this paper introduces the Federated Learning-Empowered Blockchain-based Data Sharing Scheme (FLBC-DSS), a novel framework designed to enhance data security and efficiency in Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) environments. By integrating federated learning with blockchain technology, FLBC-DSS addresses the critical challenges of data privacy and unauthorized access, promoting secure, decentralized data sharing across various industrial sectors. Utilizing zk-SNARKs, the scheme provides a mechanism for anonymous data verification without compromising data integrity. Performance evaluations conducted using Hyperledger Fabric and SecureBoost demonstrate significant improvements in prediction accuracy and computational efficiency compared to traditional approaches. the implementation of non-cooperative game theory further illustrates the economic benefits of FLBC-DSS, highlighting its potential to increase profitability through strategic data sharing. the results affirm the effectiveness of FLBC-DSS in leveraging advanced cryptographic and machine learning techniques to foster a secure, transparent, and efficient digital ecosystem for IIoT.

An accounting system is a series of procedures and methods used to record, process, and report the financial transactions of an institution. Problems arise when companies with partners or subsidiaries integrate financial data and information, but companies with partners use different accounting system platforms. It is very difficult to integrate transactions and information from several different accounting system platforms. thus, the purpose of this research is to adopt blockchain technology for transactions in the accounting system. Blockchain technology requires every transaction involving parties in the accounting system to go through a peer-to-peer validation process that ensures the transparency of each transaction. the concept of distributed storage in blockchain technology will increase the security of transactions in the accounting system. this research focuses on discussing transactions for purchasing goods from suppliers and selling goods to distributors, which are the initial stages of the accounting system. the research will also discuss blockchain technology-based buying and selling transactions and their relationship to the stages in the next accounting system. the research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of the phenomena and problems of conventional accounting systems. A literature review is also used to study the conceptual model of blockchain technology with the accounting system in previous research as a reference for creating a proposed model. the research output is a proposed model and simulation with the Hyperledger framework.

Public security threat detection is critical for maintaining safety of citizens from possible natural or non-natural disasters. Social media, with its vast and diverse content, serves as a significant source for communication and information dissemination. Early detection of threats through social media analysis can greatly benefit in prevention before the event, or response and rescue during the event. However, the noisy textual with linguistic nature of social media content presents substantial challenges for sentiment analysis. Coupling with sarcasm can reverse the polarity of sentiments, complicating threat detection efforts. To address these challenges, we introduce an application framework for public security threat detection that embeds multitask learning, incorporating sentiment analysis and sarcasm detection. this application utilized preprocessing and feature engineering techniques based on Natural Language Processing to capture the nuance of sentiment and sarcasm, with deep learning network model of Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory and Gated Recurrent Unit combination. the sentiment filtering and identifying threat-related keywords, producing monitoring reports that highlight threats earlier than traditional web news sources, as evidenced by our case study results. this application demonstrates the practical utility and impact of the framework in enhancing public security through timely threat detection.

As the volume of data generated is growing at an unprecedented rate, it becomes important to analyze this data in real-time. To handle the huge volume of data streaming at a high velocity, we not only require powerful machines but also means to distribute the computation involved on the multiple machines. there are several open-source distributed stream processing frameworks such as Apache {Storm, Flink, Spark} and Confluent Kafka for building real-time machine learning applications. Prior works benchmarked some of these platforms using low-level operations like filters, joins, windowed computations etc. Our work includes benchmarking these popular frameworks for their applicability to classical machine learning models: Online K-Means, Online Linear Regression and Online Logistic Regression. We study the following quantitative metrics of evaluation: throughput, latency, CPU, and memory usage. the experiments were conducted in both standalone and clusters setups to determine the scalability of the models. this study will help system designers choose the right model and the right framework, given a specific configuration on streaming data. © 2020 IEEE.

Green Cloud computing is a scalable use of computing resources that uses a virtualized computing platform. Cloud services enable people and companies to use software and equipment that is remotely managed by other parties. Meanwhile Organizations are attempting to cut down on the electricity used by idle resources as cloud computing platforms are used more frequently. By properly dividing the load and decreasing resource consumption, load balancing can assist in lowering energy consumption. Utilizing an effective load balancing algorithm, the service provider's ultimate purpose is to utilize the computer resources as effectively as possible and to maximize revenues. Discussions on cloud computing don't necessarily center on resource consumption and energy efficiency. With effective load balancing, resource usage may be reduced, which not only lowers costs but also makes businesses more environmentally friendly. Load balancing also makes it possible for cloud computing to scale, which is one of its key characteristics. therefore, increasing resource efficiency and a distributed system's performance in this way will lower energy usage but also carbon emissions to obtain “green computing.” Different energy-conscious load balancing methods are reviewed, and its relevant benefits, drawbacks, and performance parameters are shown.

For some of the Internet-of-things (IoT) applications, there is a need for processing huge amounts of data stemming from the network edge in near real-time manner. To this end several in-network computation frameworks have been developed which deploy functions in the computing infrastructure from the edge to the cloud. Some of these frameworks take a centralized approach to the orchestration problem with a central entity making deployment decisions of the functions. Others decentralize such decisions. In this paper, we present HYdrO, which is a hybrid approach to orchestration of functions, i.e., a centralized instance gathers the state of the network and provides hints to the individual computing nodes for an efficient resolution of computation requests. We show with a concrete example of Named Function networking (NFN), a computing framework based on Information Centric networking, that HYdrO can improve completion times of requests and distribute the load of the infrastructure.

the rapid growth of IoT devices generates valuable data. However, current centralized IoT device data trading solutions pose privacy and security risks. Emerging blockchain technology aims to address these issues by decentralizing data trading, reducing the risk of single points of failure, and enhancing user control over their data. In this paper, we propose a new blockchain-empowered IoT device data trading scheme, Block-DDT, to achieve secure and efficient IoT device data trading by combining privacy computing technology in each module to protect user identity and transaction information, while protecting user data privacy and ensuring transaction availability. We first design a distributed identity management module that utilizes DID to establish anonymous associations to protect user privacy and data ownership. then we propose a matching module to automatically match owners and consumers through smart contracts. Furthermore, we customize a data transaction module that utilizes threshold cryptography primitives to support the data management committee in completing encrypted data offline transactions in a consensus form. Finally, we evaluate Block-DDT through experimental analysis to confirm its efficiency.

Social media platforms also function as breeding grounds for hate speech. Hate speech is offensive language targeting people based on their characteristics, including gender, race, or religion. the existing hate speech detection system relies on sentiment analysis, which is limited to processing static data that has been extracted from social media platforms beforehand. this research focuses on the development of a hate speech detection system specifically designed for social media platforms. By utilizing Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks, the proposed system seeks to precisely detect and categorize hate speech in real time, allowing for rapid mitigation and intervention measures. the network can grasp both past and future context by processing text inputs bidirectionally, enabling a thorough comprehension of semantic linkages and linguistic nuances. the system integrates a chat evaluator module to monitor real-time conversations, issuing warnings and blocking users based on a threshold of detected hate speech occurrences. the implementation of a bidirectional strategy improves the model's overall accuracy and decreases false positives by enhancing its capacity to identify minute fluctuations in hate speech patterns. this initiative contributes to the continuous endeavors aimed at combating hate speech, thereby fostering a digital environment that is more inclusive and secure.

News media has been frequently utilized as a political tool to stray from facts, making biased statements and claims without evidence. During the COVID-19 vaccine campaign, politically biased news (PBN) has significantly undermined public trust in vaccines. Despite medical evidence showing the benefits of these vaccines, the misperceptions of the vaccine's safety, risks, and efficacy have led to a non-negligible fraction of the population resistant to receiving the vaccine. In this paper, we analyze: (i) how inherent vaccine stances subtly influence individuals' selection of news sources and participation in social media discussions; and (ii) the impact of exposure to PBN on users' attitudes toward vaccines. In doing so, we first curate a comprehensive dataset that connects PBN with related social media discourse. Utilizing advanced deep learning and causal inference techniques, we reveal distinct user behaviors between social media groups with various vaccine stances. Moreover, we observe that individuals with moderate stances, particularly the vaccine-hesitant majority, are more vulnerable to the influence of PBN compared to those with extreme views. Our findings provide critical insights to foster this line of research.

We attempt to solve in this research a problem of efficiency and, at the same time, the reduction of the operating costs when creating complex banking IT systems. We propose an approach based on micro-service architecture. the article describes functionalities as well as methods and algorithms used during model development. the work emphasizes the importance of the methodically chosen system architecture to properly implement the user requirements and meet their expectations related to independence of scaling, ease of maintenance, and the reduced mutual blockages of websites.
