the 3d reconstruction process using binocular structured light goes through two streak image processing: wrapped phase solving and phase unfolding. At least 3 images are required to solve the parcel phase using the phase shift method, and acquiring more than one image will affect the efficiency of the reconstruction. In this paper, a neural network model is designed to solve for the wrapped phase using a single high-resolution phase shift image. Firstly, highly accurate wrapped phase results are solved using 12-step phase images and allowed to be used as theoretical reference values for model training. Secondly, using the optimized U-Net end-to-end generation framework, a single phase-shifted image is input, and a two-channel floating-point image of the calculated wrapped phase numerator and the denominator is output. thirdly, the output two-channel floating-point image is processed with the arctan function to obtain the wrapped phase of the inference output. In the inference phase, the wrapped phase can be solved using a single image using the a priori knowledge learned from the model. the efficiency of structured light 3d reconstruction can be improved by utilizing the high-resolution wrapped phase generation framework proposed in this paper. Compared with the 12-step PS method, the overall reconstruction time is reduced by 87.85%, and the reconstruction accuracy is close to that of the 12-step PS method. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

this project aims to enhance awareness of Malay traditional headwear through an Augmented Reality (AR) filter, utilizing Meta Spark Studio to engage social media users. the significance of traditional headwear extends beyond aesthetics, serving as a vital symbol of Malaysia's cultural heritage. By creating an interactive AR experience, this research seeks to visualize and simulate complex cultural data, fostering a deeper understanding of Malay traditions. Employing the AddIE model for project management, the study developed AR filters using Adobe Illustrator, 3d Blender, and Meta Spark Studio, subsequently deployed on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. the effectiveness of this AR initiative was evaluated through feedback from 120 respondents of diverse age groups. Results indicated that 29.2% of participants were previously unaware of Malay traditional headwear, while an impressive 96.7% reported gaining new knowledge after interaction with the filter. this highlights the potential of AR technology not only as a tool for immersive learning but also as a platform for preserving and promoting cultural heritage. the findings suggest that AR filters can effectively bridge the gap between technology and cultural education, encouraging a wider appreciation of Malay traditions in the digital age. this project exemplifies how innovative approaches can contribute to cultural awareness and heritage preservation, making significant strides in the representation of the Malay community's rich history and identity.

Accurate IQ detection through non-invasive methods, such as brain MRI analysis, can play a critical role in the early diagnosis and prevention of neurological disorders. this study proposes a hybrid approach that leverages the feature extraction power of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and the robust classification capabilities of the XGBoost algorithm to enhance the accuracy of IQ prediction models. CNNs effectively process MRI images by extracting complex visual features, while XGBoost optimizes classification performance through ensemble learning techniques. the integration of these methods results in a more precise and reliable IQ detection system. Furthermore, the model's architecture and data processing techniques offer potential for adaptation in web-based diagnostic platforms and large-scale, distributed medical research applications. this study presents an innovative approach by combining convolutional neural networks (VGG16 and ResNet-50) with the XGBoost algorithm to classify intelligence levels from brain MRI images. Unlike previous studies that used CNNs solely for feature extraction, this research employs XGBoost for final classification, achieving an 83 % accuracy in the VGG16+XGBoost model, showing a notable improvement over the 73 % reported in the most similar prior study. the use of 3d NIfTI data and sagittal slices for enhanced data analysis is also a key innovation of this research.

NANd flash memory is a pivotal technology in contemporary data storage, but its reliability diminishes due to retention noise and wear-out effects. this paper proposes a novel decoding optimization for Quasi-Cyclic Low-density Parity-Check (QC-LdPC) codes tailored for NANd flash memory. the methodology incorporates Lookup Table (LUT)-based reconstruction and quantization, complemented by adaptive read threshold adjustments at the End-of-Life (EoL) stage. Key contributions include a Reconstruction Computation Quantization (RCQ) decoder, which achieves reduced computational and routing complexity through a two-stage optimization process, and a dynamic read threshold adjustment mechanism addressing layer-to-layer variation to improve error correction under evolving threshold voltage distributions. Simulation results demonstrate enhanced reliability and performance, with improvements in Raw Bit Error Rate (RBER) of over 0.004 and a throughput-to-area ratio increase of up to 16%. Additionally, the proposed approach extends the endurance of TLC 3d NANd memory by over 30% at a fixed error probability compared to single-layer model and 12% compared to the Neural Network model. this work offers a step forward in improving SSd reliability at the EoL stage.

Recent data-intensive applications encounter memory wall bottlenecks in the traditional processor-centric computing architecture due to the need for frequent and extensive off-chip data movement. the emerging 3d-enabled near-memory processing (NMP) is a potential solution where computation can be offloaded and performed near memory, eliminating the need for expansive off-chip data transfer. Recently, some crucial works in this context have been proposed that use a supervised machine learning approach that requires a well-labeled dataset, which necessitates creating a time-consuming simulation process. Furthermore, their major focus was on profiling and offloading the entire application to the NMP side, causing a sub-optimal performance because of the low processing power on the NMP cores. this paper presents an unguided machine-learning-based approach (UCO) for computation offloading in NMP architecture that offloads only the memory-intensive regions of an application. the approach extracts several application performance characteristics and creates two clusters using them - one for the CPU side and another for the NMP side. the proposed approach's effectiveness is demonstrated through a series of comprehensive experiments with standard simulators and dataintensive benchmark applications. the results indicate that UCO improves performance (1.31x and 1.10x), saves energy (16% and 12%), and reduces off-chip data transfer (78% and 73%) compared to conventional and state-of-the-art approaches.

In this paper we give a comprehensive overview of our work on digital dossiers for the presentation of cultural heritage, in particular contemporary art, on the web using standard 3d technology. digital dossiers allow for navigation using concept-graphs, and use 3d in an essential manner to present artwork installations, as 3d models, as well as all the relevant information needed for understanding the artwork, and, for curators, for the preservation and possible re-installation of the artwork(s). Our discussion encompasses requirements, implementation issues, and the realization of guided tours in digital dossiers, that provide a narrative facility as well as tools to experiment with exhibition parameters in virtual space.

In this paper, the novel 3d survey technique of laser scanning integrated with photogrammetric image is introduced as a quasi-automatic way for the detailed modeling and the virtual rendering of whole cities with complex geometries and structures. Afterwards, some specifications and examples are given about the different reachable levels of detail, on the base of our surveys done in the city of Gorizia (Italy). thanks to the laser building volumes and the photogrammetric image textures a VRML model for Victoria Square has been obtained;such a high level detail 3d model is described in the part of this paper.

this paper describes a 3d environment for representing a university undergraduate education programme. More specifically, the curriculum data selected fro representation, how they are visualized in the 3d environment, and the process of generated it are detailed. Modulus and curricula have been rendered in such a way that many numerical data, such as credits and duration, are translated into a graphical form, resulting in a simple and intuitive overall view. this effective visualization strategy provides added-value in comparison with the more traditional textual presentation. the 3d environment, based on the X3d language, is dynamically generated from a database thanks to an XSLT transformation. the use of a powerful XML based web publishing tool, i.e. Apache Cocoon, allows this transformation to be easily performed "on the fly".

the VRML and X3d Standards have achieved success as a method for not only 3d Model Interchange, but also for creation of complex synthesized 3d worlds. Shortcomings in VRML and X3d exist in the areas of manipulation of aural soundspaces, and interaction via intuitive devices. Cognitive and Computer Scientists at the Communications Research Centre, Canada, have embarked on a process of exploration to resolve these shortcomings by binding leading edge audio control software to VRML/X3d, thus using de facto standards to extend I/O control and audio data manipulation. this paper will outline the direction of these experiments.
