the opioid crisis persists in shattering lives and devastating families across the US with nearly 38 opioid-related deaths per day in 2019. Mobile health applications, commonly known as mhealth apps, have shown potential in improving interventions in addictive disorders and are increasing in popularity as smartphone technology becomes more affordable and accessible. Although thousands of mhealth apps are available, several reviews have noted gaps in assessing the efficacy of these apps. Specifically, many of these apps lack evidence-based strategies and do not implement a user experience (UX) design approach. UX designthinking seeks to optimize the success of a product and provides critical insights into user needs and preferences. In this work, we provide a case study that follows the UX design framework, empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, testing, to guide the development of a mhealth app focused on managing cravings related to Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). We empathized with11 adults diagnosed with OUD through semi-structured interviews and performed heuristic evaluation withthree experts on a low-fidelity prototype. In conjunction with literature review findings, the interview results reveal a need for evidence-based remote interventions and providing an appropriate level of care congruent to individual recovery progress. We identified through literature investigation and consultation of a licensed clinical psychologist that cognitive behavioral therapy videos and biofeedback breathing interventions are efficacious strategies for managing cravings caused by OUD. therefore, we implemented these features into a high-fidelity prototype influenced by findings from the literature, our target population, and heuristic evaluation.

Educational games are usually delivered as ready-to-use tools, with little to no customization features, and meeting specific needs of learners, as well as of learning contexts remains a key issue. the emergence of authoring tools in the last decade aimed to address this challenge, and to provide teachers means to improve the use of games in education. In spite of that, bridging games and education, especially inclusive education, is yet to reach momentum. In creating serious games, teachers are to follow the rigors of game design processes, and attempt to meet the learner expectations that are shaped by a decades-old, successful entertainment industry. In this context, the authors discuss the challenges associated with gamified and game-based authoring processes, and present the rationale behind the design of an authoring tool that aims to provide teachers with a richer inventory of assets and tools to facilitate the creation of engaging learning experiences in support of inclusive education.

Maze routing is usually the most time-consuming step in global routing or detailed routing. One possible way to accelerate it is to use parallel computing. Net-level parallelism is commonly used but it is affected greatly by the dependency between nets. there are few GPU-friendly parallel maze routers, which can be nontrivial to design. In this paper, we propose a pathfinding-level parallel 3D routing scheme. We implemented it in CUDA and applied it to the coarsened maze routing stage of an open source global router CUGR. Compared with CUGR on the ICCAD 2019 global routing contest benchmark suite, we achieve an average of 16 x speedup in the coarsened maze routing stage without loss of quality.
