Robots and in-process inspection systems equipped with machine vision solutions are used for increased flexibility and quality in automated manufacturing. Although vision systems have found wide industrial use, there are still problems regarding optimization of vision system robustness and capabilities. this paper presents a comprehensive case study of vision system functions, techniques and capabilities in an automotive 1-tiers supplier. Based on the study, the paper further describes a method for systematic improvement of industrial vision systems on a continuous basis. this is proposed to be done by establishing a data store and data analysis system, based on training machine learning models in an off-line mode using the historical data, as well as on on-line stream processing. We live in a world where data is expanding exponentially. Most of the data is unstructured when obtained through the web. Many organizations, institutes, and governments worldwide gather public views regarding their products, services, or policies. With thousands of reviews about some product, service, or policy, it is impossible to conclude some kind of final thought from it. To handle this, there is a desperate need for a model that can extract meaningful information from data to make correct and timely decisions for the efficient growth of business and smooth running of an organization or government. Otherwise, the practice of collecting and storing data will be ineffective. In this study, we focused on conducting an extensive public survey on issues of Southern Punjab, carry out appropriate processing on collected data and predict trends in public opinion for decision-making. Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine learning (ML) have dealt with this problem. Different data preprocessing techniques have been utilized to remove the noise from data. Our experiments stated that unemployment, poverty, education, and corruption are the major issues of the targeted region. this study will help government officials and non-governmental organizations to be focused on the extracted issues in the specific region.

How to use high-resolution remote sensing images to quickly and accurately obtain high-value target information such as aircraft and ships has become a hot topic in the research of automatic target detection. this paper uses Google Earth image to make aircraft data set, then detect the aircraft targets respectively based on the two deep learning models YOLOv3 and Faster_R_CNN. At the same time, in order to significantly improve the aircraft detection accuracy, this paper proposes a shadow processing algorithm with double threshold random sampling to conduct data preprocessing for aircraft targets in remote sensing images. the experimental results show that both deep learning models can effectively detect aircraft targets and have great application potential in automatic detection of remote sensing image targets. the shadow processing algorithm can effectively eliminate the projected shadow of the aircraft, restore the texture characteristics of the shaded area, greatly improve the overall quality of the remote sensing image, and lay a good data foundation for subsequent aircraft detection.

Unexpected falls can result in severe injuries to disabled individuals who can barely maintain the balance of themselves. In this paper, a deep learning-based method for fall detection on the rehabilitation walking-aid robot was proposed. the goal of this method is to provide a real-time detector for the walking-aid robot so it can take preventive measures when the fall happened. the deep neural network with error back propagation to update the weight of each feature. the data set used in this paper was obtained upon the prototype of a walking-aid robot. the real-time motion data of the user's waist can be obtained by multiple sensors mounted on the walking-aid robot. Extract the motion features from the acquired data and tag it as normal or abnormal (potential to falling) feature, these two parts of data compose to a sample. Divide the whole data set into two parts to train and test the neural network. It turns out the accuracy of this trained neural network can be 95.8%. In the end, the effect of the parameter and hyper-parameters of the neural network was discussed.

Medium-voltage distribution network faults are closely related to users' power consumption, so timely and effective early warning of distribution network faults is of great significance to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid. Aiming at the characteristics of distribution network, this paper presents a fault early warning method for medium voltage distribution network using "teaching and learning" to optimize non-linear state estimation (TLBO-NSET). data related to faults are collected, and the data of the same time are regarded as a fault scenario state of the line. the historical data are sorted together to form a fault state set. For the future fault state, TLBO is used to optimize the middle weight of the nonlinear state estimation to predict the future fault level. the effectiveness of this method in distribution network early warning is validated by the analysis of 10 KV medium voltage line fault in a certain area in recent two years.

In this paper, we propose an automatic Active Contour Model (ACM) using corneal centroid information for corneal segmentation. the algorithm was validated on 259 of Anterior Segment Photographed Images (ASPIs) that were captured using a smartphone. the proposed system comprises of four components;a) data collection, b) pre-processing, c) corneal segmentation using proposed automated centroid-based ACM, and (d) feature extraction. there were five corneal shape parameters employed, namely Horizontal Visible Iris Diameter (HVID), Vertical Visible Iris Diameter (VVID), eccentricity, asphericity and solidity. Each of these parameters has its own significant features in measuring the corneal shape quantitatively, which could potentially assist the ophthalmologists during a screening process. Using all ASPIs, the findings show that this method is competent in segmenting 231 corneal regions while Circular Hough Transform method only manage to segment 165 regions successfully. these segmentation results demonstrate a bright potential towards the development of intelligent classification system for ocular diseases. © 2019 the Authors. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have altered behaviors in communication, social interaction, and activity, out of which communication has been the most prominent disorder among many. Despite the recent technological advances, limited attention has been given to screening and diagnosing ASD by identifying the speech deficiencies (SD) of autistic children at early stages. this research focuses on bridging the gap in ASD screening by developing an automated system to distinguish autistic traits through speech analysis. data was collected from 40 participants for the initial analysis and recordings were obtained from 17 participants. We considered a three-stage processing system;first stage utilizes thresholding for silence detection and Vocal Activity Detection for vocal isolation, second stage adopts machine learning technique neural network with frequency domain representations in developing a reliant utterance classifier for the isolated vocals and stage three also adopts machine learning technique neural network in recognizing autistic traits in speech patterns of the classified utterances. the results are promising in identifying SD of autistic children with the utterance classifier having 78% accuracy and pattern recognition 72% accuracy.

Migraine is a brain disease that seriously endangers human health in which migraine without aura accounts for the largest proportion in the clinic and is challenging to diagnose. Currently, the auxiliary diagnosis methods based on functional connectivity analysis combined with machine learning algorithms is an important research domain for migraine without aura. Although a few earlier studies have made significant progress, it is still hard to meet the clinical and research needs. the main reason is that the functional connectivity analysis methods mostly rely on the prior template, which is easily affected by subjective factors and the performance of the classifier, the intelligence and accuracy are still at a low level. In this paper, we propose an intelligent auxiliary diagnosis algorithm for migraine without aura based on improved 3D convolutional neural network dubbed MwoA3D-Net. To avoid the difference results caused by varying prior templates, a group information guided independent component analysis method is employed to obtain the resting state network for training the MwoA3D-Net algorithm. Subsequently, the MwoA3D-Net algorithm is applied to diagnose migraine without aura patients and healthy controls automatically. Several optimization strategies, such as 3D data augmentation and L2 regularization, are introduced to prevent overfitting effectively. Experimental results on a data set of 65 migraine without aura patients and 60 healthy subjects show that MwoA3D-Net has a highly robust performance, with an average diagnostic accuracy of 98.40%. Furthermore, the selected resting-state brain function network has robust identification and can be adopted as potential biomarkers of migraine without aura toward individualized diagnosis.

Automatic decision making in traffic signal controllers, semi-automated assistance to drivers, accident detection and response, anti-collision measures in autonomous driving etc., are relatively new applications in intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Recent developments in radar and sensor technology coupled with algorithmic and software advances brings ITS closer to realization. In this paper, we extend the work of Ericksen et. al., “Uppaal Stratego for intelligent Traffic Lights”, in Proc. of the 12th Int. Conf. on ITS European Congress, 2017, France where they use a tool called UPPAAL STRATEGO to synthesize traffic light timing strategies through statistical model checking and machine learning. While Ericksen ***. consider a single traffic light controller at an isolated intersection, we consider coordination between the controllers at two traffic intersections by providing a “green wave” in the heavily congested direction which reduces the overall waiting time of cars and queue length. Our experimental results show a significant improvement over uncoordinated isolated traffic light controllers in terms of the waiting time of cars and providing a new functionality of the controller such as giving a green wave.

AIS is a ship automatic reporting system, which has great significance in ship navigation, collision avoidance and maritime supervision. In order to compensate for the delayed AIS data caused by the network communication being blocked and restricted by the AIS working mechanism, this paper compares and analyzes the accuracy and speed of near prediction, least squares estimation and particle filtering in AIS data prediction based on the actual data of AIS. the simulation results show that the prediction accuracy of ship AIS data based on particle filter algorithm is higher than that of linear prediction and least squares estimation, and the prediction speed is no less than the others, and particle filtering can deal with nonlinear conditions better.
