In this study, we present a straightforward teaching strategy for teaching the Python programming language. Our method emphasizes a clear progression from fundamental to sophisticated concepts. Beginning with a thorough explanation of core Python ideas, we show a beginner-level script that dissects each line of code and displays the results. One distinguishing feature of our system is that students use ChatGPT to optimize code, which encourages them to improve the core program with fewer lines. After getting the updated solutions, students carefully compare the original and optimized programs to discover improvements and potential flaws. this study underlines the effectiveness of the Straight-through Approach, which focuses on improving Python understanding while also developing critical thinking and code optimization skills. Our findings show that this strategy is a simple and effective way for teachers to assist students in growing from basic to advanced Python abilities, resulting in a dynamic and successful learning environment. the proposed technique will teach students how to use AI-driven modules correctly, such as ChatGPT. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

this research paper explores the efficacy of WebAssembly technology in enhancing the performance of web applications, with a focus on graphic-intensive domains such as video games, simulations, and image processing. WebAssembly, a binary instruction format designed for browsers, offers performance comparable to desktop applications by executing code within a secure, low-level virtual machine environment. the study further examines the integration of WebAssembly into various programming languages such as C/C++, C#, and Rust, highlighting its cross-platform capabilities and efficient memory management. through the development of a website that hosts retro-themed video games, the paper assesses performance across different platforms, demonstrating that while unrestricted desktop platforms show higher speeds, regulated environments exhibit negligible performance discrepancies. the findings suggest that while WebAssembly substantially boosts web application performance, opportunities for further enhancements in areas such as garbage collection, debugging, and JavaScript integration remain. this research underscores WebAssembly's potential to revolutionize web application development, providing a robust framework for future advancements in complex web-based applications.

the article identifies the theoretical aspects of e-commerce as an economic category, the problems of the current state of the e-commerce market related to the COVID-19 pandemic, consumer distrust and less functionality in the choice of clothing units. the aim of the article is the generalization, development and implementation of an expert system that will increase the functionality and efficiency of e-business. Research methods are mathematical apparatus for solving classification problems, regression, discrete methods, artificial neural networks, decision trees and other machine learning algorithms for solving classification problems, statistical methods and tools for data processing and analysis, data visualization tools. the problems of developing an expert system to increase the functionality of e-commerce were solved using R and Python programming languages, data processing and analysis. Practical significance of the research is to identify and use an effective algorithm for emotional analysis of the text, improve the method of collaborative filtering and develop an information system to provide recommendations to customers. As a result, the functionality and efficiency of e-commerce will increase. the obtained research results can be used as a methodological reference by software developers during the design and development of recommendation systems.

Cache coherence in modern computer architectures enables easier programming by sharing data across multiple processors. Unfortunately, it can also limit scalability due to cache coherency traffic initiated by competing memory accesses. Rack-scale systems introduce shared memory across a whole rack, but without inter-node cache coherence. this poses memory management and concurrency control challenges for applications that must explicitly manage cache-lines. To fully utilize rack-scale systems for low-latency and scalable computation, applications need to maintain cached memory accesses in spite of non-coherency. this paper introduces Bounded Incoherence, a programming and memory consistency model that enables cached access to shared data-structures in non-cache-coherency memory. It ensures that updates to memory on one node are visible within at most a bounded amount of time on all other nodes. We evaluate this memory model on modified PowerGraph graph processing framework, and boost its performance by 30% with eight sockets by enabling cached-access to data-structures.

this paper provides an analytical review of the subject area, approaches and methods for real-time control systems with application of the machine learning. the review helps to choose approaches to control robotic devices, methods of artificial intelligence to perform pattern recognition and classification, technologies to design a control system and simulate a robotic device. the design and software implementation stage involved the creation of a structural diagram and description of the selected technologies, training a neural network for recognition and classification of geometric objects, software implementation of control system components. the control system was implemented using the Swift programming language and other technologies, and the configuration and creation of a neural network using the CreateML framework.

An ever-growing diversity in the architecture of modern supercomputers has led to challenges in developing scientific software. Utilizing heterogeneous and disruptive architectures (e.g., off-chip and, in the near future, on-chip accelerators) has increased the software complexity and worsened its maintainability. To that end, we need a productive software ecosystem that improves the usability and portability of applications for such systems while allowing every parallelism opportunity to be exploited. In this paper, we outline several challenges that we encountered in the implementation of Gecko, a hierarchical model for distributed shared memory architectures, using a directive-based programming model, and discuss our solutions. Such challenges include: 1) inferred kernel execution with respect to the data placement, 2) workload distribution, 3) hierarchy maintenance, and 4) memory management. We performed the experimental evaluation of our implementation by using the Stream and Rodinia benchmarks. these benchmarks represent several major scientific software applications commonly used by the domain scientists. Our results reveal how the Stream benchmark reaches a sustainable bandwidth of 80 GB/s and 1.8 TB/s for single Intel Xeon Processor and four NVIDIA V100 GPUs, respectively. Additionally, the srad_v2 in the Rodinia benchmark reaches the 88% speedup efficiency while using four GPUs.

Applications of real-time systems have grown significantly in both diversity and popularity, and the appetite for realtime software has never been higher. In contrast, the choice of programming languages used to develop such systems has stagnated, mostly limited to decades-old languages, specifically Ada and C/C++, and more recently real-time Java. We posit that the high cost and difficulty of developing new programming languages for real-time systems is the main reason for this mono-culture. To tackle the lack of diversity, we propose the design of a micro virtual machine on which managed programming languages for real-time systems can be developed. Our design facilitates bringing the advantages of correct managed languages to the real-time domain. We build on a previously published micro virtual machine specification, named Mu, and propose a set of modifications to its abstractions over concurrency and memory management to make it suitable for real-time systems. the resulting design is a basis for a new micro virtual machine specification we call RTMu, designed as a reliable and efficient foundation for the development of managed languages for real-time systems.

Recent technology advances in parallel computing such as multicore CPUs, GPUs, and their driving software require a well-prepared workforce to support this demanding and fast changing industry. Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDC) education for computer science and computer engineering majors will play a major role in preparing well trained graduates to join this workforce. In this work, we share past and future plans to update the computer science curriculum at Jackson State University (JSU) with PDC modules. As part of this effort, some of the NSF/IEEE-TCPP curriculum initiative on PDC modules were integrated into department-wide core and elective courses offered in both fall and spring semesters. these courses were: CSC 119 Object Oriented programming (core) [2, 4, 6, 9], CSC 216 Computer Architecture and Organization (core) [3, 5, 9], CSC 312 Advanced Computer Architecture (core) [3,5], CSC 325 operating systems (core) [6, 9], CSC 350 Organization of programming languages (core) [9], CSC 425 Parallel Computing (elective) [1, 2, 6], CSC 499 Special Topics: Data Mining (elective) and UNIV 100 University Success course, which is a university-wide class offered for all JSU majors. In an effort to update the contents of the UNIV 100 course, some contemporary PDC topics and their essence in higher education were incorporated into this course. the inclusion of the PDC modules was gradual and light weighted in the lower level courses and more aggressive in the higher-level courses to let the students easily grasp PDC concepts. Specific test questions, homework assignments and projects were developed to assess students' performance. All rights reserved.
