the storage of information on websites and the internet facilitates user data exchange. However, only those with authorization can access the content. Unauthorized parties also become interested in the vast amount of information available on the internet. Unauthorized parties employ various methods to gain access and information. One of them is caused by a cross-site scripting attack. this attack specifically targets the website. Understanding this type of attack is crucial for web-based information system developers, as it exploits weaknesses in programming or code writing within the information system. the results of this test found that 40% of websites were vulnerable to XSS attacks with the type are Reflected and DOM Based Attack

Simultaneous multithreading (SMT) has the ability to dramatically improve real-time scheduling, but existing methods are cumbersome, frequently need specialized hardware, or are limited to producing table-based schedules. Here, an easily portable method for quickly applying SMT to priority-driven hard real-time systems is given. Using a combination of integer linear programming and heuristic binpacking, a partitioned earliest-deadline-first (EDF) scheduler that takes advantage of SMT is produced. the integer linear programming and partitioning are done offline, but generally require only a few seconds, even given over a hundred tasks. A large-scale schedulability study is conducted, showing that compared to partitioned scheduling without SMT, the schedulable utilization for the considered hardware platform is nearly doubled in the best cases.

Due to its potential in improving the efficiency of energy supply, smart energy metering (SEM) has become an area of interest with the surge in Internet of things (IoT). SEM entails remote monitoring and control of the sensors and actuators associated with the energy supply system. this provides a flexible platform to conceive and implement new data driven Demand Side Management (DSM) mechanisms. the IoT enablement allows the data to be gathered and analyzed at requisite granularity. In addition to efficient use of energy resources and provisioning of power, developing countries face an additional challenge of temporal mismatch in generation capacity and load factors. this leads to widespread deployment of inefficient and expensive Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions for limited power provisioning during resulting blackouts. Our proposed "Soft-UPS" allows dynamic matching of load and generation through a combination of managed curtailment. this eliminates inefficiencies in the energy and power value chain and allows a data-driven approach to solving a widespread problem in developing countries, simultaneously reducing both upfront and running costs of conventional UPS and storage. A scalable and modular platform is proposed and implemented in this paper. the architecture employs "WiMODino" using LoRaWAN with a "Lite Gateway" and SQLite repository for data storage. Role based access to the system through an android application has also been demonstrated for monitoring and control.

Growing energy consumption from campus infrastructure including lecture halls that run heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems motivates data-driven optimization. this research demonstrates an integrated application of Internet of things (IoT) sensors and cloud-hosted predictive data analytics to enable smart lecture room policies improving efficiency and sustainability. A Raspberry Pi Pico W IoT device was interfaced with BME680 sensor for temperature, humidity and air quality data. the device also incorporated a PIR sensor for occupancy detection and Wi-Fi connectivity to transmit multivariate time series data. the prototype was installed in a university lecture room for real-time data capture. Data was directed to a cloud analytics pipeline including MySQL storage and Node-RED for pre-processing. time series forecasting was conducted by training autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), Prophet and machine learning models on historical data to predict temperature, occupancy levels, and usage patterns 24 h into the future. An interactive dashboard visualized both real-time streams and model forecasts using Grafana for analytical insights. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

One of the unique methods to directly impact the electrical activity of the brain is through the use of noninvasive brain stimulation methods. these methods, such as transcranial current stimulation (tCS), are applied in scientific community to provide insights in cognitive processes but also to treat certain health conditions. Although transcranial alternate current stimulation (tACS) is less frequently used than widespread transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), it offers the possibility to directly entrain brain activity, leading to short- and potentially long-term physiological and cognitive effects. Together with methods facilitating better sensing and stimulation focus, it enables improved spatio-temporal neuromodulation. One of the crucial aspects of facilitating this is introducing a phase locking mechanism within a closed-loop, encompassing a real-time brain activity readout and targeted stimulation. In this paper we introduce a phase-locked closed-loop tACS framework and demonstrate its working principles. We focus on the phase-locking method as a crucial component and analyse its performance on an artificial setup that includes an in-house developed phantom head and a software framework. the achieved temporal precision is in the order of 5.4° ± 2.31°. the future outlook of the proposed framework is discussed, in particular looking at the research applications and clinical potential.

Despite the fact that city tourism has become increasingly attractive, still the planning authorities undervalue it when developing city infrastructures, especially when extending Wi-Fi covering or other mobile location services. In this paper, we are discussing some problems that occur in existing solutions for mobile applications for city tourism. We check a hypothesis if sharing a real-time location of city visitors may be beneficial for choosing urban attractions. Further, we examine a new type of tourism application that is based on gamification models and location-sharing tools. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

this paper makes two contributions to the verification of communication protocols by transition systems. Firstly, the paper presents a modeling of a cyclic communication protocol using a synchronized network of transition systems. this protocol enables seamless cryptographic rekeying embedded into cyclic messages. Secondly, we test the protocol using the model checking verification technique.

this paper tackles the scheduling of loop-intensive applications modeled by synchronous dataflow graphs (SDFGs) on heterogeneous multiprocessor architectures under resource and communication constraints. Scheduling an application graph on multiprocessor architectures under resource constraints is a well-known NP-hard problem widely addressed in the previous decades with the goal of optimizing different performance metrics such as latency, memory allocations, energy consumption, throughput, etc. In this paper, we focus on the study of cyclic scheduling strategies and specifically the software pipelined schedules of SDFGs under the resource and communication constraints of heterogeneous multiprocessor architectures and we made two major contributions. the first contribution is an integer linear programming (ILP) model for the exact resolution of the scheduling problem and the second contribution is a time-efficient heuristic that generates scheduling solutions close to the optimal solutions generated with our ILP model.

Optical Character Recognition in the case of handwritten text is a critical challenge in web-based applications, such as form processing, digital archiving, and elearning platforms. this study addresses the initial phase of this process-word detection within Persian handwritten texts-using advanced YOLO architectures. the Sadri dataset was employed, comprising 500 pages of handwritten Persian text written by 250 men and 250 women. From this, 102 representative pages (51 men, 51 women) were randomly selected and annotated with bounding boxes for each word, preserving handwriting diversity. Multiple YOLO models were trained and evaluated, with YOLOv8x achieved the highest mAP@ 50 of 97.40 % and mAP@ $50-95$ of 74.20 %. Additionally, YOLOv9m, with only 20.1 million parameters (less than onethird of YOLOv8x's 68.2 million), achieved efficient mAP@ 50 of 96.40% and mAP@ $50-95$ of 72.30 %. these results demonstrate the potential of YOLO models for accurate and efficient detection of Persian handwritten words, enabling realtime and scalable solutions for diverse web applications.

Early detection of forest fires is crucial to minimizing the environmental and socioeconomic damage they cause. Indeed, a fire's duration directly correlates with the difficulty and cost of extinguishing it. For instance, a fire burning for 1 minute might require 1 liter of water to extinguish, while a 2-minute fire could demand 100 liters, and a 10-minute fire might necessitate 1,000 liters. On the other hand, existing fire detection systems based on novel technologies (e.g., remote sensing, PTZ cameras, UAVs) are often expensive and require human intervention, making continuous monitoring of large areas impractical. To address this challenge, this work proposes a low-cost forest fire detection system that utilizes a central gateway device with computer vision capabilities to monitor a 360° field of view for smoke at long distances. A deep reinforcement learning agent enhances surveillance by dynamically controlling the camera's orientation, leveraging real-time sensor data (smoke levels, ambient temperature, and humidity) from distributed IoT devices. this approach enables automated wildfire monitoring across expansive areas while reducing false positives. the full implementation, datasets, and trained models are available at https://***/EdwinTSalcedo/ForestProtector.
