People with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) suffer from recurring unwanted thoughts (called obsessions) that drive them to do certain actions repetitively (called compulsions). People with OCD feels stuck in a stressful cycle of obsessions and compulsions. there are two approaches to diagnosing and assessing people with OCD. the first one is conducted in the doctor's office. the second one is conducted inside a special-purpose room that is typically setup in the hospital. this second environment is constructed using virtual and augmented reality. Both approaches are challenging with difficulties such as the high cost and stigma of therapy. Fortunately, there is a third approach that uses specialized computer games to achieve the same goals. this third approach has not been researched yet in the context of OCD detection and measurement. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a serious game that can provoke OCD and then measure the intensity of the resulting obsessions and compulsions. this new game is based on the concept of cognitive gameplay. As such, the interaction between the proposed game design elements leads to the emergence of different cognitive processes, such as attention, memory, and planning, which are essential in the study of OCD. the proposed game design elements have been reviewed and approved by two psychiatrists.

this paper presents an efficient design of microwave filters by means of geometry optimization using shape deformation techniques. this design procedure allows for modelling complex 3D geometries which can be fabricated by additive manufacturing (AM). Shape deforming operations are based on radial basis function (RBF) interpolation and are integrated into an electromagnetic field simulator based on the 3D finiteelement method (FEM). the optimization controls two sets of design variables, i.e. the geometrical parameters of the structure and the parameters that determine the shape deformation. this approach provides great design flexibility at marginal additional cost since shape deformations require very little computational effort. A complete design procedure of a Ku-band RX waveguide bandpass filter is shown to verify this approach. the designed filter is fabricated with selective laser melting (SLM) technology. Measurements are presented in comparison with simulation.

computer-aided translation (CAT), the use of software to assist a human translator in the translation process, has been proven to be useful in enhancing the productivity of human translators. Autocompletion, which suggests translation results according to the text pieces provided by human translators, is a core function of CAT. there are two limitations in previous research in this line. First, most research works on this topic focus on sentence-level autocompletion (i.e., generating the whole translation as a sentence based on human input), but word-level autocompletion is under-explored so far. Second, almost no public benchmarks are available for the autocompletion task of CAT. this might be among the reasons why research progress in CAT is much slower compared to automatic MT. In this paper, we propose the task of general word-level autocompletion (GWLAN) from a real-world CAT scenario, and construct the first public benchmark(1) to facilitate research in this topic. In addition, we propose an effective method for GWLAN and compare it with several strong baselines. Experiments demonstrate that our proposed method can give significantly more accurate predictions than the baseline methods on our benchmark datasets.

this article discusses several world-wide problems in the communication between the experts, such as harmonization of conceptual apparatus and translation between traditional languages as major barriers for effective and rapid complex systems’ design process. the authors of the article state that in modern, especially post-covid world has been formed the conditions that encourage the development of a new planned language of international communication for experts, which, on one hand, would help to overcome the problems of translation, coordination of the conceptual apparatus, raising the effectiveness of communication between experts, and on the other hand, to make a breakthrough in the evolution of software development. the authors consider the initiative in the creation of such a language may come from experts and the business environment, especially from the global innovative IT companies, for which such language would greatly simplify the writing of software as would replace or simultaneously play a role the programming language. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Real-time object detection has always been a broad, dynamic, and challenging domain within computer vision. Image localization entails identifying a singular object within an image, while object detection involves the task of locating multiple objects within an image. this process involves recognizing various semantic entities of digital photography and videos. Real-time detection finds extensive applications such as object tracking, video surveillance, pedestrian identification, people counting, autonomous-driving vehicles, facial detection, sports ball tracking, and more. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are commonly employed in conjunction with OpenCV (Open-Source computer Vision), a coding function collection engineered for real-time computer vision, to facilitate object detection.

the present work investigates the problem of creating accessible web content for users with reduced vision and color blindness. the aim of the work is to present a model for the design and evaluation of web content with accessible color and contrast for visually impaired people. DC-DC converters are a critical component for the auxiliary power supplies in railway applications to regulate wide range input voltage. With the power consumption increasing, the momentum toward high-power high-density continues unbated. the key to shrink the converter size is high-frequency operation. the bottleneck is the magnetic component, especially for the high-power converters. With wide-band gap (WBG) devices, frequency can be hundreds of kilohertz level, which can reduce the transformer volume significantly. By adopting the shorting control for gain boost, only a small resonant inductance is required to handle the wide input voltage. the low inductance provides the opportunity to integrate the resonant inductor into the transformer to further reduce the size of magnetic components. In this paper, a novel transformer is proposed with the integration of additional leakage inductor for resonance with evenly distributed core loss, and no sacrifice the winding loss and. A 30-kW 100-kHz prototype with 2.4 kW/L power density is built to verify the feasibility of the proposed transformer, whose peak efficiency reaches 99.2%. © 2023 the Korean Institute of Power Electronics.

the utilization of web search activity for pandemic forecasting has significant implications for managing disease spread and informing policy decisions. However, web search records tend to be noisy and influenced by geographical location, making it difficult to develop large-scale models. While regularized linear models have been effective in predicting the spread of respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, they are limited to specific locations. the lack of incorporation of neighboring areas' data and the inability to transfer models to new locations with limited data has impeded further *** address these limitations, this study proposes a novel self-supervised message-passing neural network (SMPNN) framework for modeling local and cross-location dynamics in pandemic forecasting. the SMPNN framework utilizes an MPNN module to learn cross-location dependencies through self-supervised learning and improve local predictions with graph-generated features. the framework is designed as an end-to-end solution and is compared with state-of-the-art statistical and deep learning models using COVID-19 data from England and the *** results of the study demonstrate that the SMPNN model outperforms other models by achieving up to a 6.9% improvement in prediction accuracy and lower prediction errors during the early stages of disease outbreaks. this approach represents a significant advancement in disease surveillance and forecasting, providing a novel methodology, datasets, and insights that combine web search data and spatial information. the proposed SMPNN framework offers a promising avenue for modeling the spread of pandemics, leveraging both local and cross-location information, and has the potential to inform public health policy decisions. © 2023 IEEE.

this researcher's goal is to create and deploy a remote control system by utilizing an affordable and easy-to-use Internet of things (IoT) platform. the design of the circuit described in this article consists of an Arduino Mega 2560, an ESP8266 microcontroller, and a gyroscope sensor as its constituent components. the utilization of the gyroscope sensor could potentially facilitate the determination of the robot's orientation, thereby enabling the preservation of its equilibrium during the traversal of the stairwell. the locomotion system of the robot potentially incorporates a pair of direct current motors to drive its wheels, thereby facilitating its ability to ascend staircases. the stair-climbing robot underwent comprehensive testing to evaluate its performance, with a specific focus on aligning operational values with anticipated values. During the robot's ascent of stairs, the study revealed an average inclination angle of 90.5671 degrees, with a minimal deviation of 0.6301 degrees. As the robot descended the stairs, the average total inclination measured at 89.6883 degrees, accompanied by a percentage error of 0.3463 degrees, all while participants walked on a determined level surface. Additionally, while navigating flat terrain, the average inclination degree was 91.60173 degrees, with a percentage error of 1.7797 degrees. Notably, during stair climbing, the mean inclination angle was 138.1558 degrees, showing a mean variation of 1.3172 degrees. Each stair-climbing rotation came with its associated error value, though the average gyroscope readings consistently fell within an acceptable range of parameters, indicating satisfactory performance. © 2023 IEEE.

With the deepening of China's electricity market reform, the cross-provincial and cross-regional power trading system dominated by government pricing has struggled to release reasonable price signals. Under a single electricity price system, transmission costs are prone to exceed the price difference between sending and receiving ends, thereby affecting the conclusion of cross-provincial and cross-regional transactions. In order to connect cross-provincial and cross-regional power transmission prices with the electricity market effectively, in this paper, a two-part transmission pricing mechanism is designed for cross-provincial and cross-regional power transmission "benchmark + floating" trading prices, and a price calculation model is established by selecting typical projects for empirical calculation to verify the effectiveness of the transmission pricing mechanism design. this research can provide reference for improving the pricing mechanism, which is conducive to promoting cross-provincial and cross-regional transactions. © 2024 the Authors.
