Cloud computing is not only providing the plethora of services in the form of resources (computational, storage etc) to end user but also contributing the major role in the development of internet of things (IoT) applications. the applications of IoT has been adopted quickly in several area to create the smart environment like healthcare, smart transportation, smart home and agriculture etc. therefore, everyone wants to connect withthe internet, but these devices generate huge amount of data that cannot be process by IoT devices due to limited computational as well as storage capability. It's become important to integrate the cloud with IoT (CoT) to process this data. Infrastructure of CoT is heterogeneous, complex and geographically distributed where traditional cloud model failed to process this data due to high latency and scalability. Hence, fog computing is used to process the realtimeapplications closer to data sources and improve the latency, energy, scalability and resist network congestion. In this article, we extensively address the cloud computing, CoT paradigms along with its applications, architecture, research challenges and limitations. Further, we elaborate the working principle of fog for several types of applications and it also worked as glue between cloud and IoT.
Pattern recognition applications such as face recognition, detection of broken eggs, and classification of agricultural products are all using image classification in deep neural networks to improve the quality of ser...

Estimation of the supercapacitor State-of-Power (SoP) is necessary to achieve efficient power management while respecting safety limits during acceleration and regenerative braking conditions of the electric vehicle. However, the SoP is dependent on the supercapacitor State-of-Energy (SoE) which itself should be obtained based on the State-of-Health (SoH) information. this paper proposes a co-estimation framework to accurately estimate the SoP based on SoE/SoH estimations obtained using real-time measurement data. the electronic control unit decisions can accordingly be made upon more accurate information enhancing the overall performance and functional safety. Experimental supercapacitor data under the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS) cycle is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. this is complemented by a few real-time tests to demonstrate the feasibility of embedded implementation.

Software performance antipatterns (SPAs) document common performance problems in software architecture and design and how to fix them. they differ from software antipatterns in their focus on the performance of the software. this paper addresses performance antipatterns that are common in today's Cyber-Physical systems (CPS). We describe the characteristics of today's CPS that cause performance problems that have been uncommon in real-timeembeddedsystems of the past. three new performance antipatterns are defined and their impact on CPS is described. Six previously defined performance antipatterns are described that are particularly relevant to today's CPS. the paper concludes with some observations on how this work is useful in the design, implementation, and operation of CPS.

Recently, more and more services - industrial, educational, medical, etc. - are provided remotely, via the Internet. this has become especially relevant in the field of health care, for example, during the rehabilitation period for post-stroke and post-infarction patients. In this case, several video conferencing sessions are opened simultaneously on the doctor's gadget. this leads to overload of the gadget's processor (CPU), a significant increase in power consumption, overheating of the cores, and as a result to a violation of the stability of the connection. the proposed Colored Petri Net model and developed software for each cores' monitoring the processes in the CPU, built on the *** architecture, allow decision-making on CPU load management with increasing the share of use of LITTLE cores. this approach will increase the time of use of the user device without recharging to 6.8%.

In this paper, our latest research related to digital twins and virtual reality environments for safety training purposes will be described and evaluated. We will present three practical use cases to outline the current maturity level of virtual reality technology for industrial environments. Two of our use cases are virtual reality applications for safety and emergency training scenarios. In addition, one use case is the implementation of a digital twin for off-site safety training. this use case presents a seamless real-time transfer of data between the physical and virtual worlds. Use cases were developed based on the needs of, and in co-operation with, local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). the proposed affordable and simple approaches provide virtual safety training solutions that can be utilized by SMEs of different industries.

Nowadays, Kubernetes is an advanced container orchestration tool due to its high reliability, scalability and fault tolerance. However, Kubernetes requires a significant number of resources for its work. therefore, to ensure the operation of Kubernetes in conditions of limited resources, lightweight analogues such as MicroKubernetes and K3S were created. these platforms provide easier deployment and support. In this paper, the authors analyze performance metrics for orchestration actions such as adding/removing nodes and starting/stopping deployments in terms of resource utilization, cluster startup speed, and consumed time for lightweight platforms and original Kubernetes. the results show that the original Kubernetes outperforms MicroKubernetes and K3S in many tests, but K3S demonstrates better disk utilization. On the other hand, MicroKubernetes demonstrates worst results in the performed tests.

the successful development of complex systems of systems (SoS) is highly dependent on quality of the requirements engineering (RE). the goal is to get “good” requirements in the beginning and to keep them stable until the delivery of the final product. In reality, this is wishful thinking. In complex real-world scenarios the requirements are never fully understood and never stable - they evolve during the development process. this is a severe issue for complex and highly elaborated systems engineering processes. Usually, the projects get out of control due to the change requests or do not deliver a result fitting the current need of the customer. Elaborated innovation management, marketing and customer relation processes are used to understand the need of the customer (market pull) and the new technical possibilities (technology push). the design and implementation of such innovation management processes is complex in itself and well researched. this paper extends the state-of-the-art with a focus on the interfacing between the systems engineering process (for the product development) and the innovation management process (for the ideation and innovation creation). We propose a parallel, interlinked execution of both processes instead of the over-the-fence practice where an innovation idea is handed over to product development at a certain point of time. A continuous interaction of both processes with agile management methods reduces the risk of getting the wrong product. Instead of using wrong or outdated information in the product development due to the missing updates from innovation management, a continuous linking and exchange mechanism withthe systems engineering project is proposed. Interlinking these two complex processes is addressed with scenario-based methods and a process similar to BizDevOps. the full paper will evaluate the concepts based on a complex eMobility case study.
