Approaches to language teaching and learning change and develop as they try to keep pace with the development of technologies. We are experiencing transformative practices being applied to meet the societal and technological changes. We offer a revised scenario outlining the steps for developing academic writing skills with highlighted affordances of technology in undergraduate students of Management of Tourism. the psychodidactic approach is applied in assisting students in the scientific processing of a heritage tourism topic in individual stages, from establishing existing knowledge to own contribution in the form of literary research. It forms a frame within which a set of activities is conducted in blended learning environment. the presented exploratory study employs a mixed-methods approach encompassing frequency analysis followed by thematic analysis, comparison of findings, and survey. Individual steps in the didactic scenario are described and findings are visualized. Experience of students with utilization of bibliographic databases is highlighted. Simple-seeming exercises had to be inserted into the scenario because the students had no prior experience with AI-powered technologies like Chat GPT or Copilot. For academic writing, no one employed any writing assistant, yet the majority could use bibliographic databases and cite sources quite well.

In this study, the use of carbon fiber sheets in graded configuration aims to provide an optimal technique to address stress concentrations at the lower regions of the columns. the effect on the circular steel column specimen's horizontal load capacity, energy absorption, and buckling behavior were experimentally and analytically evaluated by subjecting the specimen to a constant axial load and an increasing cyclic lateral load. Analytical results from the implemented finite element analysis models were verified using the experimental results. Two cases were considered: 1) the application of CF sheets on column specimen before loading (reinforcement model) and 2) application of CF sheets after the column specimen have undergone failure (repair model). For the finite element analysis model, the steel column and CF sheets were modeled as structural shell elements. the interaction at the steel and CF sheets interface was considered by accounting for the adhesive stiffness through contact condition analysis. the results showed that the reinforcement model can effectively increase the horizontal load capacity and the repair model can sufficiently retrofit the horizontal load capacity, and the implemented finite element analysis model can adequately evaluate the horizontal loading capacity, energy absorption, and buckling modes of reinforcement and repair models. © CICE 2023 - 11th international conference on FRP Composites in Civil Engineering. In the context of rapidly evolving cloud service systems and blockchain ecosystems, certain lightweight edge client nodes responsible for continuous generation or transmission of streaming data often exhibit limited computational prowess. Traditional dynamic integrity audit schemes, which rely on one-time initialization frameworks and incur high client-side over-heads, are ill-suited to this scenario. To address these challenges, this paper introduces Iterative Proof of Retrievability (IPoR), an integrity verification scheme for periodic incremental data via optimistic tags generation. We propose a publicly verifiable tripartite IPoR system framework comprised of SDC, EAP and SSP, where the majority of the stream data tagging process is attributed to the SSP responsible for data storage. To ensure the verifiability of the EAP's stream data tag generation process, we introduce a fraud proof based on SMT, the latter substantially decreasing the computational load on public validators. We formally prove under the random oracle model that IPoR satisfies storage integrity and tag generation completeness. theoretical performance analysis and experimental results demonstrate that our IPoR construction can help clients save over 90% on initial computational overhead. © 2024 IEEE.

Objectives. this text briefly presents a research developed by the author since 2020, about contemporary social and cultural processes that contextualize the 'viral cultural heritage', e.g., the heritage overwhelmed by the Covid-19 pandemic conjuncture. theory and discussion. A sociological debate on cultural heritage at risk is emerging via novel re-conceptualizations and case studies, since the Corona virus outbreak. As a contextual sociological perspective, this text refers the contributions of three central sociologists: Ulrich Beck [1], [2], [3], who coined the concept 'Risk Society';Manuel Castells [4], who initiated an influent discussion about the 'Network Society';and John Urry [5], [6], who argues that 'urban mobilities' are paramount to understand the social life across the urban fabric. Such dialog is considered here, in order to analyze the recent global risk vehiculated through the Corona virus pandemic, which is hugely contributing to transform our social formations, into a 'Viral society' [7]. Method. Precedent contents are analyzed and interpreted here via a qualitative and quantitative sociological method that the author developed, named Hybrid Discourse analysis. It uses, among other hermeneutical tools, the Alphabet of Interconceptual Relations, in what regards the content of a corpus including Wikipedia pages about Covid-19 pandemic [18] and Cultural Heritage [19]. Hybrid Discourse analysis questions the articulation of social phenomena, in particular hybrid social processes, through the construction of subjacent discourse propositions. these propositions may be identified as collective or individual logical sentences, socially and culturally produced, disseminated and consumed, via natural and national language sentences, that are spoken or written daily by social agents. Results and impact. Viral cultural heritage analyzed via Hybrid Discourse analysis method, may appear as particularly useful for the development of cultural heritage studies,

the American Concrete Institute (ACI) 440.1R-15 Guide for the Design and construction of Structural Concrete Reinforced with Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Bars linearly reduces the bar stress and thereby pull-out capacity of GFRP bars to zero from an embedment length at 20 bar diameters (db) or less. Most experimental research and data examine the development length of various FRP bars at longer, more traditional, embedment lengths. A database was created from select available data in literature to compare to empirical standards. this investigation examines the bond performance of short embedded FRP bars into concrete considering a pull-out failure mode to expand the understanding of short embedded FRP bars into concrete. © CICE 2023 - 11th international conference on FRP Composites in Civil Engineering. Researchers invented the model, algorithms, and framework for a specific problem, e.g., healthcare system, intelligent agriculture system, etc. these inventions need to be authenticated by using some simulation tools or by using mathematical calculations, so that it can be used by others for application-oriented work or for further research work. Simulation tools are designed keeping in mind the real environment. Questioning is essential for learning and higher-level cognitive abilities. Manual question construction is time-consuming and requires experts. To streamline the process, researchers have proposed various automatic question generation (AQG) approaches for real-time applications in natural language processing (NLP). this paper provides an overview of the latest developments in AQG and discusses the state-of-the-art rule-based and neural network-based models employed in these systems. In addition, this paper incorporates an empirical assessment of the effectiveness of two prominent models, namely the Heilman and Smith (H &S) model and the transformer-based T5 model, using educational resources’ book chapters as the basis for performance evaluation. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Pneumonia is a serious respiratory infection characterized by damage to lung tissue caused by several specialists. this may be a major welfare issue worldwide, especially for children. In conclusion, pneumonia remains difficult to accurately establish with restorative imaging. To perform classification in this case, two deep learning models are used: U-Net and Convolutional Neural systems (CNN), both of which use the pre-trained model VGG16. the images handled are in a DICOM setup, which is commonly used in clinical settings to organize and share imaging-related medical image information. Due to the structured design of the VGG16 model, this model is effective in understanding important features in an image such as angles, textures, and internal shapes for recognition tasks. Our strategy includes pre-processing DICOM images, expanding information, and improving data collection for preparation and training. We assess spectacle execution using measurements such as Intersection over Union (IoU), accuracy, recall, F1-Score, and precision. these results show that both models achieve a precision of around 70%, which underlines the need for assistance changes. Improving data set quality, hyperparameter tuning, advancing pre-processing strategies, and gathering defined strategies to make progress shows execution. these considerations highlight the challenges and potential settings in leveraging deep learning to infer pneumonia, with the aim of contributing to more successful and readily available demonstrative tools. © 2024 IEEE.

— the health, academic performance, and general well-being of pupils and staff are negatively impacted by poor indoor air quality (IAQ) in schools. Breathing problems, allergies, and asthma have been related to poor indoor air quality (IAQ). By eliminating contaminants and allowing for sufficient air exchange, ventilation systems play a critical role in keeping indoor air quality in schools at a healthy level. However, the energy needs of these systems may increase school operating expenses and could have an adverse effect on the environment. Variables including system type, building characteristics, occupancy, and temperature affect the energy consumptions for ventilation use. Natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation, and hybrid ventilation systems have all been the subject of recent research into their effects on indoor air quality and student comfort in the classroom. By comparing the efficacy of four distinct decentralized ventilation systems, this research hopes to add to the knowledge of IAQ and energy consumption in educational institutions. Heat recovery ventilation and demand-controlled ventilation are tested, along with their effects on indoor air quality, thermal comfort, and energy consumption. this research will enhance IAQ by shedding light on how to design and operate ventilation systems in educational institutions, while decreasing energy use and expenditures. ©2023 IEEE.
