the aviation industry generates massive data every day. By analyzing the aviation big data, aviation manufacturers and airlines can optimize the flight of civil aircraft including risk reducing, operation optimization, and personalized services. Building a platform for storing and analyzing the aviation big data becomes an important task for civil aviation. this paper proposes a civil aircraft big data platform that works on facilitate the development of civil aviation. the platform collects data from multiple types of data sources, including aircrafts, airlines, and maintenance centers. the platform provides decision making support for civil aircrafts including maintenance plan, real-time alarm, health management, fuel saving, and airline schedule. the paper introduces the architecture of the platform and present applications to show how the platform facilitates civil aviation.

Apache Hadoop is a widely used distributedcomputing framework and its file system is Hadoop distributed File System (HDFS), which assumes that DataNodes in a system are homogeneous in nature. When a cloud system scales up, DataNodes are very likely to become heterogeneous. thus, extensive research has been placed on improving performance for heterogeneous Hadoop systems, but little attention has been placed on security improvements. this motivates us to investigate a data allocation scheme called the Secure HDFS (SecHDFS) by integrating the secret sharing technique to improve storage security in a heterogeneous Hadoop system.

Both mobile and cloud computing are two areas which are rapidly expanding in terms of use case and functionality. Whilst mobile computing enables a variety of feature rich functionality for users in a non-fixed location, cloud computing is revolutionising the way in which computing resources are being provisioned, used and optimised for both service providers and end users. these two fields are being combined in order to provide greater functionality for mobile devices by off loading resources to the cloud. However, the advantages of this only hold true if the device resources are truly optimised. this paper examines the effect of network simulation on understanding methods for optimising device life and suggests a number of ways in which Software-Defined-networking (SDN) may be leveraged in order to determine the exact nature of optimisations available through this combination. Monitoring the activity of equipment in datacenters is often a key element in designing large scale network and IT infrastructure. the information collected by direct parameter observations (such as total network traffic, CPU usage, etc.) represents a first step in the overall system performance optimization. A second one is denoted by data analytics and decision making strategies based on the values obtained in the (parameter) acquisition phase. the computing effort required to process the stored data can be sometimes important, setting a necessary but costly burden upon the existing datacenter analytics infrastructure. To address this issue, the present paper proposes a decentralized and cooperating architecture where end user machines will execute at least partially some of the data analytics code and return subsequently the results to managing server units in the datacenter.

In order to deal withthe large scale access to billions of users currently, large internet companies have adopted the distributed service of parallel processing to support it. the uncertainty of user behavior and software multi-tier architecture led to the distributed service behavior of uncertainty and complex dynamic combination between services, so it is difficult to detect the service bottleneck of distributed service. In this paper, we propose a service bottleneck discovery model of distributed service which is based on the two layer structure: the analysis based on the behavior attribute of the service and the relationship between the services.

the cooperation among people is one of the key factors for most processes and activities. the efficiency and the effectiveness of the cooperation has an intrinsic value, which significantly affects performances and outcomes. Open communities, as well as spontaneous or predefined virtual organizations, are demanding for a more solid and consistent support for activity scheduling and managing in a context of flexibility and respect of the individual needs. this paper proposes a privacy-friendly model to support virtual organizations in the scheduling and management of their most valuable resource: the time.

Many network device vendors are providing a vendor specific VLAN based access solutions for WLAN clients. this applications allows network operators to specify WLAN devices which automatically fall into their department specific networks ans allows them to access their local resources like e.g. printers. the configuration of these VLAN mappings is usually manufacturer specific and depends also on the local VLAN policies. However, the presented OpenFlow approach on the other hand presents a solution to encapsulate this functionality as network application. thus, an architecture, implementation, and evaluation is presented in order to demonstrate that this particular functionality can be easily realized in an OpenFlow network application.
