the utilization of open and free-environment programming has increased drastically in education and research fields in the current pandemic situation. SCILAB programming originated from a laboratory INRIA in France and it is the overall open and free-environment reference in mathematical calculation programming. It is an alternative open-source with an easy syntax to the licensed software MATLAB. this preliminary study paper describes about the design and simulation of the discrete-time signal processing laboratory concepts withthe SCILAB open-source software. the transform techniques in signal processing like Fourier Transform of discrete signals, fast Fourier Transform, Fourier series for discrete-time periodic signals and digital filters are better understood withthe simulation results obtained in SCILAB. the student feedback shows that the student attention has improved with SCILAB based signal processing teaching.

Modern vehicles are integrated systems of complex software that support advanced features such as autonomous driving and over-the-air updates. Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are emerging as a future automotive paradigm for managing increasing software complexity by centralizing computing resources and enabling flexible software updates and feature deployment. However, most SDV research is conducted in simulation environments because using real vehicles presents many challenges, including high cost, safety concerns, and implementation difficulties. In this paper, we present the design of an SDV research platform using a 1/5-scale vehicle model to overcome these limitations of SDV research. the platform implements a zone architecture and integrates various embedded systems to replicate the distributed computing environment of a modern vehicle. the platform allows researchers to experiment with different SDV concepts such as distributed computing, OTA updates, middleware, and vehicle software management without the constraints of full-scale vehicle testing. Our design demonstrates the feasibility of using extended vehicles for SDV research and provides insights into platform design for SDV research.

In this research, the author addresses the prevalent issues faced by users of cloud services, especially those using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology, such as connection losses, security concerns, and poor video quality. the study does not delve into the complex problems at the data center level but instead proposes a novel design Science Research approach. this new method, tested with five clients in varied locations, utilizes port forwarding to establish a direct server-client connection, bypassing traditional P2P frameworks. the results show that this approach significantly improves quality over the P2P system. Feedback from clients before and after the experiment indicates a positive response to this new method. this research offers insights into overcoming P2P-related issues in cloud services and contributes to the development of cloud-based server science, presenting a cost-effective, independent alternative to data center-dependent P2P services, with plans for ongoing research in this area.

this article shares the educational experiences obtained by using, as a didactic exercise, a "G" acceleration generator modeled in a CAD software tool application to help students understand the effects generated by angular velocities in different axes. this exercise was used in the course "Mechanical design" for students of Mechanical Engineering in the fourth semester. this work aims to show the learning stages that the students developed through different exercises. Even though the activities used are not new, their combination and a computer simulation tool to verify the calculations makes the learning experience beneficial for the students. Initially, the paper presents a review of the developments in Human Training Centrifuge systems, also known as High-G Centrifuge Systems (HCSs). Subsequently, the reason why an application such as the "G" acceleration generator as a didactic exercise was selected among the topics of Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics is mentioned. Afterward, the performed activities are described, then the professor's observations during the exercises' application and the survey results to know the students' perception of the activities developed are presented. Finally, the conclusions and future work are stated.

Recent technological advances have led to the need to store information electronically, which is why information security has become an increasingly important issue in recent years. Traditional intrusion detection takes care of unusual activity. It is crucial to improve the true positive while reducing false positives to having a trustworthy IDS in a network. We present a methodology intrusion detection system (IDS) that relies on machine learning classifiers and multi-objective PSO in our proposed model. the KDDCUP99 dataset is picked up as an input for evaluating the outcome of the proposed model. Based on the performance analysis and the comparative study, it can be concluded that the model is valid. PSO-RF proposed model gives better classification accuracy compared with DT, KNN, SVM, and Naïve Bayes and the highest Gbest value with maximum TPR and minimum FPR.
