaching model, splitting the knowledge points into the project during the teaching process can not only improve the learning efficiency but also cultivate the students' computer practice ability. the research results verify that our proposed teaching model allows students to deepen their knowledge mastery, establish a complete knowledge system, improve their practical ability, and finally apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems in the real world.

In connection withthe improvement of the university management system based on information and communication technologies, the problem of automating the scheduling of training sessions is becoming more and more challenging issue. the solution to this problem depends on the specifics of a particular educational institution and requires the availability of “flexible” methods and algorithms. In addition, the development of information and communication technologies has led to the development of such a direction as distance learning which is especially valuable during the coronavirus pandemic. Taking into account the development and implementation of distance learning in conjunction with traditional training at the university, the task was set to combine the training schedule for two different forms of training. this article describes the development and implementation of the compilation and optimization of the schedule for semester classes in universities based on a genetic algorithm. For this algorithm, various stages of work are defined and implemented: the initial and output data for scheduling are determined, the constraints imposing on schedules are determined, the fitness function is determined based on the weight coefficients of the constraints, the rules of the genetic algorithm at various stages of its work are determined - the generation of the initial population, crossover operator and mutation operators, conditions for selecting individuals and condition for completing the algorithm work and selecting the final schedule.

Multiple myeloma is a haematological cancer that occurs in plasma cells. the increase in the myeloma cells induces the reduction in all the blood cells. this paper presents the computer-aided methodology for multiple myeloma detection and diagnosis. Convolutional neural network is employed in order to detect multiple myeloma while using microscopic images of blood. Pre-trained and fine-tuned AlexNet is used for diagnosis of myeloma. Microscopic images are classified into normal and blast using AlexNet as feature extractor and SVM for classification. Proposed methodology is compared with state-of-the art in literature and the presented technique outperforms the previous methodologies.
