Since the security problem of embedded systems are increasingly severe and the transfer of trusted chain is incomplete, a bottom-up and top-down transfer model of the trusted chain of embedded systems is presented in the paper, combining with the idea of trusted computing. Based on this model, the plan for booting trust, loading trust on real-time operating system and on applications with the prototype of partitioned RTOS on embedded system platform is designed, which can well solve to a certain extent the security problems that the current embedded system encountering.

We present an analysis method that provides tight temporal bounds for applications modeled by Synchronous Dataflow Graphs and mapped to shared resources. We consider the resource sharing effects on the temporal behaviour of the application by embedding worst case resource availability curves in the symbolic simulation of the application graph. Symbolic simulation of the application results in a (max, +) characterization matrix. this matrix specifies a set of recursive linear equations in (max, +) algebra that bound the worst case execution of the application. We obtain tighter temporal bounds on the completion times of tasks than state of the art analysis. this is achieved by improving the response times of the tasks by identifying possible consecutive task executions on the resources. this enables us to use accumulated response times which are less pessimistic. Applying the new approach to real-life applications gives significant improvements over the bounds compared to state of the art.

As applications grow increasingly complex, so do the complexities of the microcontroller-based embedded devices such as cell phones, digital TVs, smart cars, washing machines and so on. Although these recent applications operate in hard constraint conditions, embedded systems are required to respond to external events in a shortest possible time. In this paper, we present a variety of scheduling algorithms for a single microcontroller-based embedded devises with static and dynamic priorities and show a study on different parameters, such as computing time, burst time, waiting times and average turnaround time for each algorithm. this study aims to select the appropriate operating system for the particular situation and also to conceive new solutions that can improve several features such as waiting times and average turnaround time.

East-ADL is an architectural description language dedicated to safety-critical automotive embedded system design. We have previously modified East-adl to include energy constraints and transformed energy-aware real-time behavioral constraints in East-adl into analyzable Uppaal models. In this paper, we extend our previous work by including support for Stateflow, which is used to design event-driven systems via hierarchical state machines and flow charts. However, Stateflow provides limited support for formal analysis and often suffers from incomplete coverage issues since it was originally designed for the simulation of designs and as such does not provide a model amenable to formal verification. We tackle that shortcoming by transforming Stateflow models into verifiable Uppaal models with stochastic semantics and integrating the translation with formal statistical analysis techniques: a flattening strategy and a set of mapping rules are proposed to facilitate the guarantee of translation. the analysis techniques, including the flattening and mapping strategy, are validated and demonstrated on the Fault-Tolerant Fuel Control case study.

With the huge advances in the field of wireless communication technologies and the availability of large volume of data on customers, it becomes imperative to develop a system that can be used in shopping center to make shopping more enjoyable and efficient for the customer and the monitoring real-time easier for the store's management. A Geomarketing system based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is developed. this BLE-based system consists of three key components (i) Server component (ii) smartphone component, and (iii) beacons (BLE). the smartphone application detects the location of customers by using BLE technology, this data will be transferred to server component by WIFI, and the server application sends personalized promotions such as mobile advertisements or e-coupons to customers' smartphones. In this paper, a highly scalable marketing system using Beacon and the smartphone applicationwas built to send push notifications to users based on the current location of customer inside the mall. Content was provided to people in order to increase sales. this work aims to demonstrate that the geomarketing system is able to detect the location of the customer, transmit the location's data via WIFI, display personalized promotions in a smartphone. the results show that implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology in this system highly reduces the power consumption of the long-term monitoring system.

this work is about an approach for designing control software for mechatronic and robotic machines. As all system parts (control algorithms, software infrastructure, I/O, and machine) influence each other, its total behaviour needs to be taken into account. therefore, we use appropriate modelling formalisms, namely discrete event / discrete time for the control software and algorithm part, and differential equations for the machine / robotics part. We combine these two types of models in a co-modelling approach, supporting co-operative design of such cyber-physical systems. In this paper, the co-modelling and co-design approach is elaborated. It consists of four major steps, whereby the models in each are verified via simulation or co-simulation. It is a pure model-driven design approach, implying that all final code is generated from these verified models. this allows for better quality of the resulting embedded software. the method is illustrated using a case study. Structuring models and verification by simulation, whereby relevant simulations are set up such that they can be repeated as real experiments, is beneficial for the design work itself, i.e. making it far more effective and less error-prone.

Nowadays, the internet of things has been improved greatly with the progress of the sensor, big data, mobile Internet and other relative technologies. One water fountain with intelligent monitoring system based on the internet of things is discussed in this paper. the key parameters of the water fountain were derived from the sensors and transmitted the encrypted data by GPRS or WIFI net to central server automatically. the Access database was established according to the real time running data of each water fountain fixed everywhere. the unified database management and maintenance could be achieved with the PC interface application by the users or the server station administrator with different authority. Products applications show that this intelligent monitoring system could provide reliable real-time monitor, control the water fountain through internet and inform abnormal states of the machine to the administrator and the users in short message promptly.

Preservation and data collection in cloud environments are difficult because forensic data are volatile and they are scattered in many servers. this paper describes a novel surveillance mechanism for virtual block devices on IaaS cloud environments. We first describe some related work on backup applications, versioning file systems, and virtual machine introspection systems that can be applied to cloud forensics. the proposed log-structured block preservation and restoration system can be used for recording cloud consumers' write operations on virtual block devices and for restoring the state of a virtual block device at an arbitrary point in time. this paper presents a design and an implementation of the proposed system by using Xen hypervisor. the prototype implementation achieved better read and write performance compared to the baseline driver provided by Xen when we ran four or more virtual machines simultaneously. this paper shows two forensic applications for preserved data blocks: a file tracking application and a novel diff command that supports time travel.

Today, we're seeing strong demand real-time information, with a rapid expansion of mobile learning (m-learning). We also see that there are many educational resources on the Internet. the learning objects (LOs) are designed as a way to reuse these resources. Some of these LOs are built for fixed devices, which hinders their use on mobile devices. A LO is an area that is open to research that has a lot of potential in the creation, adaptation and production of learning content. the language of the Semantic Web using XML technology and ontology are increasingly used in electronic publishing documents while completely separating content from presentation. Creating a new LO with the semantic web is complex and raises difficulties because the available authoring tools that require a general knowledge of XML syntax and its related technologies. In this article, we describe an original approach to generate automatically from ontologies in the field of education, a type of content (XML Schema) for the semantic creating a SQL language LO in a native format XML, which may be subsequently adapted to the display of the mobile devices.

New applications like highly automated driving, Car-2-X, software updates over the air, or vehicles as part of the internet of things raise completely new requirements to a software plat-form for the next generation of ECUs. AUTOSAR as the world-wide leading standardization organization for in-vehicle software bears this challenge and paves the way making vehicles intelligent and adaptive. Based on a set of selected use-cases, identified by the AUTOSAR partners, the challenges and the approach to master requirements for next generation cars are described. the new platform aims to support dynamic deployment of customer applications, to provide an environment for applications that require high-end computing power and to connect deeply embedded and non-AUTOSAR systems in a smooth way while preserving typical features originated in deeply embedded systems like safety, determinism and real-time capabilities. Built around existing standards such as POSIX, the AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform will complement automotive specific functionalities enabling the platform to run in an automotive network.
