the main purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that new computer and communication technology has the potential to change architectural education in a positive way, based on previous experiences and learning from the past. this research is based on two historical aspects that we bring together in order to propose a new didactic method and material for architectural education: the first one consists in finding obsolete architectural training practices and reconsidering them from a modern point of view;the second one proposes using precedents in a new constructive way in situation of teaching architectural conception in Studio. this historical approach, combined with architectural design Studio observations, has lead to an outline of a prototype of a digital assistant for teaching architectural design. Some aspects of its functioning are here discussed.

Logic rewriting is an important optimization function that can improve Quality of Results (QoR) in modern VLSI circuits. this optimization function usually has a greedy approach and involves steps such as graph traversal, cut computation and ranking, and functional matching. For logic rewriting to be effective in improving the QoR, there should be many local rewriting iterations which can be very slow for industrial level benchmark circuits. One effective solution to speed up the logic rewriting operation is to upload its time consuming steps to graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to benefit from massively parallel computations that is available there. In this regard, the present contest problem studies the possibility of using GPUs in accelerating a classical logic rewriting function. State-of-the-art large-scale open-source benchmark circuits as well as industrial-level designs will be used to test the GPU accelerated logic rewriting function.

this study aimed to develop prediction models for ionic conductivity and viscosity of ionic liquids (ILs) using quantitative structure property relationships (QSPR) coupled withthe descriptors of group contribution type. Utilizing this method, the reverse design of ionic liquids should be available by just a very simple iterative calculation. the polynomial expansion model based on the type of cation, length of side chain, and type of anion was applied to the expression of ionic liquid properties. Parameters of these polynomial expansion models were determined by means of a genetic algorithm (GA), one of the most popular chemoinformatics techniques. We also undertook the reverse design of ILs. Using this group contribution base properties estimation method, our reverse design system cyclopaedically generated lLs structures corresponding to particular physical properties.
