In this paper we present a new adaptive rendering method for general Catmull-Clark subdivision surfaces. the new method is based on direct evaluation of the limit surface to generate an inscribed polyhedron of the limit surface. the method generates less polygons in the filial rendering process because inscribed approximation usually provides faster convergent rate than circumscribed approximation. the new adaptive rendering method call precisely measure error for every point of the limit surface. Hence, it has complete control of the accuracy of the rendering result. Cracks are avoided by using a recursive marking process to ensure that adjacent patches or subpatches use the same limit surface points in the construction of the shared boundary. the new method performs limit surface evaluation only at points that are needed for the filial rendering process. therefore it is very fast and memory efficient.

In the paper, a general topology of continuous-time Active-RC filter is presented. the model includes all possible Active-RC filter structures as particular cases and allows us to analyze them using a unified algebraic formalism. this makes it suitable for use in computer-aided analysis and design of Active-RC filters. By its construction, the model takes into account finite DC gain and finite bandwidth as well as non-zero output resistance of operational amplifiers. A novel CAD geometric variation approach is proposed for machining a complicated shape workpiece and lettering on a 3D free form surface or a plane by means of a 3-dof parallel machine tool. First, a simulation mechanism of a 3-dof 3-SPR parallel manipulator is created, and its workspace is constructed by means of the 3-SPR simulation mechanism. Second, the tool path guiding plane and the simulation mechanism of the 3-dof 3-SPR parallel machine tool are combined to form a whole simulation mechanism. third, the extension of the active legs and the position of the platform are solved automatically and can be visualized dynamically by means of the simulation mechanism. the simulation results are verified by the analytic results. the CAD geometric variation approach has the advantages of simple and straightforward, without any need of compiling program.

Based on multi-grid and equivalent circuit methods, an efficient algorithm for open-defect analysis, called as FODA, is proposed in this paper to solve nodal voltage distribution for a PIG network of open defects. the FODA algorithm consists of three successive steps. the first step uses the equivalent circuit method and the multi-grid method to compact the circuit. the second step uses the SOR algorithm for solving the remaindering circuit. the SOR algorithm becomes our favor owing to high efficiency and easy coding. the third step back solves the cancelled node based on the voltage-known nodes. Experiments show that FODA is of high accuracy, low complexity, wide application, and so on. Compared withthe general ICCG algorithm, FODA is 36X faster withthe penalty of ignored accuracy loss(<0.03% on average), and can solve two additional test cases that is unsolved to ICCG.
