In the present paper methodology of computer aided geometric modeling of formation of workpieces with periodic teeth machined with centroid enveloping method is developed without involving complex mathematical apparatus. During its application, as opposed to already known methods, simultaneous modeling of two objects of formation - wraparound and removed contents - takes place. Analysis of configurations of solid models of cutaway layers and respective removed content volumes allows a design engineer to intentionally set the optimal values of tool advance parameter and number of passes. the key point of the present paper is to establish logical connection between geometric computer simulation of removed contents in CAD environment and analysis of chip formation in the process of cutting using ANSYS software. In the present paper AutoCAD 3D simulations rendering of cutaway layers is shown along with the corresponding realistic simulation of chips, created using metal cutting process finite element analysis software. Due to substantial difficulties of cutting process 3D simulation, it is considered reasonable to perform computer simulation of cutaway layers geometry generation on the first stage of problem solving. this will allow us to choose the optimal cutting parameters and consequently speed up the cutting process simulation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Deep coupling neural network for robust facial landmark detection

Facial landmark detection aims at locating a sparse set of fiducial facial key-points. Two significant issues (i.e., Intra-Dataset Variation and Inter-Dataset Variation) remain in datasets which dramatically lead to performance degradation. Specifically, dataset variations will lead to severe over-fitting easily and perform poor generalization in recent in-the-wild datasets which severely harm the robustness of facial landmark detection algorithm. In this study, we show that model robustness can be significantly improved by lever-aging rich variations within and between different datasets. this is non-trivial because of the serious data bias within one certain dataset and inconsistent landmark definitions between different datasets, which make it an extraordinarily tough task. To address the mentioned problems, we proposed a novel Deep Coupling Neural Network (DCNN), which consists of two strong coupling sub-networks, e.g., Dataset-Across Network (DA-Net) and Candidate-Decision Network (CD-Net). In particular, DA-Net takes advantage of different characteristics and distributions across different datasets, while CD-Net makes a final decision on candidate hypotheses given by DA-Net to leverage variations within one certain dataset. Extensive evaluations show that our approach dramatically outperforms state-of-the-art methods on the challenging 300-W and WFLW dataset (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Active learning becomes a strategical approach for an educational principle. the student engagement become a wider concern. Many researches have been proposed to support the approach. However, one of issues is how to effectively evaluate the performance and progress of students' learning. Although, having student engagement in a classroom is vital, the evaluation of students' performance is more important. However, keeping up the details or records of students' progress is a difficult task. We therefore propose a support for instructors to evaluate the performance of their students. In particular, a prototype tool is designed and developed in order to facilitate the evaluation of activities based on an active learning class. the tool also encompasses the web service for a function of face feature recognition. Two scenarios of active learning classrooms are created in order to evaluate the prototype tool. We also plan to create a larger number of scenarios which involve different class objectives. the results show that the tool can detect and determine students with high precision values. However, the prototype tool takes a long time to be processed depending on the size and number of photos.

With ever changing software industry which has reached the peak of automation it required that all the domains are equipped with automated systems. the cashew industry plays a very important role in the economy of our country, with a major part of the produce being exported. But this cashew industry is yet to see a lot of automation. the entire process of cashew production is manual with few machines providing automation added just recently. there are ERP software's available for the cashew factories to provide the first level of sophistication. Our methodology proposed here provide a step towards the next level. the idea will be designed and developed as a standalone application which will act as an extension to ERP software's. It is a combination of hardware and software put together to achieve a great deal of easiness from a process which otherwise require manual work. We propose to design a system involving a hardware unit containing a controller device along with a load cell and other accessories, which will communicate with the central database through an Android phone. In the cashew production process, there is a stage in which the cashews need to be peeled. After the cashew is cut through the hard-outer shell, there is another thin layer of skin on the edible cashew kernel, which needs to be removed. this peeling process is done manually by household ladies at per kilogram rate. Our system will help cashew producers to deliver cashews to the women for peeling process without having to make register entries. this process of keeping track of cashews delivered to the working women is done on a central server database. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2020.

the Cloud-based techniques emerging Internet of things (IoT) with Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are enabling many new applications and new opportunities to people in VANET scenario. this paper presents a smart home gardening system;which is able to gather real-time data with various parameters used in gardening system. the technology used in this paper is going to help the society in terms of economic impact. Home gardening is considered an essential new trend for the awareness of the society towards environment. the efficient wireless communication using smart sensors facilitates cost effective solutions to real-time home gardening management system. Precision home gardening management system may optimize resources utilizations, smart sensors deployment and improves society awareness towards pollution free environment. this paper presents the design, implementation and validation process of new innovative technologies which can gather data related to home gardening like humidity, temperature, fertilizers compositions, and many more, push gathered data into VANET cloud for analysis, generate alerts and notify it to user for appropriate actions. In this paper, we present Cloud-based IoT technologies in VANET implementation for smart home gardening management system, which primarily focuses on real-world challenge of developing pollution free smart home in cities. We demonstrate the implementation of proposed system and discuss the results. © 2020 IEEE.

the nonlinear trajectory tracking control problem for underactuated mechanical systems is considered on the example of a ship motion model. the control that implements the goal should be designed taking into account feedback delay as well as state and control constraints. the purpose is to propose a control law such that, on the one hand, it has the form of explicit feedback, on the other hand, its parameters can be found using standard software tools, provided that the numerical characteristics of the system are specified. In this case, uniform asymptotic stability of the desired motion of the system should be ensured. the problem is solved by reducing to the stabilization problem for a triangular LPV system with the subsequent transformation into several optimization problems with standard numerical procedures for solving. the domain of attraction that fit into the prescribed region is estimated via sublevel sets of quadratic Lyapunov functions using the Razumikhin conditions and stability properties of cascaded systems. the developed algorithms are implemented based on standard procedures of computational software. the results obtained can be applied to other control problems. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the purpose of this study was to explore whether virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) cervical somatosensory games can effectively alleviate neck discomfort caused by mobile phones. If validation was effective, the effect of VR and AR games on neck muscle fatigue alleviation was compared. Twenty-four healthy adults between ages 19 and 25 participated in the study. Experiment 1 was to verify the fatigue of neck and shoulder muscles caused by long-term use of mobile phones. Experiment 2 explored whether the VR game and the AR game have an impact on neck muscle fatigue and compared the degree of influence. the integrated electromyography (IEMG) and median frequency (MF) of the upper trapezius, splenius cervical muscles, and sternocleidomastoid muscles were collected. Experiment 1 showed that the MF of some muscles of the participants of both the VR group and the AR group decreased with time, while the IEMG of some muscles increased with time. Experiment 2 showed that the MF of some muscles of the participants of both the VR group and the AR group showed an upward trend, while the IEMG of some muscles showed a downward trend. there were significant differences between experiment 1 and experiment 2 (P < 0.05). the results of the subjective evaluation scale of neck muscle fatigue filled in by the participants were consistent with the experimental results, which showed that both the VR group and the AR group could feel the cervical relief, and the VR game could better alleviate the neck and shoulder muscle fatigue.

Multi-label causal feature selection plays a vital role in dealing with high-dimensional multi-label data, since the selected causal features signify the causal mechanism with respect to the class attribute. At present, the descriptive information of data is collected from different data sources in many practical applications. therefore, there is a need of developing multi-source multi-label causal feature selection algorithms. In addition, existing multi-label causal feature selection algorithms cannot directly address multi-source heterogeneous distribution feature spaces. To address these problems, in this paper, we utilize the concept of causal invariance in causal inference. Firstly, we formulate the multi-label causal feature selection problem for multiple data sources as an invariant set search problem across the data sources. Secondly, we present the upper and lower bounds of the causal invariant set. Finally, we design a novel Multi-source Multi-label Causal Feature Selection (MMCFS) algorithm. Extensive experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm by comparing it with state-of-the-art methods on synthetic datasets.

In this study, the researchers focus in the modeling of the Harmonic Behavior in the computer Laboratory and the proposed design of the Power Conditioning System of the computer Laboratory. the study was conducted in a manner of instrumentation survey and by gathering technical data and load analysis. Technical concepts, theories and their application to signals and signal processing guided this study on the technical feasibility of the design. Results from the study shows that the computer Laboratory of the college is paying unwanted energy and is at risk of overloading its electrical distribution wirings. A model of the degree of pollution of this unwanted energy which is the harmonic current was developed in the study. Analysis of several mitigation methods was also presented, that gave insights on the viability and economic aspect of the design. Furthermore, the study recommends appropriate action for the installation of the power conditioning system for the computer Laboratory which could also be adopted by data centers. the emphasis lies not only on the saving that a computer laboratory/data center can obtain but also to the longevity of electrical and electronic equipment and safety welfare of the personnel's working in the premises.

the paper is devoted to system design and experimental study of the combined action of working conditions and occupational hazards on human health. the analysis has shown that man-made factors adversely affect public health including chemicals that act in combination with physical environmental factors, as well as the automation of modern production processes with the use of electromagnetic energy has led to an increase in electromagnetic radiation density, which is a powerful xenobiotic factor and can affect human organs and systems. therefore, in order to achieve the identifying patterns of influence on employees of various combinations of chemical and physical factors, the original experimental study of the combined action of factors of different nature (electromagnetic radiation, positive low temperatures, and lubricating coolant) has been developed. the paper presents the experimental chamber, stages of the investigation using special type of neurocompressor, and analysis of the results obtained during the study. Finally, the cognitive architecture for a definition of combined action of working conditions and occupational hazards based on machine learning has been proposed.
